Entretanto, aquele que tem o dom de falar em línguas está falando a Deus, não aos outros, visto que eles não podem compreendê-lo. Ele está falando pelo poder do Espírito, fala em mistérios.
Porque el que habla en lenguas, no habla á los hombres, sino á Dios; porque nadie le entiende, aunque en espíritu hable misterios.
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
For he who speaks in another language speaks not to men, but to God, for no one understands, but in the Spirit he speaks mysteries.
Entretanto, aquele que profetiza, anunciando as mensagens de Deus, está ajudando os outros a crescer no Senhor, animando-os e confortando-os.
Mas el que profetiza, habla á los hombres para edificación, y exhortación, y consolación.
But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, exhortation, and consolation.
Uma pessoa que fala em línguas está edificando-se a si mesma, porém quem profetiza edifica toda a igreja.
El que habla lengua extraña, á sí mismo se edifica; mas el que profetiza, edifica á la iglesia.
He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
He who speaks in another language edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the assembly.
Eu gostaria que todos vocês tivessem o dom de falar em línguas, porém desejaria ainda mais que todos fossem capazes de profetizar, anunciando mensagens de Deus, pois este é um poder maior e mais útil do que falar em línguas desconhecidas; a não ser que alguém interprete as línguas, a fim de que a igreja possa tirar proveito disso.
Así que, quisiera que todos vosotros hablaseis lenguas, empero más que profetizaseis: porque mayor es el que profetiza que el que habla lenguas, si también no interpretare, para que la iglesia tome edificación.
I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
Now I desire to have you all speak with other languages, but even more that you would prophesy. For he is greater who prophesies than he who speaks with other languages, unless he interprets, that the assembly may be built up.
Queridos amigos, ainda que eu mesmo fosse visitá-los falando em línguas, como é que isso os ajudaria? Entretanto, se eu falar com simplicidade o que Deus me revelou, contando-lhes as coisas de que tenho conhecimento, ou uma profecia, bem como as grandes verdades da Palavra de Deus, isso os ajudaria.
Ahora pues, hermanos, si yo fuere á vosotros hablando lenguas, ¿qué os aprovecharé, si no os hablare, ó con revelación, ó con ciencia, ó con profecía, ó con doctrina?
Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
But now, brothers, if I come to you speaking with other languages, what would I profit you unless I speak to you either by way of revelation, or of knowledge, or of prophesying, or of teaching?
Mesmo os instrumentos musicais — tais como a flauta ou a harpa — são exemplos da necessidade de tocar sons claros. Pois ninguém reconhecerá a melodia que a flauta está tocando, a não ser que cada nota soe bem claro.
Ciertamente las cosas inanimadas que hacen sonidos, como la flauta ó la vihuela, si no dieren distinción de voces, ¿cómo se sabrá lo que se tañe con la flauta, ó con la vihuela?
And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
Even lifeless things that make a sound, whether pipe or harp, if they didn’t give a distinction in the sounds, how would it be known what is piped or harped?
E se o corneteiro do exército não tocar as notas certas, como é que os soldados saberão que estão sendo chamados para a batalha?
Y si la trompeta diere sonido incierto, ¿quién se apercibirá á la batalla?
For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
For if the trumpet gave an uncertain sound, who would prepare himself for war?
Do mesmo modo, se vocês falarem palavras que não são compreensíveis, como alguém saberá o que vocês querem dizer? Seria a mesma coisa que falar ao vento.
Así también vosotros, si por la lengua no diereis palabra bien significante, ¿cómo se entenderá lo que se dice? porque hablaréis al aire.
So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.
So also you, unless you uttered by the tongue words easy to understand, how would it be known what is spoken? For you would be speaking into the air.
Há muitas línguas diferentes neste mundo, e todas são excelentes para aqueles que as compreendem:
Tantos géneros de voces, por ejemplo, hay en el mundo, y nada hay mudo;
There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.
There are, it may be, so many kinds of languages in the world, and none of them is without meaning.
para mim, porém, não significam nada. Uma pessoa que me fale numa dessas línguas será um estranho para mim, e eu também serei um estranho para ela.
Mas si yo ignorare el valor de la voz, seré bárbaro al que habla, y el que habla será bárbaro para mí.
Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.
If then I don’t know the meaning of the language, I would be to him who speaks a foreigner, and he who speaks would be a foreigner to me.
Já que vocês se encontram tão ansiosos para receber dons especiais do Espírito Santo, peçam-lhe aqueles que serão de ajuda real para toda a igreja.
Así también vosotros; pues que anheláis espirituales dones, procurad ser excelentes para la edificación de la iglesia.
Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.
So also you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, seek that you may abound to the building up of the assembly.
