Una vez que Joab se enteró de que el enemigo se encontraba tanto al frente de él como detrás, eligió a los mejores de sus hombres y los mandó a enfrentarse a los sirios.

Y viendo Joab que la haz de la batalla estaba contra él delante y á las espaldas, escogió de todos los más aventajados que había en Israel, y ordenó su escuadrón contra los Siros.

Now when Joab saw that the battle was set against him before and behind, he chose out of all the choice of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians.
