Io vi ho dato a bere del latte, e non vi ho dato del cibo, perciocchè voi non potevate ancora portarlo; anzi neppure ora potete, perchè siete carnali.

Os dí á beber leche, y no vianda: porque aun no podíais, ni aun podéis ahora;

I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

I fed you with milk, not with solid food, for you weren’t yet ready. Indeed, you aren’t ready even now,
