Depois disso, Davi derrotou os filisteus e tomou deles Gate e as vilas vizinhas.

DESPUÉS de estas cosas aconteció que David hirió á los Filisteos, y los humilló; y tomó á Gath y sus villas de mano de los Filisteos.

Now after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines.

Também tomou Moabe e exigiu que o povo dessa terra pagasse impostos como sinal de sujeição.

Davi também derrotou Hadadezer, rei de Zobá, nas proximidades de Hamate, na ocasião em que Hadadezer saiu para tomar de novo as terras que antes ele possuía perto do rio Eufrates.

Asimismo hirió David á Adarezer rey de Soba, en Hamath, yendo él á asegurar su dominio al río de Eufrates.

And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to stablish his dominion by the river Euphrates.

Davi tomou de Hadadezer mil carros, sete mil cavaleiros e vinte mil soldados de infantaria. Ele deixou aleijados todos os cavalos dos carros, menos os cavalos para cem dos carros que ele guardou para uso próprio.

Depois Davi colocou guarnições militares em Damasco, a capital da Síria. Desse modo, também os sírios foram obrigados a pagar impostos, todos os anos, a Davi, como sinal de sujeição. E o Senhor dava vitórias a Davi por todos os lugares por onde ia.

Y puso David guarnición en Siria la de Damasco, y los Siros fueron hechos siervos de David, trayéndole presentes: porque Jehová salvaba á David donde quiera que iba.

Davi trouxe para Jerusalém os escudos de ouro dos oficiais do rei Hadadezer,

e também trouxe uma grande quantidade de bronze das cidades de Tibate e Cum, cidades que pertenciam ao rei Hadadezer. Mais tarde, o rei Salomão derreteu o bronze e usou esse metal para fazer o tanque de bronze, as colunas e os outros objetos de bronze.

Asimismo de Thibath y de Chûn ciudades de Adarezer, tomó David muy mucho metal, de que Salomón hizo el mar de bronce, las columnas, y vasos de bronce.

Likewise from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, brought David very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brasen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.

enviou o seu filho Adorão para saudar o rei Davi e parabenizá-lo por sua vitória na batalha contra Hadadezer. Por meio de Adorão ele também mandou muitos presentes de ouro, prata e bronze. Pois Hadadezer e Toú tinham sido inimigos, e entre os dois tinha havido muitas guerras.

Envió á Adoram su hijo al rey David, á saludarle y á bendecirle por haber peleado con Adarezer, y haberle vencido; porque Tou tenía guerra con Adarezer. Envióle también toda suerte de vasos de oro, de plata y de metal;

He sent Hadoram his son to king David, to enquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had war with Tou;) and with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.

Ele colocou guarnições militares em Edom e sujeitou os edomitas a Davi todos os anos. O Senhor dava a Davi vitórias em todos os lugares onde ia.
