Benaías hijo de Joyadá estaba a cargo de la guardia personal del rey, la cual estaba conformada por soldados quereteos y peleteos. Los hijos de David eran sus funcionarios más importantes.

Y Benaías hijo de Joiada era sobre los Ceretheos y Peletheos; y los hijos de David eran los príncipes cerca del rey.

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.
