Mas Elías de Tesbe, habitante de Galaad, dijo a Acab: Vive el Señor Dios de Israel, de quien yo soy siervo, que no ha de caer rocío ni lluvia en estos años, sino hasta que yo lo dijere.
ENTONCES Elías Thisbita, que era de los moradores de Galaad, dijo á Achâb: Vive Jehová Dios de Israel, delante del cual estoy, que no habrá lluvia ni rocío en estos años, sino por mi palabra.
And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
Elijah the Tishbite, who was one of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”
Y le habló el Señor, diciéndole:
Y fué á él palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,
Then the LORD’s word came to him, saying,
Sal de aquí, y encamínate hacia el oriente, y escóndete en el arroyo de Carit, que está enfrente del Jordán.
Apártate de aquí, y vuélvete al oriente, y escóndete en el arroyo de Cherith, que está delante del Jordán;
Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
“Go away from here, turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, that is before the Jordan.
Allí beberás del arroyo; y ya he mandado yo a los cuervos que te lleven allí de comer.
Y beberás del arroyo; y yo he mandado á los cuervos que te den allí de comer.
And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
You shall drink from the brook. I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”
Se fue, pues, y ejecutó las órdenes del Señor; y se retiró junto al arroyo de Carit, que corre enfrente del Jordán;
Y él fué, é hizo conforme á la palabra de Jehová; pues se fué y asentó junto al arroyo de Cherith, que está antes del Jordán.
So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

a donde los cuervos le llevaban pan y carne por la mañana, y asimismo pan y carne por la tarde; y bebía del arroyo.

And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

Mas pasados algunos días, se secó el arroyo; porque faltaron las lluvias sobre la tierra.

And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

Por tanto, le habló el Señor y le dijo:

Anda y vete a Sarepta, ciudad de los sidonios, y fija en ella tu morada; porque yo tengo allí dispuesto que una mujer viuda te sustente.
Levántate, vete á Sarepta de Sidón, y allí morarás: he aquí yo he mandado allí á una mujer viuda que te sustente.
Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
“Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and stay there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain you.”
Partió, pues, y se fue a Sarepta, y al llegar a la puerta de la ciudad, se encontró con una mujer viuda que andaba recogiendo leña; y llamándola le dijo: Dame en un vaso un poco de agua para beber.
Entonces él se levantó, y se fué á Sarepta. Y como llegó á la puerta de la ciudad, he aquí una mujer viuda que estaba allí cogiendo serojas; y él la llamó, y díjole: Ruégote que me traigas una poca de agua en un vaso, para que beba.
So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
So he arose and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and said, “Please get me a little water in a jar, that I may drink.”
Yendo ella a traérsela, gritó tras de la mujer, diciéndole: Tráeme también, te ruego, un bocado de pan en tu mano.
Y yendo ella para traérsela, él la volvió á llamar, y díjole: Ruégote que me traigas también un bocado de pan en tu mano.
And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
As she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”
Vive el Señor Dios tuyo, respondió ella, que pan yo no lo tengo; no tengo más que un puñado de harina en la orza, y un poco de aceite en la alcuza; he aquí que estoy cogiendo dos palitos de leña para ir a cocerla para mí y para mi hijo, y comérnosla; y después de consumidos estos residuos morirnos de hambre.
Y ella respondió: Vive Jehová Dios tuyo, que no tengo pan cocido; que solamente un puñado de harina tengo en la tinaja, y un poco de aceite en una botija: y ahora cogía dos serojas, para entrarme y aderezarlo para mí y para mi hijo, y que lo comamos, y nos muramos.
And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
She said, “As the LORD your God lives, I don’t have anything baked, but only a handful of meal in a jar and a little oil in a jar. Behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and bake it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”
Le dijo Elías: No temas; anda, ve y haz lo que has dicho; mas primero haz para mí de ese poquito de harina un panecillo, cocido debajo del rescoldo, y tráemelo, que después lo harás para ti y para tu hijo.
Y Elías le dijo: No hayas temor; ve, haz como has dicho: empero hazme á mí primero de ello una pequeña torta cocida debajo de la ceniza, y tráemela; y después harás para ti y para tu hijo.
And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go and do as you have said; but make me a little cake from it first, and bring it out to me, and afterward make some for you and for your son.
Porque esto dice el Señor Dios de Israel: No vendrá a menos la harina de la orza, ni menguará el aceite de la alcuza, hasta el día en que el Señor envíe lluvia sobre la tierra.
Porque Jehová Dios de Israel ha dicho así: La tinaja de la harina no escaseará, ni se disminuirá la botija del aceite, hasta aquel día que Jehová dará lluvia sobre la haz de la tierra.
For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.
For the LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘The jar of meal will not run out, and the jar of oil will not fail, until the day that the LORD sends rain on the earth.’”
Se fue, pues, la mujer e hizo lo que Elías le había dicho; y comió Elías, ella y toda su casa. Desde aquel día
Entonces ella fué, é hizo como le dijo Elías; y comió él, y ella y su casa, muchos días.
And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

