Si hablo las lenguas de los hombres y de los ángeles, y no tengo amor, soy como metal que resuena, o campana de gran voz.
SI yo hablase lenguas humanas y angélicas, y no tengo caridad, vengo á ser como metal que resuena, ó címbalo que retiñe.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
Y si tengo el poder de un profeta, y tengo conocimiento de todas las cosas secretas; y si tengo toda la fe, por la cual las montañas pueden moverse de su lugar, pero no tengo amor, no soy nada.
Y si tuviese profecía, y entendiese todos los misterios y toda ciencia; y si tuviese toda la fe, de tal manera que traspasase los montes, y no tengo caridad, nada soy.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Los caminos del amor son siempre justos, no busca los suyo; no se enoja rápidamente, no guarda rencor;
No es injuriosa, no busca lo suyo, no se irrita, no piensa el mal;
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil;
No se complace en hacer mal, sino que se alegra de lo que es verdadero;
No se huelga de la injusticia, mas se huelga de la verdad;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

El amor tiene el poder de sufrir todas las cosas, todo lo cree, todo lo espera, todo lo soporta.

El amor nunca deja de ser; pero las profecías se acabarán, las lenguas cesarán, y el conocimiento se acabará.
La caridad nunca deja de ser: mas las profecías se han de acabar, y cesarán las lenguas, y la ciencia ha de ser quitada;
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.
Porque nuestro conocimiento es sólo en parte, y la palabra del profeta solo da una parte de lo que es verdadero:
Porque en parte conocemos, y en parte profetizamos;
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part;
Pero cuando lo que es perfecto venga, entonces lo que es en parte se acabará.
Mas cuando venga lo que es perfecto, entonces lo que es en parte será quitado.
But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with.
Cuando era niño, usé el lenguaje de un niño, tuve los sentimientos de un niño y los pensamientos de un niño: ahora que soy hombre, dejé atrás lo que era propio de un niño.
Cuando yo era niño, hablaba como niño, pensaba como niño, juzgaba como niño; mas cuando ya fuí hombre hecho, dejé lo que era de niño.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Porque ahora vemos cosas borrosas como en un espejo, a oscuras; pero luego lo veremos cara a cara: ahora mi conocimiento es en parte; pero un día lo conoceré todo del mismo modo que Dios me conoce a mí.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Pero ahora todavía tenemos fe, esperanza, amor, estos tres; y el mayor de estos es el amor.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
