1Luego David citó a reunión a todos sus oficiales a Jerusalén: los jefes de las tribus, los jefes de las doce divisiones del ejército, los otros oficiales del ejército, los funcionarios a cargo de su finca y su ganado, y todos los otros hombres de autoridad en su reino.
2Se levantó, y estando en pie delante de ellos, les dijo: «¡Hermanos míos y pueblo mío! Era mi deseo construir un lugar permanente para el cofre del pacto del Señor; un lugar en que nuestro Dios tuviera su trono. Ya tengo listos todos los elementos necesarios para la construcción,
3pero Dios me dijo: “¡Tú no me construirás un templo para honrar mi nombre, porque has dirigido muchas guerras y has dado muerte a mucha gente!”.
4»No obstante, el Señor, Dios de Israel, me ha escogido de entre toda la familia de mi padre para iniciar una dinastía que regirá a Israel para siempre; ha escogido a la tribu de Judá, y de entre las familias de Judá, a la familia de mi padre; y de entre sus hijos, el Señor, por su gracia, me favoreció y me hizo rey sobre todo Israel.
5El Señor me ha dado muchos hijos, y de entre ellos ha escogido a Salomón para que sea mi sucesor en el trono de su reino de Israel.
6En efecto, me ha dicho: “Tu hijo Salomón construirá mi templo; porque lo he elegido como mi hijo, y yo seré su Padre.
7Y si él continúa obedeciendo mis mandamientos e instrucciones como hasta ahora, haré que su reino dure para siempre”.
8»Aquí, delante del pueblo de Israel, que es el pueblo del Señor, y a la vista de nuestro Dios, les pido que obedezcan fielmente todos los mandamientos del Señor, para que puedan disfrutar de esta hermosa tierra que Dios les ha dado, y se la dejen a sus hijos para siempre».
9Luego David se dirigió a Salomón y le dijo: «Salomón, hijo mío, dedícate a conocer al Dios de tus padres; adóralo y sírvele con un corazón limpio y una correcta disposición, porque el Señor ve todo corazón, y entiende y conoce todo pensamiento. Si tú lo buscas, lo encontrarás; pero si tú lo abandonas, él te desechará por completo.
10Recuerda que el Señor te ha elegido para que le construyas un templo como su santuario. Así que ¡con todo ánimo ponte a trabajar!».
11David procedió luego a entregar a Salomón los planos del templo y sus dependencias: las tesorerías, los aposentos altos, las salas interiores y el santuario para el propiciatorio.
12También le dio a Salomón sus proyectos de planos para los patios del templo del Señor, los aposentos de afuera para los tesoros del mismo, y para guardar los utensilios sagrados y las ofrendas especiales.
13El rey puso, asimismo, en manos de Salomón las instrucciones concernientes al trabajo de los diversos grupos de sacerdotes y levitas; e incluyó especificaciones para cada artículo que había de utilizarse en el templo del Señor para la adoración y el sacrificio.
14Además, David le entregó gran cantidad de oro y plata con que se harían todos los utensilios del templo del Señor,
15asimismo la cantidad precisa de oro para confeccionar los candelabros y lámparas, de acuerdo con el servicio que prestaría cada candelabro.
16Luego pesó el oro para la mesa en que se colocarían los panes de la Presencia y para las otras mesas de oro, y pesó, asimismo, la plata para las mesas de plata.
17También le entregó el oro para los tenedores, tazones y jarras. Igualmente le pesó el oro y la plata para las copas.
18Finalmente, le pesó el oro refinado destinado a la construcción del altar del incienso y para hacer los querubines de oro con sus alas extendidas sobre el cofre del pacto del Señor.
19«Cada parte de este plano —expresó David a Salomón— me fue dada por escrito de mano del Señor.
20Sé enérgico y valiente y pon manos a la obra —añadió—. No te amedrentes por lo grande de la tarea, porque el Señor mi Dios está contigo, y no te abandonará, y él hará que cada detalle sea llevado a feliz término.
21Y estos diversos grupos de sacerdotes y levitas servirán en el templo de Dios. Otros con habilidades de toda índole actuarán como voluntarios, y los oficiales y el pueblo entero estarán bajo tu mando».

