da kam plötzlich auf Geheiß des HERRN ein Gottesmann aus Juda nach Bethel, während Jerobeam gerade am Altar stand, um zu opfern.

Y HE aquí que un varón de Dios por palabra de Jehová vino de Judá á Beth-el; y estando Jeroboam al altar para quemar perfumes,

And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Beth-el: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense.

Behold, a man of God came out of Judah by the LORD’s word to Bethel; and Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn incense.

Dieser rief auf Geheiß des HERRN folgende Worte gegen den Altar aus: »Altar! Altar! So hat der HERR gesprochen: ›Einst wird dem Hause Davids ein Sohn geboren werden namens Josia; der wird auf dir die Höhenpriester schlachten, die auf dir opfern, und Menschengebeine wird man auf dir verbrennen!‹«

El clamó contra el altar por palabra de Jehová, y dijo: Altar, altar, así ha dicho Jehová: He aquí que á la casa de David nacerá un hijo, llamado Josías, el cual sacrificará sobre ti á los sacerdotes de los altos que queman sobre ti perfumes; y sobre ti quemarán huesos de hombres.

And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men’s bones shall be burnt upon thee.

He cried against the altar by the LORD’s word, and said, “Altar! Altar! The LORD says: ‘Behold, a son will be born to David’s house, Josiah by name. On you he will sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and they will burn men’s bones on you.’”

Gleichzeitig kündigte er ein Wunderzeichen an mit den Worten: »Dies ist das Wahrzeichen dafür, daß der HERR es ist, der jetzt durch mich geredet hat: Der Altar da wird jetzt bersten und die Fettasche, die darauf liegt, verschüttet werden.«

Y aquel mismo día dió una señal, diciendo: Esta es la señal de que Jehová ha hablado: he aquí que el altar se quebrará, y la ceniza que sobre él está se derramará.

And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which the LORD hath spoken; Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.

Sobald nun der König die Worte hörte, die der Gottesmann gegen den Altar zu Bethel ausgerufen hatte, streckte Jerobeam seinen Arm aus vom Altar herab und rief: »Nehmt ihn fest!« Aber sein Arm, den er gegen ihn ausgestreckt hatte, erstarrte, so daß er ihn nicht wieder zurückziehen konnte.

Y como el rey Jeroboam oyó la palabra del varón de Dios, que había clamado contra el altar de Beth-el, extendiendo su mano desde el altar, dijo: ¡Prendedle! Mas la mano que había extendido contra él, se le secó, que no la pudo tornar á sí.

And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Beth-el, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him.

When the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar in Bethel, Jeroboam put out his hand from the altar, saying, “Seize him!” His hand, which he put out against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back again to himself.

Der Altar aber barst, und die Fettasche, die darauf lag, wurde vom Altar herab verschüttet, wie der Gottesmann es als Wahrzeichen auf Geheiß des HERRN angekündigt hatte.

Y el altar se rompió, y derramóse la ceniza del altar, conforme á la señal que el varón de Dios había dado por palabra de Jehová.

The altar also was rent, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD.

Da richtete der König an den Gottesmann die Bitte: »Besänftige doch den HERRN, deinen Gott, und bitte für mich, daß ich meinen Arm wieder an mich ziehen kann!« Da legte der Gottesmann Fürsprache beim HERRN ein, so daß der König seinen Arm wieder an sich ziehen konnte und dieser wieder so wurde wie zuvor.

Entonces respondiendo el rey, dijo al varón de Dios: Te pido que ruegues á la faz de Jehová tu Dios, y ora por mí, que mi mano me sea restituída. Y el varón de Dios oró á la faz de Jehová, y la mano del rey se le recuperó, y tornóse como antes.

And the king answered and said unto the man of God, Intreat now the face of the LORD thy God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God besought the LORD, and the king’s hand was restored him again, and became as it was before.

The king answered the man of God, “Now intercede for the favor of the LORD your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me.” The man of God interceded with the LORD, and the king’s hand was restored to him, and became as it was before.

