6El ministerio de la música a cargo de ellos incluía el tocar los címbalos, arpas y liras, todo bajo la dirección de su padre, mientras desempeñaban su ministerio en el santuario. Asaf, Jedutún y Hemán rendían informe directamente al rey. Ellos y sus familiares estaban adiestrados para cantar alabanzas al Señor. Eran doscientos ochenta y ocho en total, siendo cada uno de ellos maestro de música.
