1Pablo, llamado a ser apóstol de Jesucristo por la voluntad de Dios, y nuestro hermano Sóstenes,
2a la asamblea de Dios que está en Corinto: los santificados en Cristo Jesús, llamados santos, con todos los que invocan el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo en todo lugar, tanto de ellos como de nosotros:
3Gracia a ustedes y paz de parte de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.
4Siempre doy gracias a mi Dios respecto a ustedes por la gracia de Dios que les fue dada en Cristo Jesús,
5que en todo fueron enriquecidos en él, en toda palabra y en toda sabiduría,
6así como el testimonio de Cristo fue confirmado en ustedes,
7para que no se queden atrás en ningún don, esperando la revelación de nuestro Señor Jesucristo,
8que también los confirmará hasta el fin, irreprochables en el día de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
9Fiel es Dios, por quien fueron llamados a la comunión de su Hijo Jesucristo, nuestro Señor.
10Ahora les ruego, hermanos, por el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que hablen todos una misma cosa, y que no haya divisiones entre ustedes, sino que se perfeccionen juntos en una misma mente y en un mismo juicio.
11Porque se me ha informado acerca de ustedes, hermanos míos, por parte de los que son de la casa de Cloe, que hay disputas entre ustedes.
12Quiero decir que cada uno de ustedes dice: “Yo sigo a Pablo”, “Yo sigo a Apolos”, “Yo sigo a Cefas” y “Yo sigo a Cristo”.
13¿Está dividido Cristo? ¿Fue Pablo crucificado por ustedes? ¿O fueron bautizados en el nombre de Pablo?
14Doy gracias a Dios porque no bauticé a ninguno de ustedes, excepto a Crispo y a Gayo,
15para que nadie diga que los bauticé en mi propio nombre.
16(También bauticé a la casa de Estéfanas; además de ellos, no sé si bauticé a algún otro).
17Porque Cristo no me ha enviado a bautizar, sino a predicar las buenas noticias, no con sabiduría de palabras, para que la cruz de Cristo no sea anulada.
18Porque la palabra de la cruz es una locura para los que mueren, pero para los que se salvan es poder de Dios.
19Porque está escrito, “Destruiré la sabiduría de los sabios. Haré que el discernimiento de los perspicaces quede en nada”.
20¿Dónde está el sabio? ¿Dónde está el escriba? ¿Dónde está el polemista de este siglo? ¿Acaso Dios no ha hecho insensata la sabiduría de este mundo?
21Pues viendo que en la sabiduría de Dios, el mundo por su sabiduría no conoció a Dios, a Dios le agradó salvar a los creyentes por medio de la locura de la predicación.
22Porque los judíos piden señales, los griegos buscan sabiduría,
23pero nosotros predicamos a Cristo crucificado, escándalo para los judíos y necedad para los griegos,
24pero para los llamados, tanto judíos como griegos, Cristo es poder de Dios y sabiduría de Dios;
25porque la necedad de Dios es más sabia que los hombres, y la debilidad de Dios es más fuerte que los hombres.
26Porque ya ven su vocación, hermanos, que no hay muchos sabios según la carne, ni muchos poderosos, ni muchos nobles;
27sino que Dios eligió lo necio del mundo para avergonzar a los sabios. Dios eligió a los débiles del mundo para avergonzar a los fuertes.
28Dios eligió lo humilde del mundo, lo despreciable y lo que no existe, para reducir a la nada lo que existe,
29a fin de que nadie se jacte ante Dios.
30Porque por él están en Cristo Jesús, que nos fue hecho sabiduría de Dios, y justicia y santificación, y redención,
31para que, como está escrito: “El que se gloríe, que se gloríe en el Señor”.

