Or Satana si levò contro Israele, e incitò Davide a fare il censimento d’Israele.

MAS Satanás se levantó contra Israel, é incitó á David á que contase á Israel.

And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.

E Davide disse a Joab e ai capi del popolo: “Andate, fate il censimento degl’Israeliti da Beer-Sceba fino a Dan; e venite a riferirmene il risultato, perch’io ne sappia il numero”.

Y dijo David á Joab y á los príncipes del pueblo: Id, contad á Israel desde Beer-seba hasta Dan, y traedme el número de ellos para que yo lo sepa.

And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beer-sheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know it.

David said to Joab and to the princes of the people, “Go, count Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring me word, that I may know how many there are.”

Joab rispose: “L’Eterno renda il suo popolo cento volte più numeroso di quello che è! Ma, o re, mio signore, non sono eglino tutti servi del mio signore? Perché il mio signore domanda egli questo? Perché render così Israele colpevole?”

Y dijo Joab: Añada Jehová á su pueblo cien veces otros tantos. Rey señor mío, ¿no son todos estos siervos de mi señor? ¿para qué procura mi señor esto, que será pernicioso á Israel?

And Joab answered, The LORD make his people an hundred times so many more as they be: but, my lord the king, are they not all my lord’s servants? why then doth my lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel?

Joab said, “May the LORD make his people a hundred times as many as they are. But, my lord the king, aren’t they all my lord’s servants? Why does my lord require this thing? Why will he be a cause of guilt to Israel?”

Ma l’ordine del re prevalse contro Joab. Joab dunque partì, percorse tutto Israele, poi tornò a Gerusalemme.

Mas el mandamiento del rey pudo más que Joab. Salió por tanto Joab, y fué por todo Israel; y volvió á Jerusalem, y dió la cuenta del número del pueblo á David.

Nevertheless the king’s word prevailed against Joab. Wherefore Joab departed, and went throughout all Israel, and came to Jerusalem.

E Joab rimise a Davide la cifra del censimento del popolo: c’erano in tutto Israele un milione e centomila uomini atti a portare le armi; e in Giuda quattrocento settantamila uomini atti a portar le armi.

Y hallóse en todo Israel que sacaban espada, once veces cien mil; y de Judá cuatrocientos y setenta mil hombres que sacaban espada.

And Joab gave the sum of the number of the people unto David. And all they of Israel were a thousand thousand and an hundred thousand men that drew sword: and Judah was four hundred threescore and ten thousand men that drew sword.

Joab gave the sum of the census of the people to David. All those of Israel were one million one hundred thousand men who drew a sword; and in Judah were four hundred seventy thousand men who drew a sword.

Or Joab non avea fatto il censimento di Levi e di Beniamino come degli altri, perché l’ordine del re era per lui abominevole.

Entre estos no fueron contados los Levitas, ni los hijos de Benjamín, porque Joab abominaba el mandamiento del rey.

Questa cosa dispiacque a Dio, che perciò colpì Israele.

Asimismo desagradó este negocio á los ojos de Dios, é hirió á Israel.

And God was displeased with this thing; therefore he smote Israel.

E Davide disse a Dio: “Io ho gravemente peccato in questo che ho fatto; ma ora, ti prego, perdona l’iniquità del tuo servo, perché io ho agito con grande stoltezza”.

Y dijo David á Dios: He pecado gravemente en hacer esto: ruégote que hagas pasar la iniquidad de tu siervo, porque yo he hecho muy locamente.

And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing: but now, I beseech thee, do away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.

David said to God, “I have sinned greatly, in that I have done this thing. But now put away, I beg you, the iniquity of your servant, for I have done very foolishly.”

E l’Eterno parlò così a Gad, il veggente di Davide:

Y habló Jehová á Gad, vidente de David, diciendo:

And the LORD spake unto Gad, David’s seer, saying,

The LORD spoke to Gad, David’s seer, saying,

“Va’, e parla a Davide in questo modo: Così dice l’Eterno: Io ti propongo tre cose; sceglitene una, e quella ti farò”.

Ve, y habla á David, y dile: Así ha dicho Jehová: Tres cosas te propongo; escoge de ellas una que yo haga contigo.

Go and tell David, saying, Thus saith the LORD, I offer thee three things: choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee.

“Go and speak to David, saying, ‘The LORD says, “I offer you three things. Choose one of them, that I may do it to you.”’”

