1Et la dix-huitième année du roi Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, Abijam commença de régner sur Juda.
2Il régna trois ans à Jérusalem ; et le nom de sa mère était Maaca, fille d’Abishalom.
3Et il marcha dans tous les péchés de son père, que celui-ci avait pratiqués avant lui ; et son cœur ne fut pas parfait avec l’Éternel, son Dieu, comme le cœur de David, son père.
4Toutefois, à cause de David, l’Éternel, son Dieu, lui donna une lampe à Jérusalem, établissant son fils après lui, et faisant subsister Jérusalem ;
5parce que David avait fait ce qui est droit aux yeux de l’Éternel, et ne s’était détourné de rien de ce qu’il lui avait commandé, tous les jours de sa vie, excepté dans l’affaire d’Urie, le Héthien.
6Et il y eut guerre entre Roboam et Jéroboam, tous les jours de sa vie.
7Et le reste des actes d’Abijam, et tout ce qu’il fit, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des chroniques des rois de Juda ? Et il y eut guerre entre Abijam et Jéroboam.
8Et Abijam s’endormit avec ses pères, et on l’enterra dans la ville de David ; et Asa, son fils, régna à sa place.
9Et en la vingtième année de Jéroboam, roi d’Israël, Asa commença de régner sur Juda ;
10et il régna 41 ans à Jérusalem ; et le nom de sa mère était Maaca, fille d’Abishalom.
11Et Asa fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l’Éternel, comme David, son père ;
12et il fit disparaître du pays les hommes voués à la prostitution, et ôta toutes les idoles que ses pères avaient faites.
13Et même à Maaca, sa mère, il ôta sa position de reine, parce qu’elle avait fait un simulacre pour Ashère ; et Asa abattit son simulacre, et le brûla dans la vallée du Cédron.
14Mais les hauts lieux ne furent pas ôtés ; cependant le cœur d’Asa fut parfait avec l’Éternel, tous ses jours.
15Et il apporta dans la maison de l’Éternel les choses saintes de son père et les choses que lui-même avait consacrées, de l’argent, et de l’or, et des ustensiles.
16Et il y eut guerre entre Asa et Baësha, roi d’Israël, tous leurs jours.
17Et Baësha, roi d’Israël, monta contre Juda ; et il bâtit Rama, afin de ne permettre à personne de sortir de chez Asa, roi de Juda, ou d’entrer vers lui.
18Et Asa prit tout l’argent et l’or qui restaient dans les trésors de la maison de l’Éternel et dans les trésors de la maison du roi, et les mit entre les mains de ses serviteurs ; et le roi Asa les envoya à Ben-Hadad, fils de Tabrimmon, fils de Hézion, roi de Syrie, qui habitait à Damas, disant :
19Il y a alliance entre moi et toi, entre mon père et ton père ; voici, je t’envoie un présent d’argent et d’or : va, romps ton alliance avec Baësha, roi d’Israël, afin qu’il s’en aille d’auprès de moi.
20Et Ben-Hadad écouta le roi Asa, et envoya les chefs de ses troupes contre les villes d’Israël, et il frappa Ijon, et Dan, et Abel-Beth-Maaca, et tout Kinneroth avec tout le pays de Nephthali.
21Et il arriva, quand Baësha l’apprit, qu’il se désista de bâtir Rama, et il habita à Thirtsa.
22Et le roi Asa convoqua tout Juda ; personne n’était exempté ; et ils emportèrent les pierres de Rama, et les bois avec lesquels Baësha bâtissait ; et le roi Asa en bâtit Guéba de Benjamin et Mitspa.
23Et le reste de tous les actes d’Asa, et toute sa puissance, et tout ce qu’il fit, et les villes qu’il bâtit, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des chroniques des rois de Juda ? Seulement, au temps de sa vieillesse, il fut malade des pieds.
24Et Asa s’endormit avec ses pères ; et il fut enterré avec ses pères dans la ville de David, son père ; et Josaphat, son fils, régna à sa place.
25*Et Nadab, fils de Jéroboam, commença de régner sur Israël la seconde année d’Asa, roi de Juda ; et il régna sur Israël deux ans.
26Et il fit ce qui est mauvais aux yeux de l’Éternel, et marcha dans la voie de son père et dans son péché par lequel il avait fait pécher Israël.
27Et Baësha, fils d’Akhija, de la maison d’Issacar, conspira contre lui ; et Baësha le frappa à Guibbethon, qui était aux Philistins, pendant que Nadab et tout Israël assiégeaient Guibbethon.
28Et Baësha le mit à mort la troisième année d’Asa, roi de Juda, et régna à sa place.
29Et il arriva que, quand il fut roi, il frappa toute la maison de Jéroboam ; il ne laissa de Jéroboam personne qui respire, jusqu’à ce qu’il ait détruit sa maison selon la parole de l’Éternel qu’il avait dite par son serviteur Akhija, le Silonite,
30à cause des péchés de Jéroboam, qu’il avait commis et par lesquels il avait fait pécher Israël, par sa provocation par laquelle il avait provoqué l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël.
31Et le reste des actes de Nadab, et tout ce qu’il fit, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des chroniques des rois d’Israël ?
32Et il y eut guerre entre Asa et Baësha, roi d’Israël, tous leurs jours.
33La troisième année d’Asa, roi de Juda, Baësha, fils d’Akhija, commença de régner sur tout Israël, à Thirtsa, [et il régna] 24 ans.
34Et il fit ce qui est mauvais aux yeux de l’Éternel, et marcha dans la voie de Jéroboam, et dans son péché par lequel il avait fait pécher Israël.

