Hirão, rei de Tiro, enviou uma delegação de pedreiros e carpinteiros para ajudarem a construir o palácio de Davi, e também forneceu muita madeira de cedro.

E HIRAM rey de Tiro envió embajadores á David, y madera de cedro, y albañiles y carpinteros, que le edificasen una casa.

Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.

Agora Davi entendia por que o Senhor fez com que ele se tornasse rei e deu a ele um reino tão grande; era por amor a Israel, seu povo.

Y entendió David que Jehová lo había confirmado por rey sobre Israel, y que había ensalzado su reino sobre su pueblo Israel.

And David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.

Depois que Davi mudou para Jerusalém, ele se casou com outras mulheres e teve muitos filhos e muitas filhas.

Quando os filisteus ouviram dizer que Davi tinha sido ungido como novo rei de Israel, todos os soldados filisteus se reuniram para prender Davi. Mas Davi ficou sabendo da trama, reuniu os seus soldados e foi encontrar-se com os filisteus.

Y oyendo los Filisteos que David había sido ungido por rey sobre todo Israel, subieron todos los Filisteos en busca de David. Y como David lo oyó, salió contra ellos.

Os filisteus já tinham invadido o vale de Refaim,

Y vinieron los Filisteos, y extendiéronse por el valle de Raphaim.

então Davi perguntou a Deus: “Se eu sair para lutar contra eles, o Senhor me dará a vitória?” E o Senhor respondeu: “Sim, eu darei vitória a você”.

Entonces David consultó á Dios, diciendo: ¿Subiré contra los Filisteos? ¿los entregarás en mi mano? Y Jehová le dijo: Sube, que yo los entregaré en tus manos.

And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.

David inquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?” The LORD said to him, “Go up; for I will deliver them into your hand.”

Então Davi atacou os inimigos em Baal-Perazim e venceu a luta, e disse: “Deus me usou para acabar com os meus inimigos, como a água que rompe os muros de uma represa!” É por isso que o lugar ficou conhecido como Baal-Perazim.

Subieron pues á Baal-perasim, y allí los hirió David. Dijo luego David: Dios rompió mis enemigos por mi mano, como se rompen las aguas. Por esto llamaron el nombre de aquel lugar Baal-perasim.

So they came up to Baal-perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

Depois da batalha, os israelitas recolheram muitos ídolos deixados pelos filisteus, mas Davi mandou que fossem queimados.

Y dejaron allí sus dioses, y David dijo que los quemasen al fuego.

And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.

Mais tarde os filisteus voltaram a atacar de novo no vale,

Y volviendo los Filisteos á extenderse por el valle,

And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.

e Davi consultou novamente Deus a respeito do que ele devia fazer. O Senhor respondeu: “Não avance pela frente contra eles. Dê a volta por trás das amoreiras e dali ataque-os.

David volvió á consultar á Dios, y Dios le dijo: No subas tras ellos, sino rodéalos, para venir á ellos por delante de los morales;

Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

David inquired again of God; and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them. Turn away from them, and come on them opposite the mulberry trees.

Quando você ouvir um som como de gente marchando no alto das amoreiras, esse é o sinal para você atacar; porque Deus saiu adiante de você para destruir o inimigo”.

Y así que oyeres venir un estruendo por las copas de los morales, sal luego á la batalla: porque Dios saldrá delante de ti, y herirá el campo de los Filisteos.

And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.

When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then go out to battle; for God has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”

Davi fez conforme o Senhor havia mandado, e acabou com o exército dos filisteus por todo o caminho, desde Gibeom até Gezer.

Hizo pues David como Dios le mandó, é hirieron el campo de los Filisteos desde Gabaón hasta Gezer.

David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.

Assim, o nome de Davi ficou conhecido por toda parte, e o Senhor fez que todas as nações tivessem medo dele.
