En esto se conoce el espíritu de Dios, todo espíritu, que confiesa que Jesucristo vino al mundo en carne verdadera, es de Dios;
AMADOS, no creáis á todo espíritu, sino probad los espíritus si son de Dios: porque muchos falsos profetas son salidos en el mundo.
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

y todo espíritu, que desune a Jesús , no es de Dios; antes éste es espíritu del Anticristo, de quien tenéis oído que viene, y ya desde ahora está en el mundo.
En esto conoced el Espíritu de Dios: todo espíritu que confiesa que Jesucristo es venido en carne es de Dios:
Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

Vosotros, hijitos míos, de Dios sois, y habéis vencido a aquél, porque el que está con vosotros y os ayuda con su gracia, es mayor que el espíritu del Anticristo que está en el mundo.
Y todo espíritu que no confiesa que Jesucristo es venido en carne, no es de Dios: y éste es el espíritu del anticristo, del cual vosotros habéis oído que ha de venir, y que ahora ya está en el mundo.
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Esos tales son del mundo, y por eso hablan el lenguaje del mundo, y el mundo los escucha.
Hijitos, vosotros sois de Dios, y los habéis vencido; porque el que en vosotros está, es mayor que el que está en el mundo.

Nosotros somos de Dios. Quien conoce a Dios, nos escucha a nosotros; quien no es de Dios, no nos escucha, en esto conocemos los que están animados del espíritu de verdad, y los que lo están del espíritu del error.
Ellos son del mundo; por eso hablan del mundo, y el mundo los oye.
They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

Carísimos, amémonos los unos a los otros, porque la caridad procede de Dios. Y todo aquel que así ama, es hijo de Dios, y conoce a Dios.
Nosotros somos de Dios: el que conoce á Dios, nos oye: el que no es de Dios, no nos oye. Por esto conocemos el espíritu de verdad y el espíritu de error.
We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Quien no tiene este amor, no conoce a Dios, puesto que Dios es todo caridad, o amor.
Carísimos, amémonos unos á otros; porque el amor es de Dios. Cualquiera que ama, es nacido de Dios, y conoce á Dios.

En esto se demostró la caridad de Dios hacia nosotros, en que Dios envió a su Hijo unigénito al mundo, para que por él tengamos la vida.
El que no ama, no conoce á Dios; porque Dios es amor.
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
He who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, for God is love.
Y en esto consiste su caridad; que no es porque nosotros hayamos amado a Dios, sino que él nos amó primero a nosotros, y envió a su Hijo a ser víctima de propiciación por nuestros pecados.
En esto se mostró el amor de Dios para con nosotros, en que Dios envió á su Hijo unigénito al mundo, para que vivamos por él.
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his only born Son into the world that we might live through him.
Queridos míos, si así nos amó Dios, también nosotros debemos amarnos unos a otros.
En esto consiste el amor: no que nosotros hayamos amado á Dios, sino que él nos amó á nosotros, y ha enviado á su Hijo en propiciación por nuestros pecados.

En esto conocemos que vivimos en él, y él en nosotros, porque nos ha comunicado su Espíritu.
Ninguno vió jamás á Dios. Si nos amamos unos á otros, Dios está en nosotros, y su amor es perfecto en nosotros:
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us.
Nosotros fuimos testigos de vista, y damos testimonio de que el Padre envió a su Hijo para ser el Salvador del mundo.
En esto conocemos que estamos en él, y él en nosotros, en que nos ha dado de su Espíritu.
Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
Cualquiera que confesare que Jesús es el Hijo de Dios, Dios está en él, y él en Dios.
Y nosotros hemos visto y testificamos que el Padre ha enviado al Hijo para ser Salvador del mundo.
And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world.
Nosotros así mismo hemos conocido y creído el amor que nos tiene Dios. Dios es caridad, o amor; y el que permanece en la caridad, en Dios permanece, y Dios en él.
Cualquiera que confesare que Jesús es el Hijo de Dios, Dios está en él, y él en Dios.
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

En esto está la perfecta caridad de Dios con nosotros, que nos da confianza para el día del juicio; pues como él es, así somos nosotros en este mundo.
Y nosotros hemos conocido y creído el amor que Dios tiene para con nosotros. Dios es amor; y el que vive en amor, vive en Dios, y Dios en él.
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

En la caridad no hay temor; antes la perfecta caridad echa fuera al temor servil, porque el temor tiene pena; y así el que teme, no es consumado en la caridad.

Y sobre todo tenemos este mandamiento de Dios, que quien ama a Dios, ame también a su hermano.

If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

Todo aquel que cree que Jesús es el Cristo o Mesías, es hijo de Dios. Y quien ama al Padre, ama también a su Hijo.
Y nosotros tenemos este mandamiento de él: Que el que ama á Dios, ame también á su hermano.
And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