Se alguém receber o dom de falar línguas desconhecidas, deverá orar também pelo dom para interpretar essa língua, a fim de que possa depois explicar ao povo o que foi dito na língua desconhecida.
Por lo cual, el que habla lengua extraña, pida que la interprete.
Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
Therefore let him who speaks in another language pray that he may interpret.
Porque, se eu orar numa língua que não compreendo, meu espírito estará orando, mas a minha mente não saberá o que estou dizendo.
Porque si yo orare en lengua desconocida, mi espíritu ora; mas mi entendimiento es sin fruto.
For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
For if I pray in another language, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
Bem, então que devo fazer? Farei as duas coisas. Orarei em línguas desconhecidas e também no idioma comum que todos compreendem. Cantarei em línguas desconhecidas e também no idioma comum.
¿Qué pues? Oraré con el espíritu, mas oraré también con entendimiento; cantaré con el espíritu, mas cantaré también con entendimiento.
What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
What should I do? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also. I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
Pois, se vocês louvarem e agradecerem a Deus só em espírito, como podem aqueles que não compreendem vocês estar louvando a Deus junto com vocês? Como eles se unirão a vocês para dar graças, quando não sabem o que vocês estão dizendo?
Porque si bendijeres con el espíritu, el que ocupa lugar de un mero particular, ¿cómo dirá amén á tu acción de gracias? pues no sabe lo que has dicho.
Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?
Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who fills the place of the unlearned say the “Amen” at your giving of thanks, seeing he doesn’t know what you say?
Não há dúvida, que vocês estarão dando graças primorosamente, porém as outras pessoas presentes não estarão sendo ajudadas.
Porque tú, á la verdad, bien haces gracias; mas el otro no es edificado.
For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
For you most certainly give thanks well, but the other person is not built up.
Dou graças a Deus porque falo em línguas mais do que vocês todos.
Doy gracias á Dios que hablo lenguas más que todos vosotros:
I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
I thank my God, I speak with other languages more than you all.
No entanto, no culto público eu prefiro falar cinco palavras que o povo possa compreender e ser auxiliado por elas a falar dez mil palavras falando em línguas num idioma desconhecido.
Pero en la iglesia más quiero hablar cinco palabras con mi sentido, para que enseñe también á los otros, que diez mil palabras en lengua desconocida.
Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
However, in the assembly I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in another language.
Queridos irmãos, não sejam infantis na compreensão dessas coisas. Sejam criancinhas inocentes quando se trata de maquinar o mal, porém sejam adultos inteligentes na compreensão de assuntos dessa espécie.
Hermanos, no seáis niños en el sentido, sino sed niños en la malicia: empero perfectos en el sentido.
Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
Brothers, don’t be children in thoughts, yet in malice be babies, but in thoughts be mature.
Pois está escrito na Lei: “Por meio de pessoas que falam em outras línguas eu falarei a este povo. Falarei por meio de lábios de estrangeiros, mas mesmo assim o meu povo não me ouvirá”, diz o Senhor.
En la ley está escrito: En otras lenguas y en otros labios hablaré á este pueblo; y ni aun así me oirán, dice el Señor.
In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
In the law it is written, “By men of strange languages and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people. They won’t even listen to me that way, says the Lord.”
Assim, o falar em línguas não é um sinal para os que creem, mas sim um sinal para os descrentes. A profecia, por sua vez, é para os que creem, não para os descrentes.
Así que, las lenguas por señal son, no á los fieles, sino á los infieles: mas la profecía, no á los infieles, sino á los fieles.
Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
Therefore other languages are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to the unbelieving; but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to those who believe.
Assim, se uma pessoa ainda não é salva, ou alguém que não tem esses dons, vai à igreja e ouve todos vocês falando em outras línguas, não dirá que vocês estão loucos?
De manera que, si toda la iglesia se juntare en uno, y todos hablan lenguas, y entran indoctos ó infieles, ¿no dirán que estáis locos?
If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
If therefore the whole assembly is assembled together and all speak with other languages, and unlearned or unbelieving people come in, won’t they say that you are crazy?
Mas, se todos vocês profetizarem, anunciando a Palavra de Deus, e entrar um descrente, ou crente novo que não compreende essas coisas, isso o convencerá de que ele é um pecador, e ele será julgado pelo que ouvir.
Mas si todos profetizan, y entra algún infiel ó indocto, de todos es convencido, de todos es juzgado;
But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all.
Enquanto ele ouve, seus pensamentos secretos serão postos a descoberto e ele cairá de joelhos e adorará a Deus, exclamando: “Deus realmente está no meio de vocês!”