Gad andò dunque da Davide, e gli disse: “Così dice l’Eterno: Scegli quello che vuoi:

Y viniendo Gad á David, díjole: Así ha dicho Jehová:

So Gad came to David, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Choose thee

So Gad came to David and said to him, “The LORD says, ‘Take your choice:

o tre anni di carestia, o tre mesi durante i quali i tuoi avversari facciano scempio di te e ti raggiunga la spada dei tuoi nemici, ovvero tre giorni di spada dell’Eterno, ossia di peste nel paese, durante i quali l’angelo dell’Eterno porterà la distruzione in tutto il territorio d’Israele. Or dunque vedi che cosa io debba rispondere a colui che mi ha mandato”.

Escógete, ó tres años de hambre; ó ser por tres meses deshecho delante de tus enemigos, y que la espada de tus adversarios te alcance; ó por tres días la espada de Jehová y pestilencia en la tierra, y que el ángel de Jehová destruya en todo el término de Israel: mira pues qué he de responder al que me ha enviado.

Either three years’ famine; or three months to be destroyed before thy foes, while that the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee; or else three days the sword of the LORD, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel. Now therefore advise thyself what word I shall bring again to him that sent me.

E Davide disse a Gad: “Io sono in una grande angoscia! Ebbene, ch’io cada nelle mani dell’Eterno, giacché le sue compassioni sono immense; ma ch’io non cada nelle mani degli uomini!”

Entonces David dijo á Gad: Estoy en grande angustia: ruego que yo caiga en la mano de Jehová; porque sus misericordias son muchas en extremo, y que no caiga yo en manos de hombres.

And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall now into the hand of the LORD; for very great are his mercies: but let me not fall into the hand of man.

David said to Gad, “I am in distress. Let me fall, I pray, into the LORD’s hand, for his mercies are very great. Don’t let me fall into man’s hand.”

Così l’Eterno mandò la peste in Israele; e caddero settantamila persone d’Israele.

Así Jehová dió pestilencia en Israel, y cayeron de Israel setenta mil hombres.

So the LORD sent pestilence upon Israel: and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men.

E Dio mandò un angelo a Gerusalemme per distruggerla; e come questi si disponeva a distruggerla, l’Eterno gettò su di lei lo sguardo, si pentì della calamità che avea inflitta, e disse all’angelo distruttore: “Basta; ritieni ora la tua mano!” Or l’angelo dell’Eterno si trovava presso l’aia di Ornan, il Gebuseo.

Y envió Jehová el ángel á Jerusalem para destruirla: pero estando él destruyendo, miró Jehová, y arrepintióse de aquel mal,

And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, the LORD beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD stood by the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it. As he was about to destroy, the LORD saw, and he relented of the disaster, and said to the destroying angel, “It is enough. Now withdraw your hand.” the LORD’s angel was standing by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

E Davide, alzando gli occhi, vide l’angelo dell’Eterno che stava fra terra e cielo, avendo in mano una spada sguainata, vòlta contro Gerusalemme. Allora Davide e gli anziani, coperti di sacchi, si gettarono con la faccia a terra.

Y dijo al ángel que destruía: Basta ya; detén tu mano. Y el ángel de Jehová estaba junto á la era de Ornán Jebuseo.

And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.

E Davide disse a Dio: “Non sono io quegli che ordinai il censimento del popolo? Son io che ho peccato, e che ho agito con tanta malvagità; ma queste pecore che hanno fatto? Ti prego, o Eterno, o mio Dio, si volga la tua mano contro di me e contro la casa di mio padre, ma non contro il tuo popolo, per colpirlo col flagello!”

Y alzando David sus ojos, vió al ángel de Jehová, que estaba entre el cielo y la tierra, teniendo un espada desnuda en su mano, extendida contra Jerusalem. Entonces David y los ancianos se postraron sobre sus rostros, cubiertos de sacos.

And David said unto God, Is it not I that commanded the people to be numbered? even I it is that have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, O LORD my God, be on me, and on my father’s house; but not on thy people, that they should be plagued.

David said to God, “Isn’t it I who commanded the people to be counted? It is even I who have sinned and done very wickedly; but these sheep, what have they done? Please let your hand, O LORD my God, be against me and against my father’s house; but not against your people, that they should be plagued.”

Allora l’angelo dell’Eterno ordinò a Gad di dire a Davide che salisse ad erigere un altare all’Eterno nell’aia di Ornan, il Gebuseo.

Y dijo David á Dios: ¿No soy yo el que hizo contar el pueblo? Yo mismo soy el que pequé, y ciertamente he hecho mal; mas estas ovejas, ¿qué han hecho? Jehová Dios mío, sea ahora tu mano contra mí, y contra la casa de mi padre, y no haya plaga en tu pueblo.

Then the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and set up an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

Then the LORD’s angel commanded Gad to tell David that David should go up and raise an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

E Davide salì, secondo la parola che Gad avea pronunziata nel nome dell’Eterno.

Y el ángel de Jehová ordenó á Gad que dijese á David, que subiese y construyese un altar á Jehová en la era de Ornán Jebuseo.

