MIRAD cuál amor nos ha dado el Padre, que seamos llamados hijos de Dios: por esto el mundo no nos conoce, porque no le conoce á él.
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him.
Denn das ist die Botschaft, die ihr gehöret habt von Anfang, daß wir uns untereinander lieben sollen.
Muy amados, ahora somos hijos de Dios, y aun no se ha manifestado lo que hemos de ser; pero sabemos que cuando él apareciere, seremos semejantes á él, porque le veremos como él es.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Nicht wie Kain, der von dem Argen war und erwürgete seinen Bruder. Und warum erwürgete er ihn? Daß seine Werke böse waren und seines Bruders gerecht.
Y cualquiera que tiene esta esperanza en él, se purifica, como él también es limpio.
And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Verwundert euch nicht, meine Brüder, ob euch die Welt hasset!

Daran haben wir erkannt die Liebe, daß er sein Leben für uns gelassen hat; und wir sollen auch das Leben für die Brüder lassen.

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Wenn aber jemand dieser Welt Güter hat und siehet seinen Bruder darben und schließt sein Herz vor ihm zu: wie bleibet die Liebe Gottes bei ihm?

Daran erkennen wir, daß wir aus der Wahrheit sind, und können unser Herz vor ihm stillen,
En esto son manifiestos los hijos de Dios, y los hijos del diablo: cualquiera que no hace justicia, y que no ama á su hermano, no es de Dios.
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

daß, so uns unser Herz verdammt, daß Gott größer ist denn unser Herz und erkennet alle Dinge.
Porque este es el mensaje que habéis oído desde el principio: Que nos amemos unos á otros.

Ihr Lieben, so uns unser Herz nicht verdammt, so haben wir eine Freudigkeit zu Gott;

Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.

Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

Und das ist sein Gebot, daß wir glauben an den Namen seines Sohnes Jesu Christi und lieben uns untereinander, wie er uns ein Gebot gegeben hat.
Nosotros sabemos que hemos pasado de muerte á vida, en que amamos á los hermanos. El que no ama á su hermano, está en muerte.
We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

Und wer seine Gebote hält, der bleibet in ihm und er in ihm. Und daran erkennen wir, daß er in uns bleibet: an dem Geist, den er uns gegeben hat.

Ihr Lieben, glaubet nicht einem jeglichen Geist, sondern prüfet die Geister, ob sie von Gott sind; denn es sind viel falsche Propheten ausgegangen in die Welt.

Daran sollt ihr den Geist Gottes erkennen: Ein jeglicher Geist, der da bekennet, daß Jesus Christus ist in das Fleisch kommen, der ist von Gott;
Mas el que tuviere bienes de este mundo, y viere á su hermano tener necesidad, y le cerrare sus entrañas, ¿cómo está el amor de Dios en él?
But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?
und ein jeglicher Geist, der da nicht bekennet, daß Jesus Christus ist in das Fleisch kommen, der ist nicht von Gott. Und das ist der Geist des Widerchrists, von welchem ihr habt gehöret, daß er kommen werde, und ist jetzt schon in der Welt.

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Kindlein, ihr seid von Gott und habt jene überwunden; denn der in euch ist, ist größer, denn der in der Welt ist.

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

Ihr Lieben, lasset uns untereinander liebhaben; denn die Liebe ist von Gott; und wer liebhat, der ist von Gott geboren und kennet Gott.
Y cualquier cosa que pidiéremos, la recibiremos de él, porque guardamos sus mandamientos, y hacemos las cosas que son agradables delante de él.
And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Wer nicht liebhat, der kennet Gott nicht; denn Gott ist die Liebe:
Y éste es su mandamiento: Que creamos en el nombre de su Hijo Jesucristo, y nos amemos unos á otros como nos lo ha mandado.

And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
