Alle Israeliten wurden nach den Geschlechtern in ein Verzeichnis eingetragen; sie finden sich bekanntlich im Buche der Könige von Israel aufgezeichnet. Die Judäer aber wurden wegen ihres treulosen Abfalls nach Babylon (in die Gefangenschaft) geführt.