1Y JUNTÓ David en Jerusalem á todos los principales de Israel, los príncipes de las tribus, y los jefes de las divisiones que servían al rey, los tribunos y centuriones, con los superintendentes de toda la hacienda y posesión del rey, y sus hijos, con los eunucos, los poderosos, y todos sus hombres valientes.
2Y levantándose el rey David, puesto en pie dijo: Oidme, hermanos míos, y pueblo mío. Yo tenía en propósito edificar una casa, para que en ella reposara el arca del pacto de Jehová, y para el estrado de los pies de nuestro Dios; y había ya aprestado todo para edificar.
3Mas Dios me dijo: Tú no edificarás casa á mi nombre: porque eres hombre de guerra, y has derramado mucha sangre.
4Empero Jehová el Dios de Israel me eligió de toda la casa de mi padre, para que perpetuamente fuese rey sobre Israel: porque á Judá escogió por caudillo, y de la casa de Judá la familia de mi padre; y de entre los hijos de mi padre agradóse de mí para ponerme por rey sobre todo Israel;
5Y de todos mis hijos (porque Jehová me ha dado muchos hijos,) eligió á mi hijo Salomón para que se siente en el trono del reino de Jehová sobre Israel.
6Y me ha dicho: Salomón tu hijo, él edificará mi casa y mis atrios: porque á éste me he escogido por hijo, y yo le seré á él por padre.
7Asimismo yo confirmaré su reino para siempre, si él se esforzare á poner por obra mis mandamientos y mis juicios, como aqueste día.
8Ahora pues, delante de lo ojos de todo Israel, congregación de Jehová, y en oídos de nuestro Dios, guardad é inquirid todos los preceptos de Jehová vuestro Dios, para que poseáis la buena tierra, y la dejéis por heredad á vuestros hijos después de vosotros perpetuamente.
9Y tú, Salomón, hijo mío, conoce al Dios de tu padre, y sírvele con corazón perfecto, y con ánimo voluntario; porque Jehová escudriña los corazones de todos, y entiende toda imaginación de los pensamientos. Si tú le buscares, lo hallarás; mas si lo dejares, él te desechará para siempre.
10Mira, pues, ahora que Jehová te ha elegido para que edifiques casa para santuario: esfuérzate, y hazla.
11Y David dió á Salomón su hijo la traza del pórtico, y de sus casas, y de sus oficinas, y de sus salas, y de sus recámaras, y de la casa del propiciatorio.
12Asimismo la traza de todas las cosas que tenía en su voluntad, para los atrios de la casa de Jehová, y para todas las cámaras en derredor, para los tesoros de la casa de Dios, y para los tesoros de las cosas santificadas:
13También para los órdenes de los sacerdotes y de los Levitas, y para toda la obra del ministerio de la casa de Jehová, y para todos los vasos del ministerio de la casa de Jehová.
14Y dió oro por peso para lo de oro, para todos los vasos de cada servicio: y plata por peso para todos los vasos, para todos los vasos de cada servicio.
15Oro por peso para los candeleros de oro, y para sus candilejas; por peso el oro para cada candelero y sus candilejas: y para los candeleros de plata, plata por peso para el candelero y sus candilejas, conforme al servicio de cada candelero.
16Asimismo dió oro por peso para las mesas de la proposición, para cada mesa: del mismo modo plata para las mesas de plata:
17También oro puro para los garfios y para las palanganas, y para los incensarios, y para los tazones de oro, para cada tazón por peso; y para los tazones de plata, por peso para cada tazón:
18Además, oro puro por peso para el altar del perfume, y para el á manera de carro de los querubines de oro, que con las alas extendidas cubrían el arca del pacto de Jehová.
19Todas estas cosas, dijo David, se me han representado por la mano de Jehová que me hizo entender todas las obras del diseño.
20Dijo más David á Salomón su hijo: Anímate y esfuérzate, y ponlo por obra; no temas, ni desmayes, porque el Dios Jehová, mi Dios, será contigo: él no te dejará, ni te desamparará, hasta que acabes toda la obra para el servicio de la casa de Jehová.