2A la iglesia de Dios que está en Corinto, santificados en Cristo Jesús, llamados santos, y á todos los que invocan el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo en cualquier lugar, Señor de ellos y nuestro:
3Gracia y paz de Dios nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo.
4Gracias doy á mi Dios siempre por vosotros, por la gracia de Dios que os es dada en Cristo Jesús;
5Que en todas las cosas sois enriquecidos en él, en toda lengua y en toda ciencia;
6Así como el testimonio de Cristo ha sido confirmado en vosotros:
7De tal manera que nada os falte en ningún don, esperando la manifestación de nuestro Señor Jesucristo:
8El cual también os confirmará hasta el fin, para que seáis sin falta en el día de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
9Fiel es Dios, por el cual sois llamados á la participación de su Hijo Jesucristo nuestro Señor.
10Os ruego pues, hermanos, por el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que habléis todos una misma cosa, y que no haya entre vosotros disensiones, antes seáis perfectamente unidos en una misma mente y en un mismo parecer.
11Porque me ha sido declarado de vosotros, hermanos míos, por los que son de Cloé, que hay entre vosotros contiendas;
12Quiero decir, que cada uno de vosotros dice: Yo cierto soy de Pablo; pues yo de Apolos; y yo de Cefas; y yo de Cristo.
13¿Está dividido Cristo? ¿Fué crucificado Pablo por vosotros? ¿ó habéis sido bautizados en el nombre de Pablo?
14Doy gracias á Dios, que á ninguno de vosotros he bautizado, sino á Crispo y á Gayo;
15Para que ninguno diga que habéis sido bautizados en mi nombre.
16Y también bauticé la familia de Estéfanas: mas no sé si he bautizado algún otro.
17Porque no me envió Cristo á bautizar, sino á predicar el evangelio: no en sabiduría de palabras, porque no sea hecha vana la cruz de Cristo.
18Porque la palabra de la cruz es locura á los que se pierden; mas á los que se salvan, es á saber, á nosotros, es potencia de Dios.
19Porque está escrito: Destruiré la sabiduría de los sabios, y desecharé la inteligencia de los entendidos.
20¿Qué es del sabio? ¿qué del escriba? ¿qué del escudriñador de este siglo? ¿no ha enloquecido Dios la sabiduría del mundo?
21Porque por no haber el mundo conocido en la sabiduría de Dios á Dios por sabiduría, agradó á Dios salvar á los creyentes por la locura de la predicación.
22Porque los Judíos piden señales, y los Griegos buscan sabiduría:
23Mas nosotros predicamos á Cristo crucificado, á los Judíos ciertamente tropezadero, y á los Gentiles locura;
24Empero á los llamados, así Judíos como Griegos, Cristo potencia de Dios, y sabiduría de Dios.
25Porque lo loco de Dios es más sabio que los hombres; y lo flaco de Dios es más fuerte que los hombres.
26Porque mirad, hermanos, vuestra vocación, que no sois muchos sabios según la carne, no muchos poderosos, no muchos nobles;
27Antes lo necio del mundo escogió Dios, para avergonzar á los sabios; y lo flaco del mundo escogió Dios, para avergonzar lo fuerte;
28Y lo vil del mundo y lo menospreciado escogió Dios, y lo que no es, para deshacer lo que es:
29Para que ninguna carne se jacte en su presencia.
30Mas de él sois vosotros en Cristo Jesús, el cual nos ha sido hecho por Dios sabiduría, y justificación, y santificación, y redención:
31Para que, como está escrito: El que se gloría, gloríese en el Señor.

1Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
2Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
3Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
4I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
5That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
6Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
7So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
8Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
10Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
12Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
13Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
14I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
15Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.
16And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
17For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

1Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,
2to the assembly of God which is at Corinth—those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours:
3Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4I always thank my God concerning you for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus,
5that in everything you were enriched in him, in all speech and all knowledge—
6even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you—
7so that you come behind in no gift, waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,
8who will also confirm you until the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

18For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise. I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing.”
20Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn’t know God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.
22For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom,
23but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Greeks,
24but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God;
25because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble;
27but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world that he might put to shame the things that are strong.
28God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that don’t exist, that he might bring to nothing the things that exist,
29that no flesh should boast before God.
30Because of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
31that, as it is written, “He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.”