Darauf sagte der König zu dem Gottesmann: »Komm mit mir ins Haus und erquicke dich! Ich will dir auch ein Geschenk geben.«

Y el rey dijo al varón de Dios: Ven conmigo á casa, y comerás, y yo te daré un presente.

And the king said unto the man of God, Come home with me, and refresh thyself, and I will give thee a reward.

The king said to the man of God, “Come home with me and refresh yourself, and I will give you a reward.”

Aber der Gottesmann antwortete dem Könige: »Wenn du mir auch deinen halben Besitz gäbest, so würde ich doch nicht mit dir gehen, würde auch an diesem Ort weder Brot essen noch Wasser trinken.

Mas el varón de Dios dijo al rey: Si me dieses la mitad de tu casa, no iría contigo, ni comería pan ni bebería agua en este lugar;

And the man of God said unto the king, If thou wilt give me half thine house, I will not go in with thee, neither will I eat bread nor drink water in this place:

The man of God said to the king, “Even if you gave me half of your house, I would not go in with you, neither would I eat bread nor drink water in this place;

Denn so ist mir geboten worden durch das Wort des HERRN, das da lautete: ›Du darfst dort weder Brot essen noch Wasser trinken, darfst auch nicht auf dem Wege zurückkehren, auf dem du hingegangen bist!‹«

Porque así me está mandado por palabra de Jehová, diciendo: No comas pan, ni bebas agua, ni vuelvas por el camino que fueres.

For so was it charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest.

for so was it commanded me by the LORD’s word, saying, ‘You shall eat no bread, drink no water, and don’t return by the way that you came.’”

Darauf zog er auf einem andern Wege von dannen und kehrte nicht auf dem Wege zurück, auf dem er nach Bethel gekommen war.

Fuése pues por otro camino, y no volvió por el camino por donde había venido á Beth-el.

So he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Beth-el.

Nun wohnte in Bethel ein alter Prophet; dessen Söhne kamen heim und erzählten ihm alles, was der Gottesmann an jenem Tage in Bethel getan, und die Worte, die er an den König gerichtet hatte. Als sie dies ihrem Vater erzählt hatten,

Moraba á la sazón en Beth-el un viejo profeta, al cual vino su hijo, y contóle todo lo que el varón de Dios había hecho aquel día en Beth-el: contáronle también á su padre las palabras que había hablado al rey.

Now there dwelt an old prophet in Beth-el; and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Beth-el: the words which he had spoken unto the king, them they told also to their father.

Now an old prophet lived in Bethel, and one of his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel. They also told their father the words which he had spoken to the king.

fragte ihr Vater sie, auf welchem Wege er weggegangen sei. Als seine Söhne ihm den Weg bezeichnet hatten, den der Gottesmann, der aus Juda gekommen war, eingeschlagen hatte,

Y su padre les dijo: ¿Por qué camino fué? Y sus hijos le mostraron el camino por donde se había tornado el varón de Dios, que había venido de Judá.

And their father said unto them, What way went he? For his sons had seen what way the man of God went, which came from Judah.

Their father said to them, “Which way did he go?” Now his sons had seen which way the man of God went, who came from Judah.

befahl er seinen Söhnen: »Sattelt mir den Esel!«, und als sie ihm den Esel gesattelt hatten, bestieg er ihn

Y él dijo á sus hijos: Enalbardadme el asno. Y ellos le enalbardaron el asno, y subió en él.

And he said unto his sons, Saddle me the ass. So they saddled him the ass: and he rode thereon,

He said to his sons, “Saddle the donkey for me.” So they saddled the donkey for him; and he rode on it.

und ritt hinter dem Gottesmanne her. Er fand ihn unter der Terebinthe sitzen und fragte ihn: »Bist du der Gottesmann, der aus Juda gekommen ist?« Er antwortete: »Ja.«

Y yendo tras el varón de Dios, hallóle que estaba sentado debajo de un alcornoque: y díjole: ¿Eres tú el varón de Dios que viniste de Judá? Y él dijo: Yo soy.

