1Allora la parola del Signore fu indirizzata a Iehu, figliuolo di Hanani, contro a Baasa, dicendo:
2Perciocchè avendoti io innalzato dalla polvere, ed avendoti posto per conduttore sopra il mio popolo Israele, pur sei camminato nella via di Geroboamo, e hai fatto peccare il mio popolo Israele, per dispettarmi co' lor peccati;
3ecco io sarò dietro a Baasa, e dietro alla sua casa, per torla via; e farò che la tua casa sarà come la casa di Geroboamo, figliuolo di Nebat.
4Colui che sarà morto a Baasa nella città, i cani lo mangeranno; e colui che gli sarà morto per i campi, gli uccelli del cielo lo mangeranno.
5Ora, quant'è al rimanente de' fatti di Baasa, e ciò ch'egli fece, e le sue prodezze; queste cose non son esse scritte nel Libro delle Croniche dei re d'Israele?
6E Baasa giacque co' suoi padri, e fu seppellito in Tirsa; ed Ela, suo figliuolo, regnò in luogo suo.
7Ora il Signore avea parlato per lo profeta Iehu, figliuolo di Hanani, contro a Baasa, e contro alla sua casa, così per cagione di tutto il male ch'egli avea commesso davanti al Signore, dispettandolo con le opere delle sue mani; dinunziandogli ch'ella sarebbe come la casa di Geroboamo; come anche perciocchè egli l'avea percossa.
8L'ANNO ventesimosesto d'Asa, re di Giuda, Ela, figliuolo di Baasa, cominciò a regnare sopra Israele, e regnò in Tirsa due anni.
9E Zimri, suo servitore, capitano della metà de' suoi carri, congiurò contro a lui. Or egli era in Tirsa, bevendo, ed ebbro, in casa di Arsa, suo mastro di casa in Tirsa.
10E Zimri venne, e lo percosse, e l'uccise l'anno ventesimosettimo d'Asa, re di Giuda, e regnò in luogo suo.
11E quando egli fu re, come prima fu assiso sopra il trono di Ela, egli percosse tutta la casa di Baasa; egli non gli lasciò in vita pur un bambino, nè parenti, nè amici.
12Così Zimri distrusse tutta la casa di Baasa, secondo la parola del Signore, ch'egli avea pronunziata contro a Baasa, per Iehu profeta;
13per tutti i peccati di Baasa, e di Ela, suo figliuolo, i quali aveano commessi, ed aveano fatti commettere ad Israele, dispettando il Signore Iddio d'Israele con gl'idoli loro.
14Or, quant'è al rimanente de' fatti d'Ela, e tutto ciò ch'egli fece; queste cose non son esse scritte nel Libro delle Croniche dei re d'Israele?
15L'anno ventesimosettimo d'Asa, re di Giuda, Zimri cominciò a regnare, e regnò sette giorni in Tirsa. Or il popolo era a campo contro a Ghibbeton de' Filistei.
16Ed avendo udito che Zimri avea fatta una congiura, e che avea eziandio percosso il re, tutti gl'Israeliti, quel giorno istesso, costituirono re sopra Israele Omri, capo dell'esercito, nel campo.
17Ed Omri salì, insieme con tutto Israele, da Ghibbeton, ed assediarono Tirsa.
18E come Zimri vide che la città era presa, entrò nel palazzo della casa reale, ed arse col fuoco la casa reale sopra sè, e così morì;
19per i suoi peccati ch'egli avea commessi, facendo ciò che dispiace al Signore, camminando nella via di Geroboamo, e nel peccato di esso, il quale egli avea commesso, facendo peccare Israele.
20Ora, quant'è al rimanente de' fatti di Zimri, e la congiura ch'egli fece; queste cose non son esse scritte nel Libro delle Croniche dei re d'Israele?
21Allora il popolo d'Israele fu diviso in due parti; l'una seguitava Tibni, figliuolo di Ghinat, per farlo re; e l'altra seguitava Omri.
22Ma il popolo, che seguitava Omri, fu più forte che quello che seguitava Tibni, figliuolo di Ghinat; e Tibni morì, ed Omri regnò.
23L'anno trentuno d'Asa, re di Giuda, Omri cominciò a regnare sopra Israele, e regnò dodici anni; in Tirsa regnò sei anni.
24E comperò il monte di Samaria da Semer, per due talenti di argento, ed edificò una città in quel monte; e chiamò quella città, ch'egli edificò: Samaria, del nome di Semer, ch'era stato signore di quel monte.
25Ed Omri fece ciò che dispiace al Signore, e fece peggio che tutti quelli ch'erano stati davanti a lui;
26e camminò in tutte le vie di Geroboamo, figliuolo di Nebat, e nel peccato di esso, col quale egli avea fatto peccare Israele, dispettando il Signore Iddio d'Israele co' loro idoli.
27Ora, quant'è al rimanente de' fatti d'Omri, e le prodezze ch'egli fece; queste cose non sono esse scritte nel Libro delle Croniche dei re d'Israele?
28Ed Omri giacque co' suoi padri, e fu seppellito in Samaria; ed Achab, suo figliuolo, regnò in luogo suo.
29ED Achab, figliuolo d'Omri, cominciò a regnare sopra Israele l'anno trentesimottavo d'Asa, re di Giuda; e regnò in Samaria sopra Israele ventidue anni.
30Ed Achab, figliuolo d'Omri, fece ciò che dispiace al Signore, più che tutti quelli ch'erano stati davanti a lui.
31Ed avvenne che, come se fosse stata leggier cosa di camminare ne' peccati di Geroboamo, figliuolo di Nebat, egli prese per moglie Izebel, figliuola d'Et-baal, re de' Sidonii; e andò, e servì a Baal, e l'adorò;
32e rizzò un altare a Baal, nella casa di Baal, la quale egli avea edificata in Samaria.
33Achab fece ancora un bosco. Ed Achab fece vie peggio che tutti i re d'Israele, ch'erano stati davanti a lui, per dispettare il Signore Iddio d'Israele.
34Nel suo tempo, Hiel, da Betel, riedificò Gerico, e la fondò sopra Abiram, suo primogenito; e posò le porte di essa sopra Segub, suo figliuol minore; secondo la parola del Signore, la quale egli avea pronunziata per Giosuè, figliuolo di Nun.

