Então o profeta Jeú, filho de Hanani, entregou ao rei Baasa uma mensagem do Senhor. Essa mensagem dizia:

Y FUÉ palabra de Jehová á Jehú hijo de Hanani contra Baasa, diciendo:

Then the word of the LORD came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

“Levantei você do pó a fim de fazer de você líder do meu povo Israel; mas você tem andado nos maus caminhos de Jeroboão. Você fez meu povo pecar e provocou a minha ira por causa dos seus pecados!

Pues que yo te levanté del polvo, y te puse por príncipe sobre mi pueblo Israel, y tú has andado en el camino de Jeroboam, y has hecho pecar á mi pueblo Israel, provocándome á ira con sus pecados;

Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;

“Because I exalted you out of the dust and made you prince over my people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins,

Por isso, agora estou prestes a destruir você e sua família, da mesma maneira que fiz com Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, e seus filhos.

He aquí yo barreré la posteridad de Baasa, y la posteridad de su casa: y pondré tu casa como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat.

Behold, I will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house; and will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

A mensagem foi enviada a Baasa e sua família, por meio do profeta Jeú, filho de Hanani, porque ele havia provocado o Senhor com todos os seus atos maus. Ele foi tão mau como a família de Jeroboão, apesar do fato de ter destruído todos os filhos de Jeroboão por causa dos seus pecados.

Empero la palabra de Jehová por mano de Jehú profeta, hijo de Hanani, había sido contra Baasa y también contra su casa, con motivo de todo lo malo que hizo á los ojos de Jehová, provocándole á ira con las obras de sus manos, para que fuese hecha como la casa de Jeroboam; y porque lo había herido.

And also by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the LORD against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did in the sight of the LORD, in provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed him.

Elá, filho de Baasa, começou a reinar no vigésimo sexto ano do reinado de Asa, rei de Judá, porém reinou somente dois anos em Tirza.

Então o general Zinri, que era encarregado da metade dos carros reais, conspirou contra ele. Um dia o rei Elá estava bêbado na casa de Arsa, o mordomo do palácio em Tirza, que era a capital.

And his servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him, as he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza steward of his house in Tirzah.

Zinri entrou, deu um golpe no rei e o matou. Isso ocorreu no vigésimo sétimo ano do reinado de Asa, rei de Judá. Depois Zinri declarou-se o novo rei de Israel.

Imediatamente depois de tomar o trono, matou toda a família de Baasa, não deixando ninguém vivo do sexo masculino. Ele destruiu até os parentes e amigos.

And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he slew all the house of Baasha: he left him not one that pisseth against a wall, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.

Essa destruição da família de Baasa por Zinri estava dentro da palavra que o Senhor tinha dito por intermédio do profeta Jeú.

A tragédia aconteceu por causa dos pecados de Baasa e do seu filho Elá; porque eles tinham levado Israel a adorar ídolos inúteis e provocado a ira do Senhor, o Deus de Israel.

Por todos los pecados de Baasa, y los pecados de Ela su hijo, con que ellos pecaron é hicieron pecar á Israel, provocando á enojo á Jehová Dios de Israel con sus vanidades.

No vigésimo sétimo ano do reinado de Asa, rei de Judá, Zinri reinou somente sete dias em Tirza. O exército de Israel estava acampado perto da cidade de Gibetom dos filisteus.

En el año veintisiete de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Zimri, y reinó siete días en Thirsa; y el pueblo había asentado campo sobre Gibbethón, ciudad de los Filisteos.

Quando eles ouviram dizer que Zinri havia conspirado contra o rei e o tinha assassinado, eles, no mesmo dia, no acampamento, escolheram o general Onri, comandante do exército, como o novo rei de Israel.

Quando Zinri viu que a cidade tinha sido tomada, foi para o palácio e pôs fogo em si mesmo e morreu.

Pois ele também tinha pecado, fazendo o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, andando nos caminhos de Jeroboão e no pecado que ele tinha cometido, e levando o povo de Israel a pecar com ele.

Então o reino de Israel dividiu-se em dois partidos: metade do povo apoiou Tibni, filho de Ginate, para fazê-lo rei, e a outra metade ficou leal ao general Onri.

Porém, Acabe, filho de Onri, fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor e foi ainda mais perverso do que seu pai Onri; ele foi mais perverso do que qualquer outro rei de Israel!

E como se isso não fosse suficiente, cometendo os mesmos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, ele se casou com Jezabel, filha de Etbaal, rei de Sidom, e começou a adorar e servir a Baal.
