En aquel mismo momento apareció una gran grieta en el altar y las cenizas se esparcieron, tal como el profeta había dicho que ocurriría, porque esta era la prueba de que Dios estaba hablando a través de él.

Y el altar se rompió, y derramóse la ceniza del altar, conforme á la señal que el varón de Dios había dado por palabra de Jehová.
