1Los hijos de Judá: Fares, Esrom, Carmi, Hur y Sobal.
2Reaías, hijo de Sobal, fue padre de Jahat, y Jahat fue padre de Ahumai y Lahad. Estas son las familias de los zoratitas.
3Estos fueron los hijos del padre de Etam: Jezreel, Isma e Idbas. El nombre de su hermana era Hazezelelponi.
4Penuel fue padre de Gedor y Ezer padre de Husa. Estos son los hijos de Hur, primogénito de Efrata, padre de Belén.
5Asur, padre de Tecoa, tuvo dos esposas, Hela y Naara.
6Naara le dio a luz a Ahuzam, Hefer, Temeni y Ahasari. Estos fueron los hijos de Naara.
7Los hijos de Hela fueron Zeret, Izhar y Etnán.
8Cos fue padre de Anub, Zobeba y las familias de Aharhel, hijo de Harum.
9Jabes era más respetado que sus hermanos. Su madre le puso el nombre de Jabes, diciendo: “Porque lo tuve con dolor”.
10Jabes invocó al Dios de Israel, diciendo: “¡Te ruego que me bendigas y ensanches mi territorio! Que tu mano esté conmigo, y que me guardes del mal, para que no me cause dolor”. Dios le concedió lo que pidió.
11Quelub, hermano de Súa, fue padre de Mehir, quien fue padre de Estón.
12Estón fue padre de Bet Rafa, Paseah, y Tehina fue padre de Ir Nahas. Estos son los hombres de Reca.
13Los hijos de Cenaz: Otoniel y Seraías. Los hijos de Otoniel: Hatat.
14Meonotai fue padre de Ofra; y Seraías fue padre de Joab, el padre del valle de los artesanos, porque a eso se dedicaban.
15Los hijos de Caleb, hijo de Jefone: Iru, Ela y Naam. El hijo de Ela: Cenaz.
16Los hijos de Jehalelel: Zif, Zifa, Tiria y Asarel.
17Los hijos de Esdras: Jeter, Mered, Efer y Jalón; y la esposa de Mered dio a luz a Miriam, a Samai y a Isba, padre de Estemoa.
18Su esposa, la judía, dio a luz a Jered, padre de Gedor, a Heber, padre de Soco, y a Jecutiel, padre de Zanoa. Estos son los hijos de Bitia, hija del faraón, con la que se casó Mered.
19Los hijos de la esposa de Hodías, hermana de Naham, fueron los padres de Keila el garmita y de Estemoa el maacateo.
20Los hijos de Simón: Amnón, Rina, Ben Hanán y Tilón. Los hijos de Isi: Zohet y Ben Zohet.
21Los hijos de Sela, hijo de Judá: Er padre de Leca, Laada padre de Maresa, y las familias de la casa de los que trabajaban el lino fino, de la casa de Asbea;
22y Joquim, y los hombres de Cozeba, y Joás, y Saraf, que dominaron en Moab, y Jasubilehem. Estos registros son muy antiguos.
23Estos eran los alfareros y los habitantes de Netaim y Gedera; vivían allí con el rey para trabajar para él.
24Los hijos de Simeón: Nemuel, Jamín, Jarib, Zera, Saúl;
25Su hijo Salum, su hijo Mibsam y su hijo Misma.
26Los hijos de Misma: Hamuel su hijo, Zacur su hijo, Simei su hijo.
27Simei tuvo dieciséis hijos y seis hijas; pero sus hermanos no tuvieron muchos hijos, y toda su familia no se multiplicó tanto como los hijos de Judá.
28Vivían en Beerseba, Molada, Hazar-sual,
29en Bilha, en Ezem, en Tolad,
30en Betuel, en Horma, en Siclag,
31en Bet Marcabot, Hazar Susim, en Bet Biri y en Saaraim. Estas fueron sus ciudades hasta el reinado de David.
32Sus aldeas eran Etam, Ain, Rimón, Toquén y Asán, cinco ciudades;
33y todas sus aldeas que estaban alrededor de estas mismas ciudades, hasta Baal. Estos fueron sus asentamientos, y conservaron su genealogía.
34Mesobab, Jamlec, Josías hijo de Amasías,
35Joel, Jehú hijo de Josibías, hijo de Seraías, hijo de Asiel,
36Elioenai, Jaacoba, Jesohaía, Asaías, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaía,
37y Ziza hijo de Sifi, hijo de Alón, hijo de Jedaías, hijo de Simri, hijo de Semaías:
38estos mencionados por su nombre eran príncipes en sus familias. Las familias de sus padres aumentaron mucho.
39Fueron a la entrada de Gedor, al lado oriental del valle, para buscar pastos para sus rebaños.
40Encontraron ricos y buenos pastos, y la tierra era amplia, tranquila y apacible, porque los que vivían allí antes eran descendientes de Cam.
41Estos registrados por su nombre vinieron en los días de Ezequías, rey de Judá, y atacaron sus campamentos y a los meunitas que allí se encontraban, y los destruyeron por completo hasta el día de hoy, y se quedaron a vivir en su lugar, porque allí había pastos para sus rebaños.
42Algunos de ellos, de los descendientes de Simeón, quinientos hombres, se fueron al monte de Seir, guiados por Pelatías, Nearías, Refaías y Uziel, hijos de Isi.
43Acabaron con el resto de los amalecitas que habían escapado, y han vivido allí hasta el día de hoy.

