SI yo hablase lenguas humanas y angélicas, y no tengo caridad, vengo á ser como metal que resuena, ó címbalo que retiñe.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Wenn aber kommen wird das Vollkommene, so wird das Stückwerk aufhören.
Y si tuviese profecía, y entendiese todos los misterios y toda ciencia; y si tuviese toda la fe, de tal manera que traspasase los montes, y no tengo caridad, nada soy.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Y si repartiese toda mi hacienda para dar de comer á pobres, y si entregase mi cuerpo para ser quemado, y no tengo caridad, de nada me sirve.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

Wir sehen jetzt durch einen Spiegel in einem dunklen Wort, dann aber von Angesicht zu Angesichte. Jetzt erkenne ich's stückweise; dann aber werde ich erkennen, gleichwie ich erkannt bin.
La caridad es sufrida, es benigna; la caridad no tiene envidia, la caridad no hace sinrazón, no se ensancha;
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Love is patient and is kind. Love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud,
Nun aber bleibt Glaube, Hoffnung, Liebe, diese drei; aber die Liebe ist die größte unter ihnen.
No es injuriosa, no busca lo suyo, no se irrita, no piensa el mal;
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil;
Strebet nach der Liebe! Fleißiget euch der geistlichen Gaben, am meisten aber, daß ihr weissagen möget.

Denn der mit der Zunge redet, der redet nicht den Menschen, sondern Gott. Denn ihm höret niemand zu; im Geist aber redet er die Geheimnisse.
Todo lo sufre, todo lo cree, todo lo espera, todo lo soporta.
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Wer aber weissaget, der redet den Menschen zur Besserung und zur Ermahnung und zur Tröstung.
La caridad nunca deja de ser: mas las profecías se han de acabar, y cesarán las lenguas, y la ciencia ha de ser quitada;
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.
Wer mit Zungen redet, der bessert sich selbst; wer aber weissaget, der bessert die Gemeinde.
Porque en parte conocemos, y en parte profetizamos;
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

Ich wollte, daß ihr alle mit Zungen reden könntet, aber viel mehr, daß ihr weissagetet. Denn der da weissaget, ist größer, denn der mit Zungen redet, es sei denn, daß er es auch auslege, daß die Gemeinde davon gebessert werde.
Mas cuando venga lo que es perfecto, entonces lo que es en parte será quitado.
But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with.
Nun aber, liebe Brüder, wenn ich zu euch käme und redete mit Zungen, was wäre ich euch nütze, so ich nicht mit euch redete entweder durch Offenbarung oder durch Erkenntnis oder durch Weissagung oder durch Lehre?
Cuando yo era niño, hablaba como niño, pensaba como niño, juzgaba como niño; mas cuando ya fuí hombre hecho, dejé lo que era de niño.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Hält sich's doch auch also in den Dingen, die da lauten und doch nicht leben, es sei eine Pfeife oder eine Harfe; wenn sie nicht unterschiedliche Stimmen von sich geben, wie kann man wissen, was gepfiffen oder geharfet ist?
Ahora vemos por espejo, en obscuridad; mas entonces veremos cara á cara: ahora conozco en parte; mas entonces conoceré como soy conocido.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Und so die Posaune einen undeutlichen Ton gibt, wer will sich zum Streit rüsten?
Y ahora permanecen la fe, la esperanza, y la caridad, estas tres: empero la mayor de ellas es la caridad.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love.