21He aquí los órdenes de los sacerdotes y de los Levitas, para todo el ministerio de la casa de Dios, serán contigo en toda la obra: asimismo todos los voluntarios é inteligentes para cualquiera especie de industria; y los príncipes, y todo el pueblo para ejecutar todas tus órdenes.

1And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem.
2Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:
3But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood.
4Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel:
5And of all my sons, (for the LORD hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.
6And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.
7Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day.
8Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever.
9And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
10Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.
11Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner parlours thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat,
12And the pattern of all that he had by the spirit, of the courts of the house of the LORD, and of all the chambers round about, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries of the dedicated things:
13Also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and for all the vessels of service in the house of the LORD.
14He gave of gold by weight for things of gold, for all instruments of all manner of service; silver also for all instruments of silver by weight, for all instruments of every kind of service:
15Even the weight for the candlesticks of gold, and for their lamps of gold, by weight for every candlestick, and for the lamps thereof: and for the candlesticks of silver by weight, both for the candlestick, and also for the lamps thereof, according to the use of every candlestick.
16And by weight he gave gold for the tables of shewbread, for every table; and likewise silver for the tables of silver:
17Also pure gold for the fleshhooks, and the bowls, and the cups: and for the golden basons he gave gold by weight for every bason; and likewise silver by weight for every bason of silver:
18And for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the cherubims, that spread out their wings, and covered the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
19All this, said David, the LORD made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern.
20And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.
21And, behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with thee for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with thee for all manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: also the princes and all the people will be wholly at thy commandment.

1David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, the captains of the companies who served the king by division, the captains of thousands, the captains of hundreds, and the rulers over all the substance and possessions of the king and of his sons, with the officers and the mighty men, even all the mighty men of valor, to Jerusalem.
2Then David the king stood up on his feet and said, “Hear me, my brothers and my people! As for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the LORD’s covenant, and for the footstool of our God; and I had prepared for the building.
3But God said to me, ‘You shall not build a house for my name, because you are a man of war and have shed blood.’
4However the LORD, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.
5Of all my sons (for the LORD has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the LORD’s kingdom over Israel.
6He said to me, ‘Solomon, your son, shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.
7I will establish his kingdom forever if he continues to do my commandments and my ordinances, as it is today.’
8Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the LORD’s assembly, and in the audience of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of the LORD your God, that you may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children after you forever.
9You, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.
10Take heed now, for the LORD has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary. Be strong, and do it.”
11Then David gave to Solomon his son the plans for the porch of the temple, for its houses, for its treasuries, for its upper rooms, for its inner rooms, for the place of the mercy seat;
12and the plans of all that he had by the Spirit, for the courts of the LORD’s house, for all the surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of God’s house, and for the treasuries of the dedicated things;
13also for the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for all the work of the service of the LORD’s house, and for all the vessels of service in the LORD’s house—
14of gold by weight for the gold for all vessels of every kind of service, for all the vessels of silver by weight, for all vessels of every kind of service;
15by weight also for the lamp stands of gold, and for its lamps, of gold, by weight for every lamp stand and for its lamps; and for the lamp stands of silver, by weight for every lamp stand and for its lamps, according to the use of every lamp stand;
16and the gold by weight for the tables of show bread, for every table; and silver for the tables of silver;
17and the forks, the basins, and the cups, of pure gold; and for the golden bowls by weight for every bowl; and for the silver bowls by weight for every bowl;
18and for the altar of incense, refined gold by weight; and gold for the plans for the chariot, and the cherubim that spread out and cover the ark of the LORD’s covenant.
19“All this”, David said, “I have been made to understand in writing from the LORD’s hand, even all the works of this pattern.”
20David said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do it. Don’t be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD God, even my God, is with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you, until all the work for the service of the LORD’s house is finished.
21Behold, there are the divisions of the priests and the Levites for all the service of God’s house. Every willing man who has skill for any kind of service shall be with you in all kinds of work. Also the captains and all the people will be entirely at your command.”
