And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise thyself, that thou be not known to be the wife of Jeroboam; and get thee to Shiloh: behold, there is Ahijah the prophet, which told me that I should be king over this people.

Se conformant à cette parole, la femme de Jéroboam s'en alla à Silo et pénétra dans la maison d'Ahiyya. Or, celui-ci ne pouvait la voir, car la vieillesse avait paralysé ses yeux.

The LORD said to Ahijah, “Behold, Jeroboam’s wife is coming to inquire of you concerning her son, for he is sick. Tell her such and such; for it will be, when she comes in, that she will pretend to be another woman.”

C'est pourquoi je susciterai le malheur à la maison de Jéroboam; je n'en épargnerai pas la plus infime créature, je ne lui laisserai ni retraite ni ressource en Israël, et je balaierai les derniers vestiges de la maison de Jéroboam comme on balaie à fond les ordures.
