1 Crónicas 15

David hizo construir para él varias casas en Jerusalén, en el sector conocido como la «Ciudad de David». Además, hizo levantar una carpa para que sirviera de residencia al cofre de Dios,

HIZO también casas para sí en la ciudad de David, y labró un lugar para el arca de Dios, y tendióle una tienda.

And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.

David made himself houses in David’s city; and he prepared a place for God’s ark, and pitched a tent for it.

y dijo: «Sólo los levitas podrán cargar el cofre de Dios, porque a ellos eligió el Señor para tal fin, y para que estén siempre a su servicio».

Entonces dijo David: El arca de Dios no debe ser traída sino por los Levitas; porque á ellos ha elegido Jehová para que lleven el arca de Jehová, y le sirvan perpetuamente.

Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

Then David said, “No one ought to carry God’s ark but the Levites. For the LORD has chosen them to carry God’s ark, and to minister to him forever.”

Entonces David convocó a todo Israel a venir a Jerusalén para celebrar el acontecimiento del traslado del cofre del Señor a su nueva residencia.

Y juntó David á todo Israel en Jerusalem, para que pasasen el arca de Jehová á su lugar, el cual le había él preparado.

And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto his place, which he had prepared for it.

A continuación se anotan los sacerdotes y levitas que asistieron: 120 del clan de Coat, con Uriel como su jefe. 220 del clan de Merari, con Asías como su jefe. 130 de los descendientes de Guersón, con Joel como su jefe. 200 de la familia de Elizafán, con Semaías como su jefe. 80 de la familia de Hebrón, con Eliel como su jefe. 112 de la familia de Uziel, con Aminadab como su jefe.

Juntó también David á los hijos de Aarón y á los Levitas:

And David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites:

De los hijos de Coath, Uriel el principal, y sus hermanos, ciento y veinte;

Of the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twenty:

De los hijos de Elisaphán, Semeías el principal, y sus hermanos, doscientos;

De los hijos de Hebrón, Eliel el principal, y sus hermanos, ochenta;

De los hijos de Uzziel, Aminadab el principal, y sus hermanos, ciento y doce.

Entonces David llamó a Sadoc y a Abiatar, que eran los sumos sacerdotes, y a los dirigentes levitas: Uriel, Asaías, Joel, Semaías, Eliel y Aminadab,

Y llamó David á Sadoc y á Abiathar, sacerdotes, y á los Levitas, Uriel, Asaías, Joel, Semeías, Eliel, y Aminadab;

And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,

y les dijo: «Ustedes son las cabezas de las familias de los levitas. Ahora, pues, santifíquense, junto con todos sus hermanos, para que puedan traer el cofre del Señor, el Dios de Israel, al lugar que he preparado.

Y díjoles: Vosotros que sois los principales de padres entre los Levitas, santificaos, vosotros y vuestros hermanos, y pasad el arca de Jehová Dios de Israel al lugar que le he preparado;

And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.

and said to them, “You are the heads of the fathers’ households of the Levites. Sanctify yourselves, both you and your brothers, that you may bring the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel, up to the place that I have prepared for it.

Antes el Señor nos destruyó porque manejábamos los asuntos suyos en forma impropia, por cuanto no eran ustedes quienes la conducían».

Pues por no haberlo hecho así vosotros la primera vez, Jehová nuestro Dios hizo en nosotros rotura, por cuanto no le buscamos según la ordenanza.

For because ye did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

For because you didn’t carry it at first, the LORD our God broke out in anger against us, because we didn’t seek him according to the ordinance.”

Los sacerdotes y los levitas realizaron, pues, las ceremonias de consagración para prepararse y trasladar a su hogar el cofre del Señor, el Dios de Israel.

Así los sacerdotes y los Levitas se santificaron para traer el arca de Jehová Dios de Israel.

So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel.

Entonces los levitas llevaron el cofre con las barras sobre sus hombros, tal como el Señor lo había ordenado por medio de Moisés.

Y los hijos de los Levitas trajeron el arca de Dios puesta sobre sus hombros en las barras, como lo había mandado Moisés conforme á la palabra de Jehová.

And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD.

El rey David había ordenado también a los principales de los levitas, que de entre sus parientes, nombraran a algunos para que entonaran cantos alegres, acompañados de arpas, liras y címbalos.

Asimismo dijo David á los principales de los Levitas, que constituyesen de sus hermanos cantores, con instrumentos de música, con salterios, y arpas, y címbalos, que resonasen, y alzasen la voz con alegría.

And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.

