Los nombrados fueron: Asaf, el jefe, Zacarías, Jejiyel, Semiramot, Jehiel, Matatías, Eliab, Benaías, Obed Edom y Jeyel, los cuales tocaban las arpas y las cítaras, mientras que Asaf tocaba los címbalos.
Asaph el primero, el segundo después de él Zachârías, Jeiel, Semiramoth, Jehiel, Mathithías, Eliab, Benaías, Obed-edom, y Jehiel, con sus instrumentos de salterios y arpas; mas Asaph hacía sonido con címbalos:

David dispuso que Asaf y sus colegas levitas se encargaran del cuidado del cofre del pacto del Señor, y de la celebración del culto delante de ella, de acuerdo con las instrucciones ya existentes.
Y dejó allí, delante del arca del pacto de Jehová, á Asaph y á sus hermanos, para que ministrasen de continuo delante del arca, cada cosa en su día:

David también nombró como porteros a Obed Edom hijo de Jedutún, Josá, y el otro Obed Edom, y sesenta y ocho de sus colegas.
Y á Obed-edom y á sus hermanos, sesenta y ocho; y á Obed-edom hijo de Jeduthún, y á Asa, por porteros:

Al sacerdote Sadoc y a sus compañeros los encargó del santuario del Señor, que estaba en el cerro de Gabaón,
Asimismo á Sadoc el sacerdote, y á sus hermanos los sacerdotes, delante del tabernáculo de Jehová en el alto que estaba en Gabaón,
And Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon,

para que ofrecieran diariamente, sobre el altar, los sacrificios de la mañana y de la tarde, tal como el Señor había ordenado a Israel.
Para que sacrificasen continuamente, á mañana y tarde, holocaustos á Jehová en el altar del holocausto, conforme á todo lo que está escrito en la ley de Jehová, que él prescribió á Israel;

David había designado también a Hemán, Jedutún y a varios otros, que había elegido por nombre, para que cantaran al Señor el coro: «Su gran amor es eterno».
Y con ellos á Hemán y á Jeduthún, y los otros escogidos declarados por sus nombres, para glorificar á Jehová, porque es eterna su misericordia;

Usaban sus trompetas y címbalos para acompañar a los cantores con alabanzas a Dios en voz alta. Y los hijos de Jedutún fueron designados como porteros.
Con ellos á Hemán y á Jeduthún con trompetas y címbalos para tañer, y con otros instrumentos de música de Dios; y á los hijos de Jeduthún, por porteros.

Por fin, se terminó la celebración, y la gente regresó a sus casas; también David fue a su casa para bendecir a su familia.
