1Abías comenzó a reinar sobre Judá,
2y reinó tres años en Jerusalén. La madre de Abías fue Macá, hija de Abisalón. Cuando comenzó a reinar, ya Jeroboán llevaba dieciocho años reinando sobre Israel.
3Fue tan pecador como su padre, y su corazón no fue leal a Dios, como sí lo fue el de David.
4Pero a pesar del pecado de Abías, el Señor recordó el amor de David y no permitió que se acabara la dinastía de David. Por eso, permitió que Abías tuviera un hijo que se sentara sobre el trono en Jerusalén.
5Porque David había obedecido al Señor durante toda su vida, salvo en el asunto de Urías el hitita.
6Durante el reinado de Abías hubo guerra permanente entre Israel y Judá.
7El resto de la historia de Abías está escrita en el libro de los reyes de Judá.
8Cuando murió, fue sepultado en la Ciudad de David, y en su lugar reinó su hijo Asá.
9Asá subió al trono de Judá en Jerusalén, cuando Jeroboán llevaba veinte años reinando sobre Israel,
10y reinó cuarenta y un años (su abuela fue Macá, la hija de Abisalón).
11Asá agradó al Señor, tal como lo había hecho el rey David.
12Echó de la tierra a todos los que practicaban la prostitución como si fuera un acto de adoración, y destruyó todos los ídolos que su padre había hecho.
13Depuso a su abuela Macá, como reina madre, debido a que ella había hecho un ídolo. Asá destruyó y quemó este ídolo en el arroyo de Cedrón.
14Sin embargo, no quitó los santuarios de las colinas. Pero, aun así, se mantuvo fiel al Señor.
15También llevó al templo del Señor el oro, la plata y demás objetos que él y su padre le habían ofrecido a Dios.
16Hubo guerra constante entre el rey Asá, de Judá, y el rey Basá, de Israel.
17El rey Basá construyó la ciudad fortificada de Ramá, en un intento de acabar con todo trato con Jerusalén.
18Entonces Asá tomó todo el oro y la plata que había en la tesorería del templo del Señor y en los tesoros de la casa del rey, y se lo dio a sus siervos para que lo llevaran a Damasco, al rey Ben Adad. Este era hijo de Tabrimón y nieto de Hezión. Junto con este presente, Asá le envió el siguiente mensaje a Ben Adad:
19«Hagamos alianza de la manera que nuestros padres la hicieron. Te envío un presente de oro y plata. Rompe ahora tu alianza con el rey Basá, de Israel, para que se marche y me deje tranquilo».
20Ben Adad estuvo de acuerdo, y envió sus jefes contra algunas de las ciudades de Israel, y conquistó a Iyón, Dan, Abel Betmacá, todo Quinéret, y la región de Neftalí.
21Cuando Basá supo del ataque, dejó de edificar la ciudad de Ramá y se volvió a Tirsá.
22Entonces el rey Asá convocó a todos los de Judá, y pidió que todo hombre capacitado ayudara a demoler Ramá y a acarrear sus piedras y la madera. El rey Asá usó estos materiales para edificar la ciudad de Gueba de Benjamín y la ciudad de Mizpa.
23El resto de la biografía de Asá, sus conquistas y hechos y los nombres de las ciudades que edificó se encuentra en el libro de los reyes de Judá. En su ancianidad se enfermó de los pies,
24y cuando murió fue sepultado en el cementerio real de la Ciudad de David. El nuevo rey de Judá fue su hijo Josafat.
25Mientras tanto, en Israel, Nadab, el hijo de Jeroboán, era el nuevo rey. Reinó dos años, comenzando en el segundo año del reinado de Asá, de Judá.
26Pero no fue un buen rey. Al igual que su padre, adoró muchos ídolos y condujo a Israel al pecado.
27Entonces Basá (el hijo de Ahías, de la tribu de Isacar) levantó una sedición en su contra y lo asesinó, mientras estaba con Israel sitiando la ciudad filistea de Guibetón.
28Esto ocurrió cuando Asá, rey de Judá, llevaba tres años reinando sobre Judá. Fue así como Basá, después de matar a Nadad, lo sucedió en el trono.
29Inmediatamente mató a todos los descendientes del rey Jeroboán, de manera de que nadie quedó de la familia real, tal como el Señor lo había anunciado por medio del profeta Ahías, de Siló.
30Esto ocurrió porque Jeroboán había hecho enojar al Señor, Dios de Israel, pecando y conduciendo al resto de Israel al pecado.
31Los demás detalles del reinado de Basá están escritos en el libro de los reyes de Israel.
32Hubo guerra permanente entre el rey Asá, de Judá, y el rey Basá, de Israel.
33Cuando Asá, rey de Judá, llevaba ya tres años reinando, Basá hijo de Ahías comenzó a reinar sobre todo Israel. Su reinado duró veinticuatro años, y la capital de su reino fue Tirsá.
34Continuamente desobedeció al Señor, ya que siguió el mal ejemplo de Jeroboán, e hizo que el pueblo de Israel siguiera el pecado de adorar ídolos.

1EN el año dieciocho del rey Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, Abiam comenzó á reinar sobre Judá.
