34Durante el reinado de Acab, un hombre llamado Hiel, que era de Betel, reconstruyó la ciudad de Jericó. Tal como Yahvé lo había anunciado por medio de Josué hijo de Nun, Hiel perdió a su hijo mayor, Abiram, cuando puso los cimientos de la ciudad, y a su hijo menor, Segub, cuando colocó las puertas.

34En su tiempo Hiel de Beth-el reedificó á Jericó. En Abiram su primogénito echó el cimiento, y en Segub su hijo postrero puso sus puertas; conforme á la palabra de Jehová que había hablado por Josué hijo de Nun.

34In his days did Hiel the Beth-elite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun.
