1 Corintios 14

Seguíd la caridad: codiciád los dones espirituales; mas sobre todo que profeticéis.

SEGUID la caridad; y procurad los dones espirituales, mas sobre todo que profeticéis.

Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

Follow after love and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

Porque el que habla en lenguas desconocidas, no habla a los hombres, sino a Dios; porque nadie le entiende, aunque en espíritu hable misterios.

For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

Mas el que profetiza, habla a los hombres para edificación, y exhortación, y consolación.

But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

El que habla una lengua desconocida, a sí mismo edifica; mas el que profetiza, edifica a la iglesia.

El que habla lengua extraña, á sí mismo se edifica; mas el que profetiza, edifica á la iglesia.

He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

He who speaks in another language edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the assembly.

Así que querría que todos vosotros habláseis lenguas, más bien empero que profetizáseis; porque mayor es el que profetiza que el que habla en lenguas extrañas, si también no interpretare, para que la iglesia reciba edificación.

Así que, quisiera que todos vosotros hablaseis lenguas, empero más que profetizaseis: porque mayor es el que profetiza que el que habla lenguas, si también no interpretare, para que la iglesia tome edificación.

I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

Now I desire to have you all speak with other languages, but even more that you would prophesy. For he is greater who prophesies than he who speaks with other languages, unless he interprets, that the assembly may be built up.

Ahora pues, hermanos, si yo viniere a vosotros hablando en lenguas extrañas, ¿qué os aprovecharé, si no os hablare, o por revelación, o por ciencia, o por profecía, o por doctrina?

Ahora pues, hermanos, si yo fuere á vosotros hablando lenguas, ¿qué os aprovecharé, si no os hablare, ó con revelación, ó con ciencia, ó con profecía, ó con doctrina?

Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?

But now, brothers, if I come to you speaking with other languages, what would I profit you unless I speak to you either by way of revelation, or of knowledge, or of prophesying, or of teaching?

Y aun las cosas inanimadas que dan sonido, (sea flauta o arpa,) si no dieren distinción de sonidos, ¿cómo se sabrá lo que se tañe con la flauta o con la arpa?

Ciertamente las cosas inanimadas que hacen sonidos, como la flauta ó la vihuela, si no dieren distinción de voces, ¿cómo se sabrá lo que se tañe con la flauta, ó con la vihuela?

And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?

Even lifeless things that make a sound, whether pipe or harp, if they didn’t give a distinction in the sounds, how would it be known what is piped or harped?

Y si la trompeta diere sonido incierto, ¿quién se apercebirá a la batalla?

Y si la trompeta diere sonido incierto, ¿quién se apercibirá á la batalla?

For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

For if the trumpet gave an uncertain sound, who would prepare himself for war?

Así también vosotros, si por la lengua no diéreis palabras bien inteligibles, ¿cómo se entenderá lo que se dice? porque hablaréis al aire.

Así también vosotros, si por la lengua no diereis palabra bien significante, ¿cómo se entenderá lo que se dice? porque hablaréis al aire.

So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

So also you, unless you uttered by the tongue words easy to understand, how would it be known what is spoken? For you would be speaking into the air.

Tantos géneros de voces, (por ejemplo,) hay en el mundo; y ninguna de ellas es sin significado;

Tantos géneros de voces, por ejemplo, hay en el mundo, y nada hay mudo;

There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

There are, it may be, so many kinds of languages in the world, and none of them is without meaning.

Mas si yo ignorare el valor de la voz, seré bárbaro para aquel que habla; y el que habla, será bárbaro para mí.

Mas si yo ignorare el valor de la voz, seré bárbaro al que habla, y el que habla será bárbaro para mí.

Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.

If then I don’t know the meaning of the language, I would be to him who speaks a foreigner, and he who speaks would be a foreigner to me.

Así también vosotros: puesto que sois codiciosos de dones espirituales, procurád de sobresalir en ellos para la edificación de la iglesia.

Así también vosotros; pues que anheláis espirituales dones, procurad ser excelentes para la edificación de la iglesia.

Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

So also you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, seek that you may abound to the building up of the assembly.

Por lo cual el que habla en lengua extraña, ore que interprete.

Por lo cual, el que habla lengua extraña, pida que la interprete.

Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

Therefore let him who speaks in another language pray that he may interpret.

Porque si yo orare en lengua desconocida, mi espíritu ora; mas mi entendimiento es sin fruto.

For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

¿Qué hay pues? Oraré con el espíritu, y oraré también con el entendimiento: cantaré con el espíritu, y cantaré también con el entendimiento.

¿Qué pues? Oraré con el espíritu, mas oraré también con entendimiento; cantaré con el espíritu, mas cantaré también con entendimiento.

What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

What should I do? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also. I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

Porque si tú bendijeres solamente con el espíritu, el que ocupa el lugar del pueblo sencillo, ¿cómo dirá, Amén, sobre tu acción de gracias? porque no sabe lo que dices.

Porque si bendijeres con el espíritu, el que ocupa lugar de un mero particular, ¿cómo dirá amén á tu acción de gracias? pues no sabe lo que has dicho.

Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who fills the place of the unlearned say the “Amen” at your giving of thanks, seeing he doesn’t know what you say?

Porque tú a la verdad das bien gracias; mas el otro no es edificado.

Porque tú, á la verdad, bien haces gracias; mas el otro no es edificado.

For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

For you most certainly give thanks well, but the other person is not built up.

Doy gracias a mi Dios que hablo en lenguas extrañas más que todos vosotros.

Doy gracias á Dios que hablo lenguas más que todos vosotros:

I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

I thank my God, I speak with other languages more than you all.

Empero en la iglesia quiero más bien hablar cinco palabras con mi entendimiento, para que enseñe también a los otros, que diez mil palabras en una lengua desconocida.