2Reinó tres años en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fué Maachâ, hija de Abisalom.
3Y anduvo en todos los pecados de su padre, que había éste hecho antes de él; y no fué su corazón perfecto con Jehová su Dios, como el corazón de David su padre.
4Mas por amor de David, dióle Jehová su Dios lámpara en Jerusalem, levantándole á su hijo después de él, y sosteniendo á Jerusalem:
5Por cuanto David había hecho lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, y de ninguna cosa que le mandase se había apartado en todos los días de su vida, excepto el negocio de Uría Hetheo.
6Y hubo guerra entre Roboam y Jeroboam todos los días de su vida.
7Lo demás de los hechos de Abiam, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no están escritas en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Y hubo guerra entre Abiam y Jeroboam.
8Y durmió Abiam con sus padres, y sepultáronlo en la ciudad de David: y reinó Asa su hijo en su lugar.
9En el año veinte de Jeroboam rey de Israel, Asa comenzó á reinar sobre Judá.
10Y reinó cuarenta y un años en Jerusalem; el nombre de su madre fué Maachâ, hija de Abisalom.
11Y Asa hizo lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, como David su padre.
12Porque quitó los sodomitas de la tierra, y quitó todas las suciedades que sus padres habían hecho.
13Y también privó á su madre Maachâ de ser princesa, porque había hecho un ídolo en un bosque. Además deshizo Asa el ídolo de su madre, y quemólo junto al torrente de Cedrón.
14Empero los altos no se quitaron: con todo, el corazón de Asa fué perfecto para con Jehová toda su vida.
15También metió en la casa de Jehová lo que su padre había dedicado, y lo que él dedicó: oro, y plata, y vasos.
16Y hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa rey de Israel, todo el tiempo de ambos.
17Y subió Baasa rey de Israel contra Judá, y edificó á Rama, para no dejar salir ni entrar á ninguno de Asa, rey de Judá.
18Entonces tomando Asa toda la plata y oro que había quedado en los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y los tesoros de la casa real, entrególos en las manos de sus siervos, y enviólos el rey Asa á Ben-adad, hijo de Tabrimón, hijo de Hezión, rey de Siria, el cual residía en Damasco, diciendo:
19Alianza hay entre mí y ti, y entre mi padre y el tuyo: he aquí yo te envío un presente de plata y oro: ve, y rompe tu alianza con Baasa rey de Israel, para que me deje.
20Y Ben-adad consintió con el rey Asa, y envió los príncipes de los ejércitos que tenía contra las ciudades de Israel, é hirió á Ahión, y á Dan, y á Abel-beth-maachâ, y á toda Cinneroth, con toda la tierra de Nephtalí.
21Y oyendo esto Baasa, dejó de edificar á Rama, y estúvose en Thirsa.
22Entonces el rey Asa convocó á todo Judá, sin exceptuar ninguno; y quitaron de Rama la piedra y la madera con que Baasa edificaba, y edificó el rey Asa con ello á Gabaa de Benjamín, y á Mizpa.
23Lo demás de todos los hechos de Asa, y toda su fortaleza, y todas las cosas que hizo, y las ciudades que edificó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Mas en el tiempo de su vejez enfermó de sus pies.
24Y durmió Asa con sus padres, y fué sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David su padre: y reinó en su lugar Josaphat su hijo.
25Y Nadab, hijo de Jeroboam, comenzó á reinar sobre Israel en el segundo año de Asa rey de Judá; y reinó sobre Israel dos años.
26E hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, andando en el camino de su padre, y en sus pecados con que hizo pecar á Israel.
27Y Baasa hijo de Ahía, el cual era de la casa de Issachâr, hizo conspiración contra él: é hiriólo Baasa en Gibbethón, que era de los Filisteos: porque Nadab y todo Israel tenían cercado á Gibbethón.
28Matólo pues Baasa en el tercer año de Asa rey de Judá, y reinó en lugar suyo.
29Y como él vino al reino, hirió toda la casa de Jeroboam, sin dejar alma viviente de los de Jeroboam, hasta raerlo, conforme á la palabra de Jehová que él habló por su siervo Ahías Silonita;
30Por los pecados de Jeroboam que él había cometido, y con los cuales hizo pecar á Israel; y por su provocación con que provocó á enojo á Jehová Dios de Israel.
31Lo demás de los hechos de Nadab, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
32Y hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa rey de Israel, todo el tiempo de ambos.
33En el tercer año de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Baasa hijo de Ahía sobre todo Israel en Thirsa; y reinó veinticuatro años.
34E hizo lo malo á los ojos de Jehová, y anduvo en el camino de Jeroboam, y en su pecado con que hizo pecar á Israel.

1Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.
2Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
3And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.
4Nevertheless for David’s sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:
5Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
6And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
7Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
8And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.
9And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.
10And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
11And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.
12And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
13And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.
14But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa’s heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.
15And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.
16And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
17And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
18Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Ben-hadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
19There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
20So Ben-hadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-beth-maachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
21And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
22Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
23The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
24And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.
25And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.
26And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
27And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.
28Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead.
29And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:
