Contudo, por amor a seu pai Davi, não vou fazer isso enquanto você estiver vivo. Vou tirar o reino das mãos do seu filho.

E Deus fez com que um outro inimigo se voltasse contra Salomão: Rezom, filho de Eliada, um dos oficiais de Hadadezer, rei de Zobá; Rezom havia abandonado o seu posto e fugido do seu senhor.

Ele se tornou o chefe de um grupo de rebeldes — homens que fugiram com ele para Damasco, onde mais tarde ele se tornou rei, quando Davi destruiu o exército de Zobá.