Lo oculto de su corazón se hace manifiesto: y así, postrándose sobre el rostro, adorará á Dios, declarando que verdaderamente Dios está en vosotros.
And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed.
Bem, meus irmãos, o que vamos dizer? Quando vocês se reúnem, alguém terá um salmo, outro ensinará, outro transmitirá alguma informação especial que Deus lhe deu, outro falará numa língua desconhecida, ou explicará o que está falando na língua desconhecida. Tudo deve ser feito para o crescimento espiritual da igreja.
¿Qué hay pues, hermanos? Cuando os juntáis, cada uno de vosotros tiene salmo, tiene doctrina, tiene lengua, tiene revelación, tiene interpretación: hágase todo para edificación.
How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
What is it then, brothers? When you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has another language, or has an interpretation. Let all things be done to build each other up.
Se falarem em línguas desconhecidas, não mais do que dois ou três devem falar. E é preciso que fale um de cada vez, e que alguém esteja preparado para interpretar o que eles estão dizendo.
Si hablare alguno en lengua extraña, sea esto por dos, ó á lo más tres, y por turno; mas uno interprete.
If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
If any man speaks in another language, let there be two, or at the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret.
Entretanto, se não estiver presente ninguém que possa interpretar, não devem falar em voz alta na igreja. Poderão falar silenciosamente para si mesmos e para Deus na língua desconhecida.
Y si no hubiere intérprete, calle en la iglesia, y hable á sí mismo y á Dios.
But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the assembly, and let him speak to himself and to God.
Dois ou três podem profetizar, um de cada vez, se tiverem esse dom, enquanto todos os outros escutam e julgam cuidadosamente o que foi dito.
Asimismo, los profetas hablen dos ó tres, y los demás juzguen.
Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
Let two or three of the prophets speak, and let the others discern.
Contudo, se enquanto alguém está profetizando, outro receber uma mensagem ou uma revelação do Senhor, então cale-se o primeiro e fique em silêncio.
Y si á otro que estuviere sentado, fuere revelado, calle el primero.
If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
But if a revelation is made to another sitting by, let the first keep silent.
Dessa maneira podem falar todos quantos têm o dom de profecia, um depois do outro, e todos aprenderão e serão instruídos e encorajados.
Porque podéis todos profetizar uno por uno, para que todos aprendan, y todos sean exhortados.
For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
For you all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be exhorted.
Lembrem-se que uma pessoa que tem o dom de profecia para anunciar uma mensagem de Deus tem a capacidade de conter-se ou esperar a sua vez.
Y los espíritus de los que profetizaren, sujétense á los profetas;
And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets,
Pois Deus não é um Deus de desordem, mas de paz. Como em todas as igrejas dos santos,
Porque Dios no es Dios de disensión, sino de paz; como en todas las iglesias de los santos.
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the saints.
as mulheres devem permanecer em silêncio durante as reuniões da igreja. Não devem tomar parte na discussão, porque elas devem permanecer em submissão, como diz a Lei.
Vuestras mujeres callen en las congregaciones; porque no les es permitido hablar, sino que estén sujetas, como también la ley dice.
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
Let the wives be quiet in the assemblies, for it has not been permitted for them to be talking except in submission, as the law also says,
Se tiverem alguma pergunta, façam aos maridos em casa, pois é inconveniente as mulheres expressarem suas opiniões nas reuniões da igreja.
Y si quieren aprender alguna cosa, pregunten en casa á sus maridos; porque deshonesta cosa es hablar una mujer en la congregación.
And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
if they desire to learn anything. “Let them ask their own husbands at home, for it is shameful for a wife to be talking in the assembly.”
Vocês discordam? Vocês estão pensando que o conhecimento da vontade divina começa e termina com vocês?
Qué, ¿ha salido de vosotros la palabra de Dios? ¿ó á vosotros solos ha llegado?
What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
What!? Was it from you that the word of God went out? Or did it come to you alone?
Você que diz ter o dom de profecia ou qualquer outro dom do Espírito Santo deve ser o primeiro a perceber que o que estou dizendo é mandamento da parte do próprio Senhor.
Si alguno á su parecer, es profeta, ó espiritual, reconozca lo que os escribo, porque son mandamientos del Señor.
If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
If any man thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you, that they are the commandment of the Lord.
Mas, se alguém ainda discordar — bem, deixaremos que ele permaneça na sua ignorância.
Mas el que ignora, ignore.
But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant.
Portanto, meus irmãos na fé, anseiem por ser profetas, a fim de que possam anunciar com clareza a mensagem de Deus; e não proíbam o falar em línguas.
Así que, hermanos, procurad profetizar; y no impidáis el hablar lenguas.
Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