1EN el año dieciocho del rey Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, Abiam comenzó á reinar sobre Judá.
2Reinó tres años en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fué Maachâ, hija de Abisalom.
3Y anduvo en todos los pecados de su padre, que había éste hecho antes de él; y no fué su corazón perfecto con Jehová su Dios, como el corazón de David su padre.
4Mas por amor de David, dióle Jehová su Dios lámpara en Jerusalem, levantándole á su hijo después de él, y sosteniendo á Jerusalem:
5Por cuanto David había hecho lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, y de ninguna cosa que le mandase se había apartado en todos los días de su vida, excepto el negocio de Uría Hetheo.
6Y hubo guerra entre Roboam y Jeroboam todos los días de su vida.
7Lo demás de los hechos de Abiam, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no están escritas en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Y hubo guerra entre Abiam y Jeroboam.
8Y durmió Abiam con sus padres, y sepultáronlo en la ciudad de David: y reinó Asa su hijo en su lugar.
9En el año veinte de Jeroboam rey de Israel, Asa comenzó á reinar sobre Judá.
10Y reinó cuarenta y un años en Jerusalem; el nombre de su madre fué Maachâ, hija de Abisalom.
11Y Asa hizo lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, como David su padre.
12Porque quitó los sodomitas de la tierra, y quitó todas las suciedades que sus padres habían hecho.
13Y también privó á su madre Maachâ de ser princesa, porque había hecho un ídolo en un bosque. Además deshizo Asa el ídolo de su madre, y quemólo junto al torrente de Cedrón.
14Empero los altos no se quitaron: con todo, el corazón de Asa fué perfecto para con Jehová toda su vida.
15También metió en la casa de Jehová lo que su padre había dedicado, y lo que él dedicó: oro, y plata, y vasos.
16Y hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa rey de Israel, todo el tiempo de ambos.
17Y subió Baasa rey de Israel contra Judá, y edificó á Rama, para no dejar salir ni entrar á ninguno de Asa, rey de Judá.
18Entonces tomando Asa toda la plata y oro que había quedado en los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros de la casa real, entrególos en las manos de sus siervos, y enviólos el rey Asa á Ben-adad, hijo de Tabrimón, hijo de Hezión, rey de Siria, el cual residía en Damasco, diciendo:
19Alianza hay entre mí y ti, y entre mi padre y el tuyo: he aquí yo te envío un presente de plata y oro: ve, y rompe tu alianza con Baasa rey de Israel, para que me deje.
20Y Ben-adad consintió con el rey Asa, y envió los príncipes de los ejércitos que tenía contra las ciudades de Israel, é hirió á Ahión, y á Dan, y á Abel-beth-maachâ, y á toda Cinneroth, con toda la tierra de Nephtalí.
21Y oyendo esto Baasa, dejó de edificar á Rama, y estúvose en Thirsa.
22Entonces el rey Asa convocó á todo Judá, sin exceptuar ninguno; y quitaron de Rama la piedra y la madera con que Baasa edificaba, y edificó el rey Asa con ello á Gabaa de Benjamín, y á Mizpa.
23Lo demás de todos los hechos de Asa, y toda su fortaleza, y todas las cosas que hizo, y las ciudades que edificó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Mas en el tiempo de su vejez enfermó de sus pies.
24Y durmió Asa con sus padres, y fué sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David su padre: y reinó en su lugar Josaphat su hijo.
25Y Nadab, hijo de Jeroboam, comenzó á reinar sobre Israel en el segundo año de Asa rey de Judá; y reinó sobre Israel dos años.
26E hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, andando en el camino de su padre, y en sus pecados con que hizo pecar á Israel.
27Y Baasa hijo de Ahía, el cual era de la casa de Issachâr, hizo conspiración contra él: é hiriólo Baasa en Gibbethón, que era de los Filisteos: porque Nadab y todo Israel tenían cercado á Gibbethón.
28Matólo pues Baasa en el tercer año de Asa rey de Judá, y reinó en lugar suyo.
29Y como él vino al reino, hirió toda la casa de Jeroboam, sin dejar alma viviente de los de Jeroboam, hasta raerlo, conforme á la palabra de Jehová que él habló por su siervo Ahías Silonita;
30Por los pecados de Jeroboam que él había cometido, y con los cuales hizo pecar á Israel; y por su provocación con que provocó á enojo á Jehová Dios de Israel.
31Lo demás de los hechos de Nadab, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
32Y hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa rey de Israel, todo el tiempo de ambos.

1Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.
2Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
3And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.
4Nevertheless for David’s sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:
5Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
6And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
7Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
8And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.
9And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.
10And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
11And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.
12And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
13And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.
14But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa’s heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.
15And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.
16And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
17And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
18Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Ben-hadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
19There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
20So Ben-hadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-beth-maachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
21And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
22Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
23The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
24And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.
25And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.
26And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
27And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.

30Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.