1Y FUÉ palabra de Jehová á Jehú hijo de Hanani contra Baasa, diciendo:
2Pues que yo te levanté del polvo, y te puse por príncipe sobre mi pueblo Israel, y tú has andado en el camino de Jeroboam, y has hecho pecar á mi pueblo Israel, provocándome á ira con sus pecados;
3He aquí yo barreré la posteridad de Baasa, y la posteridad de su casa: y pondré tu casa como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat.
4El que de Baasa fuere muerto en la ciudad, le comerán los perros; y el que de él fuere muerto en el campo, comerlo han las aves del cielo.
5Lo demás de los hechos de Baasa, y las cosas que hizo, y su fortaleza, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
6Y durmió Baasa con sus padres, y fué sepultado en Thirsa; y reinó en su lugar Ela su hijo.
7Empero la palabra de Jehová por mano de Jehú profeta, hijo de Hanani, había sido contra Baasa y también contra su casa, con motivo de todo lo malo que hizo á los ojos de Jehová, provocándole á ira con las obras de sus manos, para que fuese hecha como la casa de Jeroboam; y porque lo había herido.
8En el año veintiséis de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Ela hijo de Baasa sobre Israel en Thirsa; y reinó dos años.
9E hizo conjuración contra él su siervo Zimri, comandante de la mitad de los carros. Y estando él en Thirsa, bebiendo y embriagado en casa de Arsa su mayordomo en Thirsa,
10Vino Zimri, y lo hirió y mató, en el año veintisiete de Asa rey de Judá; y reinó en lugar suyo.
11Y luego que llegó á reinar y estuvo sentado en su trono, hirió toda la casa de Baasa, sin dejar en ella meante á la pared, ni sus parientes ni amigos.
12Así rayó Zimri toda la casa de Baasa, conforme á la palabra de Jehová, que había proferido contra Baasa por medio del profeta Jehú;
13Por todos los pecados de Baasa, y los pecados de Ela su hijo, con que ellos pecaron é hicieron pecar á Israel, provocando á enojo á Jehová Dios de Israel con sus vanidades.
14Los demás hechos de Ela, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
15En el año veintisiete de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Zimri, y reinó siete días en Thirsa; y el pueblo había asentado campo sobre Gibbethón, ciudad de los Filisteos.
16Y el pueblo que estaba en el campo oyó decir: Zimri ha hecho conjuración, y ha muerto al rey. Entonces todo Israel levantó el mismo día por rey sobre Israel á Omri, general del ejército, en el campo.
17Y subió Omri de Gibbethón, y con él todo Israel, y cercaron á Thirsa.
18Mas viendo Zimri tomada la ciudad, metióse en el palacio de la casa real, y pegó fuego á la casa consigo: así murió,
19Por sus pecados que él había cometido, haciendo lo malo á los ojos de Jehová, y andando en los caminos de Jeroboam, y en su pecado que cometió, haciendo pecar á Israel.
20Los demás hechos de Zimri, y su conspiración que formó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
21Entonces el pueblo de Israel fué dividido en dos partes: la mitad del pueblo seguía á Thibni hijo de Gineth, para hacerlo rey: y la otra mitad seguía á Omri.
22Mas el pueblo que seguía á Omri, pudo más que el que seguía á Thibni hijo de Gineth; y Thibni murió, y Omri fué rey.
23En el año treinta y uno de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Omri sobre Israel, y reinó doce años: en Thirsa reinó seis años.
24Y compró él de Semer el monte de Samaria por dos talentos de plata, y edificó en el monte: y llamó el nombre de la ciudad que edificó, Samaria, del nombre de Semer, señor que fué de aquel monte.
25Y Omri hizo lo malo á los ojos de Jehová, é hizo peor que todos los que habían sido antes de él:
26Pues anduvo en todos los caminos de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y en su pecado con que hizo pecar á Israel, provocando á ira á Jehová Dios de Israel con sus ídolos.
27Lo demás de los hechos de Omri, y todas las cosas que hizo, y sus valentías que ejecutó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?
28Y Omri durmió con sus padres, y fué sepultado en Samaria; y reinó en lugar suyo Achâb, su hijo.
29Y comenzó á reinar Achâb hijo de Omri sobre Israel el año treinta y ocho de Asa rey de Judá.
30Y reinó Achâb hijo de Omri sobre Israel en Samaria veintidós años. Y Achâb hijo de Omri hizo lo malo á los ojos de Jehová sobre todos los que fueron antes de él;
31Porque le fué ligera cosa andar en los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y tomó por mujer á Jezabel hija de Ethbaal rey de los Sidonios, y fué y sirvió á Baal, y lo adoró.
32E hizo altar á Baal, en el templo de Baal que él edificó en Samaria.
33Hizo también Achâb un bosque; y añadió Achâb haciendo provocar á ira á Jehová Dios de Israel, más que todos los reyes de Israel que antes de él habían sido.
34En su tiempo Hiel de Beth-el reedificó á Jericó. En Abiram su primogénito echó el cimiento, y en Segub su hijo postrero puso sus puertas; conforme á la palabra de Jehová que había hablado por Josué hijo de Nun.

