Und wenn ich alle meine Habe (an die Armen) austeilte und meinen Leib dem Feuertode preisgäbe, aber keine Liebe besäße, so würde es mir nichts nützen.

Y si repartiese toda mi hacienda para dar de comer á pobres, y si entregase mi cuerpo para ser quemado, y no tengo caridad, de nada me sirve.

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
