Wherefore Nathan spake unto Bath-sheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Hast thou not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith doth reign, and David our lord knoweth it not?
Then Nathan spoke to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, “Haven’t you heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith reigns, and David our lord doesn’t know it?

Go and get thee in unto king David, and say unto him, Didst not thou, my lord, O king, swear unto thine handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then doth Adonijah reign?
Go in to King David, and tell him, ‘Didn’t you, my lord the king, swear to your servant, saying, “Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne”? Why then does Adonijah reign?’

And she said unto him, My lord, thou swarest by the LORD thy God unto thine handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.
She said to him, “My lord, you swore by the LORD your God to your servant, ‘Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne.’

And he hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon thy servant hath he not called.

Du bist aber mein Herr Konig; die Augen des ganzen Israel sehen auf dich, dad du ihn anzeigest, wer auf dem Stuhl meines Herrn Konigs nach ihm sitzen soil.
Entre tanto, rey señor mío, los ojos de todo Israel están sobre ti, para que les declares quién se ha de sentar en el trono de mi señor el rey después de él.
And thou, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon thee, that thou shouldest tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.

Wenn aber mein Herr Konig mit seinen Vatern entschlafen ist, so werden ich und mein Sohn Saiomo müssen Sunder sein.
De otra suerte acontecerá, cuando mi señor el rey durmiere con sus padres, que yo y mi hijo Salomón seremos tenidos por culpables.
Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted offenders.

And they told the king, saying, Behold Nathan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.

Denn er ist heute hinabgegangen und hat geopfert Ochsen und Mastvieh und viel Schafe und hat alle Sohne des Konigs geladen und die Hauptleute, dazu den Priester Abjathar. Und siehe, sie essen und trinken vor ihm und sagen: Gluck zu dem Konige Adonia!
Porque hoy ha descendido, y ha matado bueyes, y animales engordados, y muchas ovejas, y ha convidado á todos los hijos del rey, y á los capitanes del ejército, y también á Abiathar sacerdote; y he aquí, están comiendo y bebiendo delante de él, y han dicho: ¡Viva el rey Adonía!
For he is gone down this day, and hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the king’s sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah.

But me, even me thy servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and thy servant Solomon, hath he not called.

Is this thing done by my lord the king, and thou hast not shewed it unto thy servant, who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?

Der Konig David antwortete und sprach: Rufet mir Bathseba! Und sie kam hinein vor den Konig. Und da sie vor dem Konige stund,

Then king David answered and said, Call me Bath-sheba. And she came into the king’s presence, and stood before the king.

Even as I sware unto thee by the LORD God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day.

Da neigte sich Bathseba mit ihrem Antlitz zur Erde und betete den Konig an und sprach: Gluck meinem Herrn Konige David ewiglich!
Entonces Bath-sheba se inclinó al rey, su rostro á tierra, y haciendo reverencia al rey, dijo: Viva mi señor el rey David para siempre.
Then Bath-sheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever.

Und der Priester Zadok samt dem Propheten Nathan salbe ihn daselbst zum Konige über Israel. Und blaset mit den Posaunen und sprechet: Gluck dem Konige Saiomo!

Da gingen hinab der Priester Zadok und der Prophet Nathan und Benaja, der Sohn Jojodas, und Krethi und Plethi und setzten Saiomo auf das Maul des Konigs David und fuhreten ihn gen Gihon.

So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David’s mule, and brought him to Gihon.

And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon.

Da er aber noch redete, siehe, da kam Jonathan, der Sohn Abjathars, des Priesters. Und Adonia sprach: Komm herein, denn du bist ein redlicher Mann und bringest gute Botschaft.

And while he yet spake, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came: and Adonijah said unto him, Come in; for thou art a valiant man, and bringest good tidings.

And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Verily our lord king David hath made Solomon king.

Und Zadok, der Priester, samt dem Propheten Nathan hat ihn gesalbet zum Konige zu Gihon, und sind von dannen heraufgezogen mit Freuden, dad die Stadt tummelt. Das ist das Geschrei, das ihr gehoret habt.

Y aun los siervos del rey han venido á bendecir á nuestro señor el rey David, diciendo: Dios haga bueno el nombre de Salomón más que tu nombre, y haga mayor su trono que el tuyo. Y el rey adoró en la cama.

Y fué hecho saber á Salomón, diciendo: He aquí que Adonía tiene miedo del rey Salomón: pues ha cogido los cornijales del altar, diciendo: Júreme hoy el rey Salomón que no matará á cuchillo á su siervo.
And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he hath caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me to day that he will not slay his servant with the sword.
Solomon was told, “Behold, Adonijah fears King Solomon; for, behold, he is hanging onto the horns of the altar, saying, ‘Let King Solomon swear to me first that he will not kill his servant with the sword.’”
Salomo sprach: Wird er redlich sein, soil kein Haar von ihm auf die Erde fallen; wird aber Boses an ihm funden, so soli er sterben.
Y Salomón dijo: Si él fuere virtuoso, ni uno de sus cabellos caerá en tierra: mas si se hallare mal en él, morirá.
And Solomon said, If he will shew himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die.

Und der Konig Salomo sandte hin und lieli ihn herab vom Altar holen. Und da er kam, betete er den Konig Salomo an. Salomo aber sprach zu ihm: Gehe in dein Haus!