2Y Reaias hijo de Sobal, engendró á Jahath; y Jahath engendró á Ahumai y á Laad. Estas son las familias de los Sorathitas.
3Y estas son las del padre de Etham: Jezreel, Isma, é Ibdas. Y el nombre de su hermana fué Haslelponi.
4Y Penuel fué padre de Gedor, y Ezer padre de Husa. Estos fueron los hijos de Hur, primogénito de Ephrata, padre de Beth-lehem.
5Y Asur padre de Tecoa tuvo dos mujeres, á saber, Helea, y Naara.
6Y Naara le parió á Auzam, y á Hepher, á Themeni, y á Ahastari. Estos fueron los hijos de Naara.
7Y los hijos de Helea: Sereth, Jesohar, Ethnán.
8Y Cos engendró á Anob, y á Sobeba, y la familia de Aharhel hijo de Arum.
9Y Jabes fué más ilustre que sus hermanos, al cual su madre llamó Jabes, diciendo: Por cuanto le parí en dolor.
10E invocó Jabes al Dios de Israel, diciendo: ¡Oh si me dieras bendición, y ensancharas mi término, y si tu mano fuera conmigo, y me libraras de mal, que no me dañe! E hizo Dios que le viniese lo que pidió.
11Y Caleb hermano de Sua engendró á Machîr, el cual fué padre de Esthón.
12Y Esthón engendró á Beth-rapha, á Phasea, y á Tehinna, padre de la ciudad de Naas: estos son los varones de Rechâ.
13Los hijos de Cenes: Othniel, y Seraiah. Los hijos de Othniel: Hathath,
14Y Maonathi, el cual engendró á Ophra: y Seraiah engendró á Joab, padre de los habitantes en el valle llamado de Carisim, porque fueron artífices.
15Los hijos de Caleb hijo de Jephone: Iru, Ela, y Naham; é hijo de Ela, fué Cenez.
16Los hijos de Jaleleel: Zip, Ziphas, Tirias, y Asareel.
17Y los hijos de Ezra: Jeter, Mered, Epher, y Jalón: también engendró á Mariam, y Sammai, y á Isba, padre de Esthemoa.
18Y su mujer Judaía le parió á Jered padre de Gedor, y á Heber padre de Sochô, y á Icuthiel padre de Zanoa. Estos fueron los hijos de Bethia hija de Faraón, con la cual casó Mered.
19Y los hijos de la mujer de Odías, hermana de Naham, fueron el padre de Keila de Garmi, y Esthemoa de Maachâti.
20Y los hijos de Simón: Amnón, y Rinna, hijo de Hanán, y Tilón. Y los hijos de Isi: Zoheth, y Benzoheth.
21Los hijos de Sela, hijo de Judá: Er, padre de Lechâ, y Laada, padre de Maresa, y de la familia de la casa del oficio del lino en la casa de Asbea;
22Y Joacim, y los varones de Chôzeba, y Joas, y Saraph, los cuales moraron en Moab, y Jasubi-lehem, que son palabras antiguas.
23Estos fueron alfareros y se hallaban en medio de plantíos y cercados, los cuales moraron allá con el rey en su obra.
24Los hijos de Simeón: Nemuel, Jamín, Jarib, Zera, Saúl;
25También Sallum su hijo, Mibsam su hijo, y Misma su hijo.
26Los hijos de Misma: Hamuel su hijo, Zachûr su hijo, y Simi su hijo.
27Los hijos de Simi fueron diez y seis, y seis hijas: mas sus hermanos no tuvieron muchos hijos, ni multiplicaron toda su familia como los hijos de Judá.
28Y habitaron en Beer-seba, y en Molada, y en Hasar-sual,
29Y en Bala, y en Esem, y en Tholad,
30Y en Bethuel, y en Horma, y en Siclag,
31Y en Beth-marchâboth, y en Hasasusim, y en Beth-birai, y en Saaraim. Estas fueron sus ciudades hasta el reino de David.
32Y sus aldeas fueron Etam, Ain, Rimmón, y Tochên, y Asán, cinco pueblos;
33Y todos su villajes que estaban en contorno de estas ciudades hasta Baal. Esta fué su habitación, y esta su descendencia.
34Y Mesobab, y Jamlech, y Josías hijo de Amasías;
35Joel, y Jehú hijo de Josibias, hijo de Seraíah, hijo de Aziel;
36Y Elioenai, Jacoba, Jesohaía, Asaías, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaías;
37Y Ziza hijo de Siphi, hijo de Allón, hijo de Jedaía, hijo de Simri, hijo de Semaías.
38Estos por sus nombres son los principales que vinieron en sus familias, y que fueron multiplicados muy mucho en las casas de sus padres.
39Y llegaron hasta la entrada de Gador hasta el oriente del valle, buscando pastos para sus ganados.
40Y hallaron gruesos y buenos pastos, y tierra ancha y espaciosa, y quieta y reposada, porque los de Châm la habitaban de antes.
41Y estos que han sido escritos por sus nombres, vinieron en días de Ezechîas rey de Judá, y desbarataron sus tiendas y estancias que allí hallaron, y destruyéronlos, hasta hoy, y habitaron allí en lugar de ellos; por cuanto había allí pastos para sus ganados.
42Y asimismo quinientos hombres de ellos, de los hijos de Simeón, se fueron al monte de Seir, llevando por capitanes á Pelatía, y á Nearías, y á Rephaías, y á Uzziel, hijos de Isi;
43E hirieron á las reliquias que habían quedado de Amalec, y habitaron allí hasta hoy.

