Hijitos míos, estas cosas os escribo, para que no pequéis; y si alguno hubiere pecado, un abogado tenemos para con el Padre, a Jesu Cristo el Justo:

Y él es la propiciación por nuestros pecados; y no solamente por los nuestros, mas también por los de todo el mundo.

Mas el que guarda su palabra, el amor de Dios es verdaderamente perfecto en él: por esto sabemos que estamos en él.

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

Otra vez os escribo un mandamiento nuevo, que es la verdad en él, y en vosotros; porque las tinieblas están pasando, y la verdadera luz ya alumbra.

Hijitos, os escribo que vuestros pecados os son perdonados por causa de su nombre.

Padres, os he escrito que habéis conocido al que es desde el principio. Mancebos, yo os escribí que sois fuertes, y que la palabra de Dios mora en vosotros, y que habéis vencido al maligno.

I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

¿Quién es mentiroso, sino el que niega que Jesús es el Cristo? éste es el anticristo, que niega al Padre, y al Hijo.

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

Y esta es la promesa, la cual él nos prometió, que es vida eterna.

Estas cosas os he escrito tocante a los que os engañan.
