Depois destas coisas, aconteceu que morreu Naás, rei dos filhos de Amom, e seu filho reinou em seu lugar.

DESPUÉS de estas cosas aconteció que murió Naas rey de los hijos de Ammón, y reinó en su lugar su hijo.

Now it came to pass after this, that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon died, and his son reigned in his stead.

E disse Davi: Farei misericórdia com Hanã filho de Naás, porque também seu pai fez comigo misericórdia. Assim Davi enviou embaixadores que o consolassem da morte de seu pai. Mas vindos os servos de Davi na terra dos filhos de Amom a Hanã,

Y dijo David: Haré misericordia con Hanán hijo de Naas, porque también su padre hizo conmigo misericordia. Así David envió embajadores que lo consolasen de la muerte de su padre. Mas venidos los siervos de David en la tierra de los hijos de Ammón á Hanán, para consolarle,

And David said, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father shewed kindness to me. And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.

David said, “I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. David’s servants came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun to comfort him.

os príncipes dos filhos de Amom disseram a Hanã: Pensas que Davi está honrando o teu pai, de maneira que te enviou consoladores? Acaso não é que os servos dele vêm a ti para espionar, e investigar, e reconhecer a terra?

Los príncipes de los hijos de Ammón dijeron á Hanán: ¿A tu parecer honra David á tu padre, que te ha enviado consoladores? ¿no vienen antes sus siervos á ti para escudriñar, é inquirir, y reconocer la tierra?

But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? are not his servants come unto thee for to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land?

But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, “Do you think that David honors your father, in that he has sent comforters to you? Haven’t his servants come to you to search, to overthrow, and to spy out the land?”

Então Hanã tomou os servos de Davi, rapou-os, e cortou-lhes as vestes ao meio, até as nádegas, e despachou-os.

Wherefore Hanun took David’s servants, and shaved them, and cut off their garments in the midst hard by their buttocks, and sent them away.

Foram-se, pois, e quando foi dada a Davi a notícia acerca daqueles homens, ele mandou que fossem ao encontro deles, porque estavam muito afrontados. E o rei mandou-lhes dizer: Ficai em Jericó até que vos cresça a barba, e então voltareis.

Fuéronse pues, y dada que fué la nueva á David de aquellos varones, él envió á recibirlos, porque estaban muy afrentados. E hízoles decir el rey: Estaos en Jericó hasta que os crezca la barba, y entonces volveréis.

Then there went certain, and told David how the men were served. And he sent to meet them: for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.

Then some people went and told David how the men were treated. He sent to meet them; for the men were greatly humiliated. The king said, “Stay at Jericho until your beards have grown, and then return.”

E quando os filhos de Amom viram que se haviam feito Davi ter ódio deles, Hanã e os filhos de Amom enviaram mil talentos de prata, para alugarem carruragens e cavaleiros da Mesopotâmia, da Síria de Maaca, e de Zobá.

Y viendo los hijos de Ammón que se habían hecho odiosos á David, Hanán y los hijos de Ammón enviaron mil talentos de plata, para tomar á sueldo carros y gente de á caballo de Siria de los ríos, y de la Siria de Maachâ, y de Soba.

And when the children of Ammon saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the children of Ammon sent a thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Syria-maachah, and out of Zobah.

E alugaram trinta e dois mil carruagens, e ao rei de Maaca com o seu povo, os quais vieram e assentaram seu acampamento diante de Medeba. E juntaram-se também os filhos de Amom de suas cidades, e vieram à guerra.

Y tomaron á sueldo treinta y dos mil carros, y al rey de Maachâ y á su pueblo, los cuales vinieron y asentaron su campo delante de Medeba. Y juntáronse también los hijos de Ammón de sus ciudades, y vinieron á la guerra.

So they hired thirty and two thousand chariots, and the king of Maachah and his people; who came and pitched before Medeba. And the children of Ammon gathered themselves together from their cities, and came to battle.

Ouvindo-o Davi, enviou a Joabe com todo o exército dos homens valentes.

Oyéndolo David, envió á Joab con todo el ejército de los hombres valientes.

And when David heard of it, he sent Joab, and all the host of the mighty men.

E os filhos de Amom saíram, e ordenaram sua tropa à entrada da cidade; e os reis que haviam vindo, estavam à parte no acampamento.

Y los hijos de Ammón salieron, y ordenaron su tropa á la entrada de la ciudad; y los reyes que habían venido, estaban por sí en el campo.

And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array before the gate of the city: and the kings that were come were by themselves in the field.

E vendo Joabe que a linha da batalha estava contra ele pela frente e por trás, escolheu de todos os mais capacitados que havia em Israel, e pôs seu esquadrão em formação contra os sírios.