no faltó nunca harina en la orza, ni se disminuyó el aceite de la alcuza; según lo que había prometido el Señor por boca de Elías.
Y la tinaja de la harina no escaseó, ni menguó la botija del aceite, conforme á la palabra de Jehová que había dicho por Elías.
And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.
The jar of meal didn’t run out and the jar of oil didn’t fail, according to the LORD’s word, which he spoke by Elijah.
Sucedió después que enfermó el hijo de aquella mujer dueña de la casa, y la enfermedad era mortal, de suerte que quedó sin respiración alguna.
Después de estas cosas aconteció que cayó enfermo el hijo del ama de la casa, y la enfermedad fué tan grave, que no quedó en él resuello.
And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.
After these things, the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, became sick; and his sickness was so severe that there was no breath left in him.
Por lo cual dijo a Elías: ¿Qué te he hecho yo, oh varón de Dios? ¿Has entrado en mi casa para renovar la memoria de mis pecados, y en castigo de ellos hacer morir a mi hijo.
Y ella dijo á Elías: ¿Qué tengo yo contigo, varón de Dios? ¿has venido á mí para traer en memoria mis iniquidades, y para hacerme morir mi hijo?
And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?
She said to Elijah, “What have I to do with you, you man of God? You have come to me to bring my sin to memory, and to kill my son!”
Le respondió Elías: Dame tu hijo. Y tomándole de su regazo, lo llevó al aposento de arriba, donde estaba hospedado, y lo puso sobre su cama.
Y él le dijo: Dame acá tu hijo. Entonces él lo tomó de su regazo, y llevólo á la cámara donde él estaba, y púsole sobre su cama;
And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.
He said to her, “Give me your son.” He took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into the room where he stayed, and laid him on his own bed.
Y clamó al Señor diciendo: ¡Oh Señor Dios mío!, ¿aun a esta viuda, que me sustenta del modo que puede, la has afligido, quitando la vida a su hijo?
Y clamando á Jehová, dijo: Jehová Dios mío, ¿aun á la viuda en cuya casa yo estoy hospedado has afligido, matándole su hijo?
And he cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?
He cried to the LORD and said, “LORD my God, have you also brought evil on the widow with whom I am staying, by killing her son?”
Después de esto se tendió, y se encogió sobre el niño por tres veces, y clamó al Señor diciendo: ¡Señor Dios mío! Te ruego que vuelvas el alma de este niño a sus entrañas.
Y midióse sobre el niño tres veces, y clamó á Jehová, y dijo: Jehová Dios mío, ruégote que vuelva el alma de este niño á sus entrañas.
And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child’s soul come into him again.
He stretched himself on the child three times, and cried to the LORD and said, “LORD my God, please let this child’s soul come into him again.”
Oyó el Señor la súplica de Elías, y volvió el alma del niño a entrar en él y resucitó.
Y Jehová oyó la voz de Elías, y el alma del niño volvió á sus entrañas, y revivió.
And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
The LORD listened to the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
Entonces Elías tomó el niño y lo bajó de su aposento al cuarto bajo de la casa, y se lo entregó a su madre diciéndole: Aquí tienes vivo a tu hijo.
Tomando luego Elías al niño, trájolo de la cámara á la casa, y diólo á su madre, y díjole Elías: Mira, tu hijo vive.
And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.
Elijah took the child and brought him down out of the room into the house, and delivered him to his mother; and Elijah said, “Behold, your son lives.”
Y dijo la mujer a Elías: Ahora acabo de reconocer en esto que tú eres un varón de Dios, y que verdaderamente la palabra de Dios está en tu boca.
Entonces la mujer dijo á Elías: Ahora conozco que tú eres varón de Dios, y que la palabra de Jehová es verdad en tu boca.
And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth.
The woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God, and that the LORD’s word in your mouth is truth.”