Hemán hijo de Joel, Asaf hijo de Berequías, y Etán hijo de Cusaías, del clan de Merari, fueron los escogidos.

Y los Levitas constituyeron á Hemán hijo de Joel; y de sus hermanos, á Asaph hijo de Berechîas; y de los hijos de Merari y de sus hermanos, á Ethán hijo de Cusaías;

So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;

Además, nombraron a otros de sus parientes, que trabajaban como ayudantes en el templo del Señor. Fueron: Zacarías hijo Jaziel, Semiramot, Jehiel, Uni, Eliab, Benaías, Maseías, Matatías, Elifeleu, Micnías, Obed Edom y Jeyel. Estos últimos eran porteros.

Y con ellos á sus hermanos del segundo orden, á Zachârías, Ben y Jaaziel, Semiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaías, Maasías, y Mathithías, Eliphelehu, Micnías, Obed-edom, y Jehiel, los porteros.

And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, the porters.

and with them their brothers of the second rank: Zechariah, Ben, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, the doorkeepers.

Hemán, Asaf, y Etán tocaban los címbalos de bronce;

Así Hemán, Asaph, y Ethán, que eran cantores, sonaban con címbalos de metal.

So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;

y Zacarías, Aziel, Semiramot, Jehiel, Uni, Eliab, Maseías y Benaías tocaban arpas de tono bajo.

Y Zachârías, Jaaziel, Semiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maasías, y Benaías, con salterios sobre Alamoth.

And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries on Alamoth;

and Zechariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with stringed instruments set to Alamoth;

Matatías, Elifeleu, Micnías, Obed Edom, Jeyel y Azazías tocaban las arpas de tono agudo, y guiaban el canto.

Y Mathithías, Eliphelehu, Micnías, Obed-edom, Jehiel, y Azazías, cantaban con arpas en la octava sobresaliendo.

And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.

and Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps tuned to the eight-stringed lyre, to lead.

El director de los cánticos era Quenanías, jefe de los levitas, que fue elegido por su destreza.

Y Chênanías, principal de los Levitas, estaba para la entonación; pues él presidía en el canto, porque era entendido.

And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.

Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was over the singing. He taught the singers, because he was skillful.

Berequías y Elcaná eran los que cuidaban el cofre.

Y Berechîas y Elcana eran porteros del arca.

And Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.

Sebanías, Josafat, Natanael, Amasay, Zacarías, Benaías y Eliezer, todos los cuales eran sacerdotes, formaban un grupo de trompetistas para marchar a la cabeza de la procesión. Y Obed Edom y Jehías también cuidaban el cofre.

Y Sebanías, Josaphat, Nathanael, Amasai, Zachârías, Benaías, y Eliezer, sacerdotes, tocaban las trompetas delante del arca de Dios: Obed-edom y Jehías eran también porteros del arca.

And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed-edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.

Entonces David, los ancianos de Israel y los jefes del ejército fueron con mucho regocijo a la casa de Obed Edom, para llevar el cofre a Jerusalén.

David pues y los ancianos de Israel, y los capitanes de millares, fueron á traer el arca del pacto de Jehová, de casa de Obed-edom, con alegría.

So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.

Y como Dios ayudaba a los levitas que conducían el cofre, sacrificaron siete toros y siete carneros.

Y ayudando Dios á los Levitas que llevaban el arca del pacto de Jehová, sacrificaban siete novillos y siete carneros.

And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.

David, los levitas que conducían el cofre, los cantores y Quenanías, director de los cánticos, estaban todos vestidos con túnicas de lino. David llevaba además, como capa, un efod de lino.

Y David iba vestido de lino fino y también todos los Levitas que llevaban el arca, y asimismo los cantores; y Chênanías era maestro de canto entre los cantores. Llevaba también David sobre sí un ephod de lino.

And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.

Los jefes israelitas llevaron el cofre a Jerusalén, con gritos de júbilo, toques de cuernos y trompetas, estrépito de címbalos y ruido armonioso de arpas y cítaras.

De esta manera llevaba todo Israel el arca del pacto de Jehová, con júbilo y sonido de bocinas, y trompetas, y címbalos, y al son de salterios y arpas.

Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.

(Pero cuando el cofre llegó a Jerusalén, a la Ciudad de David, Mical, esposa de David e hija del rey Saúl, sintió una profunda repugnancia hacia David, porque lo observó desde la ventana bailando como loco).

Y como el arca del pacto de Jehová llegó á la ciudad de David, Michâl, hija de Saúl, mirando por una ventana, vió al rey David que saltaba y bailaba; y menospreciólo en su corazón.

And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.