Y viendo Joab que la haz de la batalla estaba contra él delante y á las espaldas, escogió de todos los más aventajados que había en Israel, y ordenó su escuadrón contra los Siros.

Now when Joab saw that the battle was set against him before and behind, he chose out of all the choice of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians.

Depois pôs os outros nas mãos de seu irmão Abisai, que os pôes em formação de batalha contra os amonitas.

And the rest of the people he delivered unto the hand of Abishai his brother, and they set themselves in array against the children of Ammon.

E disse: Se os sírios forem mais fortes que eu, tu me socorrerás; e se os amonitas forem mais fortes que tu, eu te socorrerei.

Y dijo: Si los Siros fueren más fuertes que yo, tú me salvarás; y si los Ammonitas fueren más fuertes que tú, yo te salvaré.

And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of Ammon be too strong for thee, then I will help thee.

He said, “If the Syrians are too strong for me, then you are to help me; but if the children of Ammon are too strong for you, then I will help you.

Esforça-te, e sejamos corajosos por nosso povo, e pelas cidades de nosso Deus; e faça o SENHOR o que bem lhe parecer.

Esfuérzate, y esforcémonos por nuestro pueblo, y por las ciudades de nuestro Dios; y haga Jehová lo que bien le pareciere.

Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the LORD do that which is good in his sight.

Be courageous, and let’s be strong for our people and for the cities of our God. May the LORD do that which seems good to him.”

Aproximou-se, então, Joabe e o povo que tinha consigo, para lutar contra os sírios; mas eles fugiram diante dele.

Acercóse luego Joab y el pueblo que tenía consigo, para pelear contra los Siros; mas ellos huyeron delante de él.

So Joab and the people that were with him drew nigh before the Syrians unto the battle; and they fled before him.

E os filhos de Amom, vendo que os sírios haviam fugido, fugiram também eles diante de Abisai seu irmão, e entraram-se na cidade. Então Joabe se voltou a Jerusalém.

Y los hijos de Ammón, viendo que los Siros habían huído, huyeron también ellos delante de Abisai su hermano, y entráronse en la ciudad. Entonces Joab se volvió á Jerusalem.

And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, they likewise fled before Abishai his brother, and entered into the city. Then Joab came to Jerusalem.

E vendo os sírios que haviam caído diante de Israel, enviaram embaixadores, e trouxeram aos sírios que estavam da outra parte do rio, cujo capitão era Sofaque, general do exército de Hadadezer.

Y viendo los Siros que habían caído delante de Israel, enviaron embajadores, y trajeron á los Siros que estaban de la otra parte del río, cuyo capitán era Sophach, general del ejército de Adarezer.

And when the Syrians saw that they were put to the worse before Israel, they sent messengers, and drew forth the Syrians that were beyond the river: and Shophach the captain of the host of Hadarezer went before them.

When the Syrians saw that they were defeated by Israel, they sent messengers and called out the Syrians who were beyond the River, with Shophach the captain of the army of Hadadezer leading them.

Logo que foi dado aviso a Davi, juntou a todo Israel, e passando o Jordão veio a eles, e ordenou contra eles seu exército. E como Davi havia ordenado sua tropa contra eles, os sírios lutaram com ele.

Luego que fué dado aviso á David, juntó á todo Israel, y pasando el Jordán vino á ellos, y ordenó contra ellos su ejército. Y como David hubo ordenado su tropa contra ellos, pelearon con él los Siros.

And it was told David; and he gathered all Israel, and passed over Jordan, and came upon them, and set the battle in array against them. So when David had put the battle in array against the Syrians, they fought with him.

Mas os sírios fugiram diante de Israel; e Davi matou dos sírios sete mil homens das carruagens, e quarenta mil homens a pé; assim matou Sofaque, general do exército.

Mas el Siro huyó delante de Israel; y mató David de los Siros siete mil hombres de los carros, y cuarenta mil hombres de á pie: asimismo mató á Sophach, general del ejército.

But the Syrians fled before Israel; and David slew of the Syrians seven thousand men which fought in chariots, and forty thousand footmen, and killed Shophach the captain of the host.

E vendo os sírios de Hadadezer que haviam caído diante de Israel, concordarem em fazer a paz com Davi, e foram seus servos; e nunca mais os sírios quiseram ajudar os filhos de Amom.

Y viendo los Siros de Adarezer que habían caído delante de Israel, concertaron paz con David, y fueron sus siervos; y nunca más quiso el Siro ayudar á los hijos de Ammón.

And when the servants of Hadarezer saw that they were put to the worse before Israel, they made peace with David, and became his servants: neither would the Syrians help the children of Ammon any more.

When the servants of Hadadezer saw that they were defeated by Israel, they made peace with David and served him. The Syrians would not help the children of Ammon any more.
