HIJITOS míos, estas cosas os escribo, para que no pequéis; y si alguno hubiere pecado, abogado tenemos para con el Padre, á Jesucristo el justo;
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous.
Él es el sacrificio que fue ofrecido por nuestros pecados, y no sólo por los nuestros, sino también por los de todo el mundo.

And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

¿Cómo podemos saber que conocemos a Dios? Si obedecemos sus mandamientos.
Y en esto sabemos que nosotros le hemos conocido, si guardamos sus mandamientos.
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his commandments.
Si alguno dice: «Yo conozco a Dios», pero no obedece sus mandamientos, miente y no dice la verdad.
El que dice, Yo le he conocido, y no guarda sus mandamientos, el tal es mentiroso, y no hay verdad en él;
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
One who says, “I know him,” and doesn’t keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth isn’t in him.
En cambio, el amor a Dios se demuestra cuando obedecemos lo que él manda. Así estamos seguros de que estamos unidos a Dios.
Mas el que guarda su palabra, la caridad de Dios está verdaderamente perfecta en él: por esto sabemos que estamos en él.
But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
But God’s love has most certainly been perfected in whoever keeps his word. This is how we know that we are in him:
El que afirma que está unido a Dios, debe vivir como Jesucristo vivió.
El que dice que está en él, debe andar como él anduvo.
He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
he who says he remains in him ought himself also to walk just like he walked.
Queridos hermanos, no me estoy refiriendo a ningún mandamiento nuevo, sino al mandamiento antiguo que desde un principio han tenido ustedes.
Hermanos, no os escribo mandamiento nuevo, sino el mandamiento antiguo que habéis tenido desde el principio: el mandamiento antiguo es la palabra que habéis oído desde el principio.
Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
Brothers, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning.
Sin embargo, siempre es nuevo, porque es una realidad que se muestra en Cristo y en ustedes. Esto es así porque la luz verdadera brilla y hace que la oscuridad vaya disipándose.
Otra vez os escribo un mandamiento nuevo, que es verdadero en él y en vosotros; porque las tinieblas son pasadas, y la verdadera luz ya alumbra.
Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.
Again, I write a new commandment to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light already shines.
El que dice que anda en la luz pero aborrece a su hermano, todavía está en tinieblas.
El que dice que está en luz, y aborrece á su hermano, el tal aun está en tinieblas todavía.
He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in the darkness even until now.
El que ama a su hermano anda en la luz y no tropieza.
El que ama á su hermano, está en luz, y no hay tropiezo en él.
He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
He who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him.
En cambio, el que odia a su hermano vaga en la oscuridad y en ella vive, y no sabe a dónde va, porque la oscuridad lo ha dejado ciego.
Mas el que aborrece á su hermano, está en tinieblas, y anda en tinieblas, y no sabe á donde va; porque las tinieblas le han cegado los ojos.
But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness, and doesn’t know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
Les escribo estas cosas, queridos hijos, porque sus pecados han sido perdonados en el nombre de Cristo.

Les he escrito, padres, porque han conocido al que existe desde el principio. Les he escrito, jóvenes, porque ustedes son fuertes, tienen la palabra de Dios arraigada en sus corazones y han vencido al maligno.
Os he escrito á vosotros, padres, porque habéis conocido al que es desde el principio. Os he escrito á vosotros, mancebos, porque sois fuertes, y la palabra de Dios mora en vosotros, y habéis vencido al maligno.

No amen al mundo ni lo que hay en él. El que ama al mundo no ama al Padre,
No améis al mundo, ni las cosas que están en el mundo. Si alguno ama al mundo, el amor del Padre no está en él.
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him.
porque nada de lo que hay en el mundo —las pasiones sexuales, el deseo de poseer todo lo que agrada y el orgullo de poseer riquezas— proviene del Padre sino del mundo.
Porque todo lo que hay en el mundo, la concupiscencia de la carne, y la concupiscencia de los ojos, y la soberbia de la vida, no es del Padre, mas es del mundo.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Y el mundo se está acabando y con él todos sus malos deseos. Pero el que hace la voluntad de Dios permanece para siempre.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God’s will remains forever.
Hijitos, ha llegado la hora final. Ustedes han oído hablar del anticristo que ha de llegar; pues bien, ya han surgido muchos anticristos. Por esto sabemos que ya estamos en la última hora.
Hijitos, ya es el último tiempo: y como vosotros habéis oído que el anticristo ha de venir, así también al presente han comenzado á ser muchos anticristos; por lo cual sabemos que es el último tiempo.
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
Little children, these are the end times, and as you heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen. By this we know that it is the final hour.
Aunque salieron de entre nosotros, en realidad nunca fueron de los nuestros, porque si lo hubieran sido, se habrían quedado con nosotros. El hecho de que nos dejaran comprueba que no eran de los nuestros.
Salieron de nosotros, mas no eran de nosotros; porque si fueran de nosotros, hubieran cierto permanecido con nosotros; pero salieron para que se manifestase que todos no son de nosotros.
They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

Pero todos ustedes han recibido el Espíritu Santo y conocen la verdad.

I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
I have not written to you because you don’t know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth.
¿Quién es el mentiroso? El que dice que Jesús no es el Cristo. Tal persona es un anticristo, porque niega al Padre y al Hijo.
¿Quién es mentiroso, sino el que niega que Jesús es el Cristo? Este tal es anticristo, que niega al Padre y al Hijo.
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the Antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.
Todo el que niega al Hijo, tampoco tiene al Padre. Pero el que reconoce al Hijo tiene también al Padre.
Cualquiera que niega al Hijo, este tal tampoco tiene al Padre. Cualquiera que confiese al Hijo tiene también al Padre.
Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
Whoever denies the Son doesn’t have the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also.
Así que conserven ustedes lo que les fue enseñado desde el principio, porque así estarán siempre en comunión con el Padre y con el Hijo.
Pues lo que habéis oído desde el principio, sea permaneciente en vosotros. Si lo que habéis oído desde el principio fuere permaneciente en vosotros, también vosotros permaneceréis en el Hijo y en el Padre.
Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
Therefore, as for you, let that remain in you which you heard from the beginning. If that which you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son, and in the Father.
Y él mismo nos ha prometido la vida eterna.
Y esta es la promesa, la cual él nos prometió, la vida eterna.

Les escribo esto por causa de los que quieren engañarlos;
Os he escrito esto sobre los que os engañan.
These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
These things I have written to you concerning those who would lead you astray.
pero ustedes han recibido el Espíritu Santo y él vive en ustedes. Por lo tanto, no necesitan que nadie les señale lo que es correcto. El Espíritu Santo les enseña todas las cosas, y él, que es la Verdad, no miente. Así que, tal como él les ha enseñado, vivan en Cristo.
Pero la unción que vosotros habéis recibido de él, mora en vosotros, y no tenéis necesidad que ninguno os enseñe; mas como la unción misma os enseña de todas cosas, y es verdadera, y no es mentira, así como os ha enseñado, perseveraréis en él.
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.
Y ahora, queridos hijos, permanezcan en comunión con el Señor, para que, cuando vuelva, puedan presentarse delante de él seguros y sin tener de qué avergonzarse.
Y ahora, hijitos, perseverad en él; para que cuando apareciere, tengamos confianza, y no seamos confundidos de él en su venida.
And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
Now, little children, remain in him, that when he appears, we may have boldness and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
Si saben que Jesús es justo, deben también saber que todo el que practica la justicia es hijo de Dios.
Si sabéis que él es justo, sabed también que cualquiera que hace justicia, es nacido de él.
If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him.
