Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

Gracia y paz de parte de Dios padre nuestro , y de Jesucristo nuestro Señor.

Continuamente estoy dando gracias a Dios por vosotros por la gracia de Dios, que se os ha dado en Jesucristo;

habiéndose así verificado en vosotros el testimonio de Cristo ;

de manera que nada os falte de gracia alguna, a vosotros que estáis esperando la manifestación de Jesucristo nuestro Señor,

So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

el cual os confortará todavía hasta el fin, para que seáis hallados irreprensibles en el día del advenimiento de Jesucristo Señor nuestro.

Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Porque Dios, por el cual habéis sido llamados a la compañía de su Hijo Jesucristo nuestro Señor, es fiel en sus promesas.

Mas os ruego encarecidamente, hermanos míos, por el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que todos tengáis un mismo lenguaje, y que no haya entre vosotros cismas ni partidos; antes bien viváis perfectamente unidos en un mismo pensar y en un mismo sentir;

porque he llegado a entender, hermanos míos, por los de la familia de Cloe, que hay entre vosotros contiendas.
Porque me ha sido declarado de vosotros, hermanos míos, por los que son de Cloé, que hay entre vosotros contiendas;
For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
For it has been reported to me concerning you, my brothers, by those who are from Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you.
Quiero decir, que cada uno de vosotros toma partido, diciendo: Yo soy de Pablo, yo de Apolo, yo de Cefas, yo de Cristo .
Quiero decir, que cada uno de vosotros dice: Yo cierto soy de Pablo; pues yo de Apolos; y yo de Cefas; y yo de Cristo.
Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
Now I mean this, that each one of you says, “I follow Paul,” “I follow Apollos,” “I follow Cephas,” and, “I follow Christ.”
Pues qué, ¿Cristo acaso se ha dividido? ¿Y por ventura Pablo ha sido crucificado por vosotros?; ¿o habéis sido bautizados en nombre de Pablo?
¿Está dividido Cristo? ¿Fué crucificado Pablo por vosotros? ¿ó habéis sido bautizados en el nombre de Pablo?
Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

Ahora que sé esto doy gracias a Dios, de que a ninguno de vosotros he bautizado por mí mismo, sino a Crispo y a Cayo,
Doy gracias á Dios, que á ninguno de vosotros he bautizado, sino á Crispo y á Gayo;
I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;

para que no pueda decir nadie que habéis sido bautizados en mi nombre.

Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.

Verdad es que bauticé también a la familia de Estéfanas; por lo demás, no me acuerdo haber bautizado a otro alguno que yo sepa.
Y también bauticé la familia de Estéfanas: mas no sé si he bautizado algún otro.
And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.

Porque no me envió Cristo a bautizar, sino a predicar la buena nueva; y a predicarla, sin valerme para eso de la elocuencia de palabras, o discursos de sabiduría humana, para que no se haga inútil la cruz de Jesucristo.
Porque no me envió Cristo á bautizar, sino á predicar el evangelio: no en sabiduría de palabras, porque no sea hecha vana la cruz de Cristo.
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Good News—not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of Christ wouldn’t be made void.
A la verdad que la predicación de la cruz o de un Dios crucificado, parece una necedad a los ojos de los que se pierden; mas para los que se salvan, esto es, para nosotros, es la virtud y poder de Dios.
Porque la palabra de la cruz es locura á los que se pierden; mas á los que se salvan, es á saber, á nosotros, es potencia de Dios.
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Así está escrito: Destruiré la sabiduría de los sabios, y desecharé la prudencia de los prudentes.
Porque está escrito: Destruiré la sabiduría de los sabios, y desecharé la inteligencia de los entendidos.
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise. I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing.”
¿En dónde están los sabios?, ¿en dónde los escribas, o doctores de la ley?, ¿en dónde esos espíritus curiosos de las ciencias de este mundo? ¿No es verdad que Dios ha convencido de fatua la sabiduría de este mundo?
¿Qué es del sabio? ¿qué del escriba? ¿qué del escudriñador de este siglo? ¿no ha enloquecido Dios la sabiduría del mundo?
Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
Porque ya que el mundo, a vista de las obras de la sabiduría divina, no conoció a Dios por medio de la ciencia humana, quiso Dios salvar a los que creyesen en él por medio de la locura o simplicidad de la predicación de un Dios crucificado.
Porque por no haber el mundo conocido en la sabiduría de Dios á Dios por sabiduría, agradó á Dios salvar á los creyentes por la locura de la predicación.
For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn’t know God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.
Así es que los judíos por su parte piden milagros, y los griegos o gentiles por la suya, quieren ciencia;
Porque los Judíos piden señales, y los Griegos buscan sabiduría:
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom,
mas nosotros predicamos sencillamente a Cristo crucificado, lo cual para los judíos es motivo de escándalo, y parece una locura a los gentiles;
Mas nosotros predicamos á Cristo crucificado, á los Judíos ciertamente tropezadero, y á los Gentiles locura;
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Greeks,
si bien para los que han sido llamados a la fe, tanto judíos, como griegos, es Cristo la virtud de Dios y la sabiduría de Dios.
Empero á los llamados, así Judíos como Griegos, Cristo potencia de Dios, y sabiduría de Dios.
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God;
Porque lo que parece una locura en los misterios de Dios, es mayor sabiduría que la de todos los hombres; y lo que parece debilidad en Dios, es más fuerte que toda la fortaleza de los hombres.
Porque lo loco de Dios es más sabio que los hombres; y lo flaco de Dios es más fuerte que los hombres.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
Considerad si no, hermanos, quiénes son los que han sido llamados a la fe de entre vosotros, cómo no sois muchos los sabios, según la carne, ni muchos los poderosos, ni muchos los nobles;
Porque mirad, hermanos, vuestra vocación, que no sois muchos sabios según la carne, no muchos poderosos, no muchos nobles;
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble;
sino que Dios ha escogido a los necios según el mundo, para confundir a los sabios; y Dios ha escogido a los débiles del mundo, para confundir a los fuertes;
Antes lo necio del mundo escogió Dios, para avergonzar á los sabios; y lo flaco del mundo escogió Dios, para avergonzar lo fuerte;
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world that he might put to shame the things that are strong.
y a las cosas viles y despreciables del mundo, y a aquellas que eran nada, para destruir las que son al parecer más grandes,
Y lo vil del mundo y lo menospreciado escogió Dios, y lo que no es, para deshacer lo que es:
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that don’t exist, that he might bring to nothing the things that exist,
a fin de que ningún mortal se jacte ante su acatamiento.
Para que ninguna carne se jacte en su presencia.
That no flesh should glory in his presence.
that no flesh should boast before God.
Y por esta conducta del mismo Dios subsistís vosotros o estáis incorporados en Cristo Jesús , el cual fue constituido por Dios para nosotros por fuente de sabiduría, y por justicia, y santificación, y redención nuestra,
Mas de él sois vosotros en Cristo Jesús, el cual nos ha sido hecho por Dios sabiduría, y justificación, y santificación, y redención:
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Because of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
a fin de que como está escrito: El que se gloría, gloríese en el Señor.
Para que, como está escrito: El que se gloría, gloríese en el Señor.
That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
that, as it is written, “He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.”
