Il se construisit des maisons dans la Cité de David, appropria un emplacement pour l’arche de Dieu et lui dressa une tente.

HIZO también casas para sí en la ciudad de David, y labró un lugar para el arca de Dios, y tendióle una tienda.

And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.

Alors David décida que l’arche de Dieu ne serait portée que par les Lévites, car c’étaient eux que l’Eternel avait choisis pour le transport de l’arche de Dieu et pour son culte à tout jamais.

Entonces dijo David: El arca de Dios no debe ser traída sino por los Levitas; porque á ellos ha elegido Jehová para que lleven el arca de Jehová, y le sirvan perpetuamente.

Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

Ensuite David convoqua tout Israël à Jérusalem pour transférer l’arche de l’Eternel sur l’emplacement qu’il lui avait préparé.

And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto his place, which he had prepared for it.

Puis David manda les prêtres Çadok et Ebiatar, et les Lévites Ouriël, Assaïa, Joël, Chemaïa, Eliël et Amminadab,

Y llamó David á Sadoc y á Abiathar, sacerdotes, y á los Levitas, Uriel, Asaías, Joel, Semeías, Eliel, y Aminadab;

And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,

And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.

Car c’est à cause de votre absence, la première fois, que l’Eternel, notre Dieu, a opéré des brèches parmi nous, qui ne nous étions pas enquis de lui selon les règles."

Pues por no haberlo hecho así vosotros la primera vez, Jehová nuestro Dios hizo en nosotros rotura, por cuanto no le buscamos según la ordenanza.

For because ye did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

Les prêtres et les Lévites se sanctifièrent pour le transfert de l’arche de l’Eternel, Dieu d’Israël.

And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, the porters.

Les chantres Hêmân, Assaph et Etân s’accompagnaient de cymbales de cuivre,

So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;

and Zechariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with stringed instruments set to Alamoth;

Mattitiahou, Eliflêhou, Miknêyahou, Obed-Edom, Yeïêl et Azaziahou de harpes à huit cordes pour conduire le chœur.

Y Mathithías, Eliphelehu, Micnías, Obed-edom, Jehiel, y Azazías, cantaban con arpas en la octava sobresaliendo.

And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.

Kenaniahou, chef lévitique, préposé aux transports, commandait le transport, car il s’y entendait.

And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.

And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed-edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