1Then the word of the LORD came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
2Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;
3Behold, I will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house; and will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
4Him that dieth of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth of his in the fields shall the fowls of the air eat.
5Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
6So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah: and Elah his son reigned in his stead.
7And also by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the LORD against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did in the sight of the LORD, in provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed him.
8In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, two years.
9And his servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him, as he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza steward of his house in Tirzah.
10And Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him, in the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.
11And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he slew all the house of Baasha: he left him not one that pisseth against a wall, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
12Thus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
13For all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, by which they sinned, and by which they made Israel to sin, in provoking the LORD God of Israel to anger with their vanities.
14Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
15In the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah did Zimri reign seven days in Tirzah. And the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.
16And the people that were encamped heard say, Zimri hath conspired, and hath also slain the king: wherefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel that day in the camp.
17And Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.
18And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the palace of the king’s house, and burnt the king’s house over him with fire, and died,
19For his sins which he sinned in doing evil in the sight of the LORD, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel to sin.
20Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he wrought, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
21Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri.
22But the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.
23In the thirty and first year of Asa king of Judah began Omri to reign over Israel, twelve years: six years reigned he in Tirzah.
24And he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver, and built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer, owner of the hill, Samaria.
25But Omri wrought evil in the eyes of the LORD, and did worse than all that were before him.
26For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin, to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger with their vanities.
27Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he shewed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

31And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.

1The LORD’s word came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
2“Because I exalted you out of the dust and made you prince over my people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins,
3behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house; and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
4The dogs will eat Baasha’s descendants who die in the city; and he who dies of his in the field, the birds of the sky will eat.”
5Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

8In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha began to reign over Israel in Tirzah for two years.
9His servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah;
10and Zimri went in and struck him and killed him in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place.
11When he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, he attacked all the house of Baasha. He didn’t leave him a single one who urinates on a wall among his relatives or his friends.
12Thus Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha, according to the LORD’s word which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
13for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned and with which they made Israel to sin, to provoke the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.
