Und nach Verfluß eines Jahres, zur Zeit, da die Könige ausziehen, führte Joab die Kriegsmacht aus und verheerte das Land der Kinder Ammon; und er kam und belagerte Rabba, während David in Jerusalem blieb, und Joab eroberte Rabba und zerstörte es.

Y ACONTECIÓ á la vuelta del año, en el tiempo que suelen los reyes salir á la guerra, que Joab sacó las fuerzas del ejército, y destruyó la tierra de los hijos de Ammón, y vino y cercó á Rabba. Mas David estaba en Jerusalem: y Joab batió á Rabba, y destruyóla.

And it came to pass, that after the year was expired, at the time that kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it.

Darnach kam es bei Geser zum Streite mit den Philistern. Damals erschlug Sibechai, der Chuschatiter, den Sippai, einen von den Kindern Raphas; und sie wurden gedemütigt.

Und es kam nochmals zum Streite mit den Philistern. Da erschlug Elchanan, der Sohn Jairs, Lachmi, den Bruder Goliats, den Gatiter, dessen Speerschaft wie ein Weberbaum war.

Y volvióse á levantar guerra con los Filisteos; é hirió Elhanán hijo de Jair á Lahmi, hermano de Goliath Getheo, el asta de cuya lanza era como un enjullo de tejedores.