And went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said unto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I am.

He went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak. He said to him, “Are you the man of God who came from Judah?” He said, “I am.”

Da bat er ihn: »Komm mit mir nach Hause und nimm einen Imbiß bei mir ein!«

Díjole entonces: Ven conmigo á casa, y come del pan.

Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread.

Then he said to him, “Come home with me and eat bread.”

Doch er entgegnete: »Ich darf nicht mit dir umkehren und bei dir einkehren, werde auch an diesem Ort kein Brot essen noch Wasser mit dir trinken;

Mas él respondió: No podré volver contigo, ni iré contigo; ni tampoco comeré pan ni beberé agua contigo en este lugar;

And he said, I may not return with thee, nor go in with thee: neither will I eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place:

He said, “I may not return with you, nor go in with you. I will not eat bread or drink water with you in this place.

denn durch das Wort des HERRN ist mir der Befehl erteilt: ›Du darfst dort weder Brot essen noch Wasser trinken, darfst auch nicht auf dem Wege zurückkehren, auf dem du gekommen bist.‹«

Porque por palabra de Dios me ha sido dicho: No comas pan ni bebas agua allí, ni vuelvas por el camino que fueres.

For it was said to me by the word of the LORD, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest.

For it was said to me by the LORD’s word, ‘You shall eat no bread or drink water there, and don’t turn again to go by the way that you came.’”

Aber jener entgegnete ihm: »Auch ich bin ein Prophet wie du, und ein Engel hat mir auf Geheiß des HERRN geboten: ›Bringe ihn mit dir in dein Haus zurück, auf daß er Brot esse und Wasser trinke!‹« Damit sagte er ihm aber die Unwahrheit.

Y el otro le dijo: Yo también soy profeta como tú, y un ángel me ha hablado por palabra de Jehová, diciendo: Vuélvele contigo á tu casa, para que coma pan y beba agua. Empero mintióle.

He said unto him, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him.

He said to him, “I also am a prophet as you are; and an angel spoke to me by the LORD’s word, saying, ‘Bring him back with you into your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.’” He lied to him.

Da kehrte er mit ihm um und aß Brot in seinem Hause und trank Wasser.

Entonces volvió con él, y comió del pan en su casa, y bebió del agua.

So he went back with him, and did eat bread in his house, and drank water.

Während sie aber bei Tisch saßen, erging das Wort des HERRN an den Propheten, der ihn zurückgeholt hatte;

Y aconteció que, estando ellos á la mesa, fué palabra de Jehová al profeta que le había hecho volver;

And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the word of the LORD came unto the prophet that brought him back:

As they sat at the table, the LORD’s word came to the prophet who brought him back;

und er rief dem Gottesmanne, der aus Juda gekommen war, die Worte zu: »So hat der HERR gesprochen: ›Zur Strafe dafür, daß du gegen den Befehl des HERRN ungehorsam gewesen bist und auf das Gebot, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir gegeben hat, nicht geachtet hast,

Y clamó al varón de Dios que había venido de Judá, diciendo: Así dijo Jehová: Por cuanto has sido rebelde al dicho de Jehová, y no guardaste el mandamiento que Jehová tu Dios te había prescrito,

And he cried unto the man of God that came from Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and hast not kept the commandment which the LORD thy God commanded thee,

and he cried out to the man of God who came from Judah, saying, “The LORD says, ‘Because you have been disobedient to the LORD’s word, and have not kept the commandment which the LORD your God commanded you,

sondern umgekehrt bist und Brot gegessen und Wasser getrunken hast an dem Ort, an welchem der HERR dir zu essen und zu trinken verboten hatte, wird deine Leiche nicht in das Grab deiner Väter kommen!‹«

Sino que volviste, y comiste del pan y bebiste del agua en el lugar donde Jehová te había dicho no comieses pan ni bebieses agua, no entrará tu cuerpo en el sepulcro de tus padres.

But camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which the Lord did say to thee, Eat no bread, and drink no water; thy carcase shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers.

but came back, and have eaten bread and drank water in the place of which he said to you, “Eat no bread, and drink no water,” your body will not come to the tomb of your fathers.’”

Nachdem er nun mit Essen und Trinken fertig war, sattelte er sich den Esel des Propheten, der ihn zurückgeholt hatte.

Y como hubo comido del pan y bebido, el profeta que le había hecho volver le enalbardó un asno;

And it came to pass, after he had eaten bread, and after he had drunk, that he saddled for him the ass, to wit, for the prophet whom he had brought back.

After he had eaten bread and after he drank, he saddled the donkey for the prophet whom he had brought back.

Als er dann weggeritten war, stieß unterwegs ein Löwe auf ihn und tötete ihn, und sein Leichnam lag auf dem Wege hingestreckt, während der Esel neben ihm stehenblieb und auch der Löwe neben dem Toten stand.

Y yéndose, topóle un león en el camino, y matóle; y su cuerpo estaba echado en el camino, y el asno estaba junto á él, y el león también estaba junto al cuerpo.

And when he was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slew him: and his carcase was cast in the way, and the ass stood by it, the lion also stood by the carcase.

When he had gone, a lion met him by the way and killed him. His body was thrown on the path, and the donkey stood by it. The lion also stood by the body.

Als nun Leute, die dort vorübergingen, den Leichnam auf dem Wege hingestreckt und den Löwen neben dem Toten stehen sahen, gingen sie hin und erzählten es in der Stadt, in welcher der alte Prophet wohnte.

Y he aquí unos que pasaban, y vieron el cuerpo que estaba echado en el camino, y el león que estaba junto al cuerpo: y vinieron, y dijéronlo en la ciudad donde el viejo profeta habitaba.

And, behold, men passed by, and saw the carcase cast in the way, and the lion standing by the carcase: and they came and told it in the city where the old prophet dwelt.

Behold, men passed by and saw the body thrown on the path, and the lion standing by the body; and they came and told it in the city where the old prophet lived.

Sobald nun der Prophet, der ihn von der Heimkehr zurückgeholt hatte, dies vernahm, sagte er: »Das ist der Gottesmann, der gegen den Befehl des HERRN ungehorsam gewesen ist; darum hat der HERR ihn dem Löwen preisgegeben; der hat ihn zerrissen und getötet, wie der HERR es ihm vorher angekündigt hatte.«

Y oyéndolo el profeta que le había vuelto del camino, dijo: El varón de Dios es, que fué rebelde al dicho de Jehová: por tanto Jehová le ha entregado al león, que le ha quebrantado y muerto, conforme á la palabra de Jehová que él le dijo.

And when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard thereof, he said, It is the man of God, who was disobedient unto the word of the LORD: therefore the LORD hath delivered him unto the lion, which hath torn him, and slain him, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake unto him.

When the prophet who brought him back from the way heard of it, he said, “It is the man of God who was disobedient to the LORD’s word. Therefore the LORD has delivered him to the lion, which has mauled him and slain him, according to the LORD’s word which he spoke to him.”

Sodann befahl er seinen Söhnen: »Sattelt mir den Esel!«, und als sie ihn gesattelt hatten,

Y habló á sus hijos, y díjoles: Enalbardadme un asno. Y ellos se lo enalbardaron.

And he spake to his sons, saying, Saddle me the ass. And they saddled him.

ritt er hin und fand seine Leiche auf dem Wege hingestreckt, während der Esel und der Löwe neben dem Toten standen: der Löwe hatte den Toten nicht gefressen und den Esel nicht zerrissen.

Y él fué, y halló su cuerpo tendido en el camino, y el asno y el león estaban junto al cuerpo: el león no había comido el cuerpo, ni dañado al asno.

