1Quelqu’un de vous, lorsqu’il a un différend avec un autre, ose-t-il plaider devant les injustes, et non devant les saints?
2Ne savez-vous pas que les saints jugeront le monde? Et si c’est par vous que le monde est jugé, êtes-vous indignes de rendre les moindres jugements?
3Ne savez-vous pas que nous jugerons les anges? Et nous ne jugerions pas, à plus forte raison, les choses de cette vie?
4Quand donc vous avez des différends pour les choses de cette vie, ce sont des gens dont l’Église ne fait aucun cas que vous prenez pour juges!
5Je le dis à votre honte. Ainsi il n’y a parmi vous pas un seul homme sage qui puisse prononcer entre ses frères.
6Mais un frère plaide contre un frère, et cela devant des infidèles!
7C’est déjà certes un défaut chez vous que d’avoir des procès les uns avec les autres. Pourquoi ne souffrez-vous pas plutôt quelque injustice? Pourquoi ne vous laissez-vous pas plutôt dépouiller?
8Mais c’est vous qui commettez l’injustice et qui dépouillez, et c’est envers des frères que vous agissez de la sorte!
9Ne savez-vous pas que les injustes n’hériteront point le royaume de Dieu? Ne vous y trompez pas: ni les impudiques, ni les idolâtres, ni les adultères, ni les efféminés, ni les infâmes,
10ni les voleurs, ni les cupides, ni les ivrognes, ni les outrageux, ni les ravisseurs, n’hériteront le royaume de Dieu.
11Et c’est là ce que vous étiez, quelques-uns de vous. Mais vous avez été lavés, mais vous avez été sanctifiés, mais vous avez été justifiés au nom du Seigneur Jésus-Christ, et par l’Esprit de notre Dieu.
12Tout m’est permis, mais tout n’est pas utile; tout m’est permis, mais je ne me laisserai asservir par quoi que ce soit.
13Les aliments sont pour le ventre, et le ventre pour les aliments; et Dieu détruira l’un comme les autres. Mais le corps n’est pas pour l’impudicité. Il est pour le Seigneur, et le Seigneur pour le corps.
14Et Dieu, qui a ressuscité le Seigneur, nous ressuscitera aussi par sa puissance.
15Ne savez-vous pas que vos corps sont des membres de Christ? Prendrai-je donc les membres de Christ, pour en faire les membres d’une prostituée?
16Loin de là! Ne savez-vous pas que celui qui s’attache à la prostituée est un seul corps avec elle? Car, est-il dit, les deux deviendront une seule chair.
17Mais celui qui s’attache au Seigneur est avec lui un seul esprit.
18Fuyez l’impudicité. Quelque autre péché qu’un homme commette, ce péché est hors du corps; mais celui qui se livre à l’impudicité pèche contre son propre corps.
19Ne savez-vous pas que votre corps est le temple du Saint-Esprit qui est en vous, que vous avez reçu de Dieu, et que vous ne vous appartenez point à vous-mêmes?
20Car vous avez été rachetés à un grand prix. Glorifiez donc Dieu dans votre corps et dans votre esprit, qui appartiennent à Dieu.

1¿OSA alguno de vosotros, teniendo algo con otro, ir á juicio delante de los injustos, y no delante de los santos?
2¿O no sabéis que los santos han de juzgar al mundo? Y si el mundo ha de ser juzgado por vosotros, ¿sois indignos de juzgar cosas muy pequeñas?
3¿O no sabéis que hemos de juzgar á los ángeles? ¿cuánto más las cosas de este siglo?
4Por tanto, si hubiereis de tener juicios de cosas de este siglo, poned para juzgar á los que son de menor estima en la iglesia.
5Para avergonzaros lo digo. ¿Pues qué, no hay entre vosotros sabio, ni aun uno que pueda juzgar entre sus hermanos;
6Sino que el hermano con el hermano pleitea en juicio, y esto ante los infieles?
7Así que, por cierto es ya una falta en vosotros que tengáis pleitos entre vosotros mismos. ¿Por qué no sufrís antes la injuria? ¿por qué no sufrís antes ser defraudados?
8Empero vosotros hacéis la injuria, y defraudáis, y esto á los hermanos.
9¿No sabéis que los injustos no poseerán el reino de Dios? No erréis, que ni los fornicarios, ni los idólatras, ni los adúlteros, ni los afeminados, ni los que se echan con varones,
10Ni los ladrones, ni los avaros, ni los borrachos, ni los maldicientes, ni los robadores, heredarán el reino de Dios.
11Y esto erais algunos: mas ya sois lavados, mas ya sois santificados, mas ya sois justificados en el nombre del Señor Jesús, y por el Espíritu de nuestro Dios.
12Todas las cosas me son lícitas, mas no todas convienen: todas las cosas me son lícitas, mas yo no me meteré debajo de potestad de nada.
13Las viandas para el vientre, y el vientre para las viandas; empero y á él y á ellas deshará Dios. Mas el cuerpo no es para la fornicación, sino para el Señor; y el Señor para el cuerpo:
14Y Dios que levantó al Señor, también á nosotros nos levantará con su poder.
15¿No sabéis que vuestros cuerpos son miembros de Cristo? ¿Quitaré pues los miembros de Cristo, y los haré miembros de una ramera? Lejos sea.
16¿O no sabéis que el que se junta con una ramera, es hecho con ella un cuerpo? porque serán, dice, los dos en una carne.
17Empero el que se junta con el Señor, un espíritu es.
18Huid la fornicación. Cualquier otro pecado que el hombre hiciere, fuera del cuerpo es; mas el que fornica, contra su propio cuerpo peca.
19¿O ignoráis que vuestro cuerpo es templo del Espíritu Santo, el cual está en vosotros, el cual tenéis de Dios, y que no sois vuestros?
20Porque comprados sois por precio: glorificad pues á Dios en vuestro cuerpo y en vuestro espíritu, los cuales son de Dios.

1Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
2Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
3Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
4If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
5I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
6But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.
7Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
8Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.
9Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
12All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
13Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
14And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
15Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
16What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
17But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
18Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

1Dare any of you, having a matter against his neighbor, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?
2Don’t you know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
3Don’t you know that we will judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?
4If then you have to judge things pertaining to this life, do you set them to judge who are of no account in the assembly?
5I say this to move you to shame. Isn’t there even one wise man among you who would be able to decide between his brothers?
6But brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers!
7Therefore it is already altogether a defect in you that you have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded?
8No, but you yourselves do wrong and defraud, and that against your brothers.
9Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,
10nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.
11Some of you were such, but you were washed. You were sanctified. You were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.
12“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are expedient. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be brought under the power of anything.
13“Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods,” but God will bring to nothing both it and them. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
14Now God raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by his power.
15Don’t you know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be!
16Or don’t you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, “The two”, he says, “will become one flesh.”

18Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
19Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,
20for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
