E nós sabemos quem ele é, porque Jesus Cristo veio por meio da água e do sangue: não apenas por água, mas por água e sangue. E o Espírito Santo, que é eternamente verdadeiro, é o que dá testemunho.
Este es Jesucristo, que vino por agua y sangre: no por agua solamente, sino por agua y sangre. Y el Espíritu es el que da testimonio: porque el Espíritu es la verdad.

Portanto, temos estes três que dão testemunho:
Porque tres son los que dan testimonio en el cielo, el Padre, el Verbo, y el Espíritu Santo: y estos tres son uno.
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

o Espírito, a água, e o sangue. E todos eles dizem a mesma coisa: que Jesus Cristo é o Filho de Deus.

Nós cremos nos homens que servem como testemunhas, mas o testemunho de Deus tem valor maior, pois é o testemunho de Deus. E afirma que Jesus é seu Filho.

If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

Todos os que creem no Filho de Deus sabem, em seus próprios corações, que isto é verdade. Se alguém não crê nisto, na realidade está chamando Deus de mentiroso, porque não crê no que Deus afirmou a respeito do seu Filho.
El que cree en el Hijo de Dios, tiene el testimonio en sí mismo: el que no cree á Dios, le ha hecho mentiroso; porque no ha creído en el testimonio que Dios ha testificado de su Hijo.
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who doesn’t believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.
E que foi que Deus afirmou? Que ele nos deu a vida eterna, e que esta vida está no seu Filho.
Y este es el testimonio: Que Dios nos ha dado vida eterna; y esta vida está en su Hijo.
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
The testimony is this: that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
Portanto, todo aquele que tem o Filho de Deus tem a vida; todo aquele que não tem o Filho de Deus não tem a vida.
El que tiene al Hijo, tiene la vida: el que no tiene al Hijo de Dios, no tiene la vida.
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Eu escrevi isto a vocês que creem no nome do Filho de Deus, a fim de que vocês possam saber que têm a vida eterna.
Estas cosas he escrito á vosotros que creéis en el nombre del Hijo de Dios, para que sepáis que tenéis vida eterna, y para que creáis en el nombre del Hijo de Dios.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

E esta é a confiança quando estamos na presença de Deus: que ele nos ouvirá todas as vezes que lhe pedirmos alguma coisa que esteja de acordo com sua vontade.
Y esta es la confianza que tenemos en él, que si demandáremos alguna cosa conforme á su voluntad, él nos oye.
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.
E se nós realmente sabemos que ele está ouvindo quando falamos com ele e fazemos os nossos pedidos, então podemos ter a certeza de que ele nos responderá.
Y si sabemos que él nos oye en cualquiera cosa que demandáremos, sabemos que tenemos las peticiones que le hubiéremos demandado.
And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
Se vocês virem um irmão pecar de uma forma que não cause a morte, devem pedir a Deus que o perdoe, e Deus lhe dará a vida, a não ser que ele tenha cometido pecado que leva à morte. Pois há pecado que causa a morte e por este não digo que se deva orar.
Si alguno viere cometer á su hermano pecado no de muerte, demandará, y se le dará vida; digo á los que pecan no de muerte. Hay pecado de muerte, por el cual yo no digo que ruegue.
If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for those who sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I don’t say that he should make a request concerning this.
É claro que toda injustiça é pecado. Mas há pecados que não levam à morte.
Toda maldad es pecado; mas hay pecado no de muerte.
All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

Ninguém que passou a fazer parte da família de Deus faz do pecado um hábito, pois Cristo, o Filho de Deus, o protege com segurança, e o Maligno não pode pôr as mãos nele.
Sabemos que cualquiera que es nacido de Dios, no peca; mas el que es engendrado de Dios, se guarda á sí mismo, y el maligno no le toca.
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
We know that whoever is born of God doesn’t sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn’t touch him.
Nós sabemos que somos filhos de Deus e que o mundo todo ao nosso redor está sob o poder e o domínio do Maligno.

And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

E sabemos também que o Filho de Deus veio para ajudar-nos a compreender e encontrar o verdadeiro Deus. E agora estamos em Deus, porque estamos em Jesus Cristo seu Filho, que é o único Deus verdadeiro; e ele é a vida eterna.
Empero sabemos que el Hijo de Dios es venido, y nos ha dado entendimiento para conocer al que es verdadero: y estamos en el verdadero, en su Hijo Jesucristo. Este es el verdadero Dios, y la vida eterna.
And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