And he went and found his carcase cast in the way, and the ass and the lion standing by the carcase: the lion had not eaten the carcase, nor torn the ass.

He went and found his body thrown on the path, and the donkey and the lion standing by the body. The lion had not eaten the body nor mauled the donkey.

Der Prophet hob nun die Leiche des Gottesmannes auf, lud ihn auf den Esel und brachte ihn in den Wohnort des alten Propheten zurück, um ihm eine Totenfeier zu veranstalten und ihn zu begraben.

Y tomando el profeta el cuerpo del varón de Dios, púsolo sobre el asno, y llevóselo. Y el profeta viejo vino á la ciudad, para endecharle y enterrarle.

And the prophet took up the carcase of the man of God, and laid it upon the ass, and brought it back: and the old prophet came to the city, to mourn and to bury him.

The prophet took up the body of the man of God, and laid it on the donkey, and brought it back. He came to the city of the old prophet to mourn, and to bury him.

Er ließ aber die Leiche in sein eigenes Grab legen, und man hielt ihm die Totenklage: »Ach, mein Bruder!«

Y puso su cuerpo en su sepulcro; y endecháronle, diciendo: ¡Ay, hermano mío!

And he laid his carcase in his own grave; and they mourned over him, saying, Alas, my brother!

He laid his body in his own grave; and they mourned over him, saying, “Alas, my brother!”

Nachdem er ihn aber begraben hatte, sagte er zu seinen Söhnen: »Wenn ich einst gestorben bin, so begrabt mich in demselben Grabe, in welchem der Gottesmann begraben liegt; neben seine Gebeine legt auch die meinigen!

Y después que le hubieron enterrado, habló á sus hijos, diciendo: Cuando yo muriere, enterradme en el sepulcro en que está sepultado el varón de Dios; poned mis huesos junto á los suyos.

And it came to pass, after he had buried him, that he spake to his sons, saying, When I am dead, then bury me in the sepulchre wherein the man of God is buried; lay my bones beside his bones:

After he had buried him, he spoke to his sons, saying, “When I am dead, bury me in the tomb in which the man of God is buried. Lay my bones beside his bones.

Denn die Drohung, die er auf Befehl des HERRN gegen den Altar zu Bethel und gegen alle Höhentempel in den Ortschaften Samarias ausgestoßen hat, wird sicherlich in Erfüllung gehen.«

Porque sin duda vendrá lo que él dijo á voces por palabra de Jehová contra el altar que está en Beth-el, y contra todas las casas de los altos que están en las ciudades de Samaria.

For the saying which he cried by the word of the LORD against the altar in Beth-el, and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of Samaria, shall surely come to pass.

For the saying which he cried by the LORD’s word against the altar in Bethel, and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of Samaria, will surely happen.”

Auch nach dieser Begebenheit ließ Jerobeam von seinem bösen Wandel nicht ab, sondern fuhr fort, alle beliebigen Leute zu Höhenpriestern zu machen; wer nur immer Lust dazu hatte, den setzte er ein und bestellte ihn zum Höhenpriester.

Después de esto no se tornó Jeroboam de su mal camino: antes volvió á hacer sacerdotes de los altos de la clase del pueblo, y quien quería se consagraba, y era de los sacerdotes de los altos.

After this thing Jeroboam returned not from his evil way, but made again of the lowest of the people priests of the high places: whosoever would, he consecrated him, and he became one of the priests of the high places.

After this thing, Jeroboam didn’t turn from his evil way, but again made priests of the high places from among all the people. Whoever wanted to, he consecrated him, that there might be priests of the high places.

Dieses Verfahren führte aber beim Hause Jerobeams zur Versündigung und weiter zu seiner Vernichtung und Vertilgung vom Erdboden hinweg.

Y esto fué causa de pecado á la casa de Jeroboam; por lo cual fué cortada y raída de sobre la haz de la tierra.

And this thing became sin unto the house of Jeroboam, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the face of the earth.