2And Reaiah the son of Shobal begat Jahath; and Jahath begat Ahumai, and Lahad. These are the families of the Zorathites.
3And these were of the father of Etam; Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash: and the name of their sister was Hazelelponi:
4And Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah, the father of Beth-lehem.
5And Ashur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.
6And Naarah bare him Ahuzam, and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah.
7And the sons of Helah were, Zereth, and Jezoar, and Ethnan.
8And Coz begat Anub, and Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.
9And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.
10And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
11And Chelub the brother of Shuah begat Mehir, which was the father of Eshton.
12And Eshton begat Beth-rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Ir-nahash. These are the men of Rechah.
13And the sons of Kenaz; Othniel, and Seraiah: and the sons of Othniel; Hathath.
14And Meonothai begat Ophrah: and Seraiah begat Joab, the father of the valley of Charashim; for they were craftsmen.
15And the sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh; Iru, Elah, and Naam: and the sons of Elah, even Kenaz.
16And the sons of Jehaleleel; Ziph, and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asareel.
17And the sons of Ezra were, Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon: and she bare Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
18And his wife Jehudijah bare Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Socho, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. And these are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, which Mered took.
19And the sons of his wife Hodiah the sister of Naham, the father of Keilah the Garmite, and Eshtemoa the Maachathite.
20And the sons of Shimon were, Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben-hanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi were, Zoheth, and Ben-zoheth.
21The sons of Shelah the son of Judah were, Er the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of them that wrought fine linen, of the house of Ashbea,

23These were the potters, and those that dwelt among plants and hedges: there they dwelt with the king for his work.

41And these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents, and the habitations that were found there, and destroyed them utterly unto this day, and dwelt in their rooms: because there was pasture there for their flocks.
42And some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.
43And they smote the rest of the Amalekites that were escaped, and dwelt there unto this day.

42Some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to Mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.
43They struck the remnant of the Amalekites who escaped, and have lived there to this day.