Pero en la iglesia más quiero hablar cinco palabras con mi sentido, para que enseñe también á los otros, que diez mil palabras en lengua desconocida.

Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

However, in the assembly I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in another language.

Hermanos, no seáis niños en el sentido; mas sed niños en la malicia, empero en el sentido sed hombres.

Hermanos, no seáis niños en el sentido, sino sed niños en la malicia: empero perfectos en el sentido.

Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

Brothers, don’t be children in thoughts, yet in malice be babies, but in thoughts be mature.

En la ley está escrito: Con otras lenguas, y con otros labios hablaré a este pueblo; y ni aun así me oirán, dice el Señor.

In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

In the law it is written, “By men of strange languages and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people. They won’t even listen to me that way, says the Lord.”

Así que las lenguas por señal son, no a los que creen, sino a los incrédulos; mas la profecía sirve, no para los que no creen, sino a los creyentes.

Así que, las lenguas por señal son, no á los fieles, sino á los infieles: mas la profecía, no á los infieles, sino á los fieles.

Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

Therefore other languages are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to the unbelieving; but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to those who believe.

De manera que si toda la iglesia se juntare en un mismo lugar, y todos hablaren en lenguas extrañas, y entraren gentes sencillas, o incrédulos, ¿no dirán que estáis locos?

De manera que, si toda la iglesia se juntare en uno, y todos hablan lenguas, y entran indoctos ó infieles, ¿no dirán que estáis locos?

If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

If therefore the whole assembly is assembled together and all speak with other languages, and unlearned or unbelieving people come in, won’t they say that you are crazy?

Mas si todos profetizaren, y entrare algún incrédulo o ignorante, de todos es convencido, de todos es juzgado:

Mas si todos profetizan, y entra algún infiel ó indocto, de todos es convencido, de todos es juzgado;

But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:

But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all.

Y así lo oculto de su corazón se hace manifiesto; y así postrándose sobre su rostro adorará a Dios, declarando que verdaderamente Dios está en vosotros.

Lo oculto de su corazón se hace manifiesto: y así, postrándose sobre el rostro, adorará á Dios, declarando que verdaderamente Dios está en vosotros.

And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed.

¿Qué hay, pues, hermanos? Cuando os juntáis, cada uno de vosotros tiene salmo, tiene doctrina, tiene lengua, tiene revelación, tiene interpretación: Háganse todas las cosas para edificación.

¿Qué hay pues, hermanos? Cuando os juntáis, cada uno de vosotros tiene salmo, tiene doctrina, tiene lengua, tiene revelación, tiene interpretación: hágase todo para edificación.

How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

What is it then, brothers? When you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has another language, or has an interpretation. Let all things be done to build each other up.

Si hablare alguno en lengua desconocida, sea por dos, o a lo más por tres, y esto a su turno; y uno interprete.

Si hablare alguno en lengua extraña, sea esto por dos, ó á lo más tres, y por turno; mas uno interprete.

If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

If any man speaks in another language, let there be two, or at the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret.

Mas si no hubiere intérprete, calle en la iglesia; y hable a sí mismo, y a Dios.

Y si no hubiere intérprete, calle en la iglesia, y hable á sí mismo y á Dios.

But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the assembly, and let him speak to himself and to God.

Empero los profetas, hablen dos o tres; y los demás juzguen.

Asimismo, los profetas hablen dos ó tres, y los demás juzguen.

Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

Let two or three of the prophets speak, and let the others discern.

Y si a otro que estuviere sentado, fuere revelada alguna cosa, calle el primero.

Y si á otro que estuviere sentado, fuere revelado, calle el primero.

If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.

But if a revelation is made to another sitting by, let the first keep silent.

Porque podéis todos profetizar uno por uno; para que todos aprendan, y todos sean exhortados.

For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

For you all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be exhorted.

(Y los espíritus de los profetas están sujetos a los profetas;)

And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

Porque Dios no es autor de disensión, sino de paz, como en todas las iglesias de los santos.

Porque Dios no es Dios de disensión, sino de paz; como en todas las iglesias de los santos.

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the saints.

Vuestras mujeres callen en las iglesias; porque no les es permitido hablar, sino que estén sujetas como también lo dice la ley.

Vuestras mujeres callen en las congregaciones; porque no les es permitido hablar, sino que estén sujetas, como también la ley dice.

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

Let the wives be quiet in the assemblies, for it has not been permitted for them to be talking except in submission, as the law also says,

Y si quieren aprender alguna cosa, pregunten en casa a sus maridos; porque deshonesta cosa es hablar las mujeres en la iglesia.

Y si quieren aprender alguna cosa, pregunten en casa á sus maridos; porque deshonesta cosa es hablar una mujer en la congregación.

And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

if they desire to learn anything. “Let them ask their own husbands at home, for it is shameful for a wife to be talking in the assembly.”

¡Qué! ¿Ha salido de vosotros la palabra de Dios? ¿o a vosotros solos ha llegado?

What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

What!? Was it from you that the word of God went out? Or did it come to you alone?

Si alguno, a su parecer, es profeta, o espiritual, reconozca que las cosas que yo os escribo son mandamientos del Señor.

Si alguno á su parecer, es profeta, ó espiritual, reconozca lo que os escribo, porque son mandamientos del Señor.

If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

If any man thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you, that they are the commandment of the Lord.

Mas si alguno quiere ser ignorante, sea ignorante.

Mas el que ignora, ignore.

But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant.

Así que, hermanos, codiciád el profetizar; y no impidáis el hablar en lenguas extrañas.

Así que, hermanos, procurad profetizar; y no impidáis el hablar lenguas.

Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

Therefore, brothers, desire earnestly to prophesy, and don’t forbid speaking with other languages.