And David went up at the saying of Gad, which he spake in the name of the LORD.

Ornan, voltandosi, vide l’angelo; e i suoi quattro figliuoli ch’eran con lui si nascosero. Ornan stava battendo il grano.

Entonces David subió, conforme á la palabra de Gad que le había dicho en nombre de Jehová.

E come Davide giunse presso Ornan, Ornan guardò, e vide Davide; e, uscito dall’aia, si prostrò dinanzi a Davide, con la faccia a terra.

Y volviéndose Ornán vió al ángel; por lo que se escondieron cuatro hijos suyos que con él estaban. Y Ornán trillaba el trigo.

And as David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshingfloor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground.

Allora Davide disse ad Ornan: “Dammi il sito di quest’aia, perch’io vi eriga un altare all’Eterno; dammelo per tutto il prezzo che vale, affinché la piaga cessi d’infierire sul popolo”.

Y viniendo David á Ornán, miró éste, y vió á David: y saliendo de la era, postróse en tierra á David.

Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of this threshingfloor, that I may build an altar therein unto the LORD: thou shalt grant it me for the full price: that the plague may be stayed from the people.

Then David said to Ornan, “Sell me the place of this threshing floor, that I may build an altar to the LORD on it. You shall sell it to me for the full price, that the plague may be stopped from afflicting the people.”

Ornan disse a Davide: “Prenditelo; e il re, mio signore, faccia quello che par bene agli occhi suoi; guarda, io ti do i buoi per gli olocausti, le macchine da trebbiare per legna, e il grano per l’oblazione; tutto ti do”.

Entonces dijo David á Ornán: Dame este lugar de la era, en que edifique un altar á Jehová, y dámelo por su cabal precio, para que cese la plaga del pueblo.

And Ornan said unto David, Take it to thee, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes: lo, I give thee the oxen also for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meat offering; I give it all.

Ornan said to David, “Take it for yourself, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes. Behold, I give the oxen for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meal offering. I give it all.”

Ma il re Davide disse ad Ornan: “No, io comprerò da te queste cose per il loro intero prezzo; giacché io non prenderò per l’Eterno ciò ch’è tuo, né offrirò un olocausto che non mi costi nulla”.

Y Ornán respondió á David: Tómalo para ti, y haga mi señor el rey lo que bien le pareciere: y aun los bueyes daré para el holocausto, y los trillos para leña, y trigo para el presente: yo lo doy todo.

And king David said to Ornan, Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take that which is thine for the LORD, nor offer burnt offerings without cost.

King David said to Ornan, “No, but I will most certainly buy it for the full price. For I will not take that which is yours for the LORD, nor offer a burnt offering that costs me nothing.”

E Davide diede ad Ornan come prezzo del luogo il peso di seicento sicli d’oro;

Entonces el rey David dijo á Ornán: No, sino que efectivamente la compraré por su justo precio: porque no tomaré para Jehová lo que es tuyo, ni sacrificaré holocausto que nada me cueste.

So David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight.

poi edificò quivi un altare all’Eterno, offrì olocausti e sacrifizi di azioni di grazie, e invocò l’Eterno, il quale gli rispose mediante il fuoco, che discese dal cielo sull’altare dell’olocausto.

Y dió David á Ornán por el lugar seiscientos siclos de oro por peso.

And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called upon the LORD; and he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt offering.

Poi l’Eterno comandò all’angelo di rimettere la spada nel fodero.

Y edificó allí David un altar á Jehová, en el que ofreció holocaustos y sacrificios pacíficos, é invocó á Jehová, el cual le respondió por fuego de los cielos en el altar del holocausto.

And the LORD commanded the angel; and he put up his sword again into the sheath thereof.

In quel tempo Davide, vedendo che l’Eterno lo aveva esaudito nell’aia d’Ornan, il Gebuseo, vi offriva dei sacrifizi.

Y como Jehová habló al ángel, él volvió su espada á la vaina.

Il tabernacolo dell’Eterno che Mosè avea costruito nel deserto e l’altare degli olocausti si trovavano allora sull’alto luogo di Gabaon.

Entonces viendo David que Jehová le había oído en la era de Ornán Jebuseo, sacrificó allí.

E Davide non poteva andare davanti a quell’altare a cercare Iddio, per lo spavento che gli avea cagionato la spada dell’angelo dell’Eterno.

Y el tabernáculo de Jehová que Moisés había hecho en el desierto, y el altar del holocausto, estaban entonces en el alto de Gabaón: Mas David no pudo ir allá á consultar á Dios, porque estaba espantado á causa de la espada del ángel de Jehová.

But David could not go before it to enquire of God: for he was afraid because of the sword of the angel of the LORD.
