Hiram, roi de Tyr, envoya une députation à David, avec du bois de cèdre, des maçons et des charpentiers pour lui bâtir une maison.

Et David reconnut que le Seigneur l’avait destiné à régner sur Israël, et lui avait accordé une royauté glorieuse en faveur de son peuple Israël.

Les Philistins, ayant su que David avait été oint comme roi de tout Israël, montèrent tous pour chercher à le prendre; David l’apprit et sortit à leur rencontre.

And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.

On monta à Baal-Peraçim, et David les y battit. Et il dit: "Dieu a dispersé mes ennemis par ma main, comme une eau débordée." C’est pour cela que cet endroit fut nommé Baal-Peracim .

Subieron pues á Baal-perasim, y allí los hirió David. Dijo luego David: Dios rompió mis enemigos por mi mano, como se rompen las aguas. Por esto llamaron el nombre de aquel lugar Baal-perasim.

So they came up to Baal-perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

Ils laissèrent là leurs idoles, qui furent brûlées sur l’ordre de David.

David se conforma aux instructions de Dieu, et ils battirent l’armée des Philistins depuis Ghibôn jusqu’à Ghézer.

Hizo pues David como Dios le mandó, é hirieron el campo de los Filisteos desde Gabaón hasta Gezer.
