On chercha dans tout le territoire d'Israël une jeune fille qui fût belle, et l'on trouva Abisag, la Sunamite, que l'on amena au roi.

Alors Nathan dit à Bethsabée, mère de Salomon : « N'as-tu pas appris qu'Adonias, fils de Haggith, est devenu roi, sans que notre seigneur David le sache ?
Y habló Nathán á Bath-sheba madre de Salomón, diciendo: ¿No has oído que reina Adonía hijo de Haggith, sin saberlo David nuestro señor?
Wherefore Nathan spake unto Bath-sheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Hast thou not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith doth reign, and David our lord knoweth it not?
Then Nathan spoke to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, “Haven’t you heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith reigns, and David our lord doesn’t know it?
Viens donc maintenant, laisse-moi te donner un conseil, afin que tu sauves ta vie et celle de ton fils Salomon.
Ven pues ahora, y toma mi consejo, para que guardes tu vida, y la vida de tu hijo Salomón.
Now therefore come, let me, I pray thee, give thee counsel, that thou mayest save thine own life, and the life of thy son Solomon.

Va, entre chez le roi David, et dis-lui : O roi, mon seigneur, n'as-tu pas fait serment à ta servante en disant : Salomon, ton fils, régnera après moi, et c'est lui qui s'assiéra sur mon trône ? Pourquoi donc Adonias est-il devenu roi ?
Ve, y entra al rey David, y dile: Rey señor mío, ¿no has tú jurado á tu sierva, diciendo: Salomón tu hijo reinará después de mí, y él se sentará en mi trono? ¿por qué pues reina Adonía?
Go and get thee in unto king David, and say unto him, Didst not thou, my lord, O king, swear unto thine handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then doth Adonijah reign?

And Bath-sheba bowed, and did obeisance unto the king. And the king said, What wouldest thou?

Il a immolé des bœufs, des veaux gras et des brebis en grand nombre ; et il a invité tous les fils du roi, le prêtre Abiathar, et Joab, chef de l'armée, mais il n'a pas invité Salomon, ton serviteur.
Ha matado bueyes, y animales engordados, y muchas ovejas, y ha convidado á todos los hijos del rey, y á Abiathar sacerdote, y á Joab general del ejército; mas á Salomón tu siervo no ha convidado.
And he hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon thy servant hath he not called.

Cependant, ô roi mon seigneur, tout Israël a les yeux sur toi, pour que tu fasses connaître qui doit s'asseoir sur le trône du roi mon seigneur après lui.
Entre tanto, rey señor mío, los ojos de todo Israel están sobre ti, para que les declares quién se ha de sentar en el trono de mi señor el rey después de él.
And thou, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon thee, that thou shouldest tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.

Autrement, lorsque le roi mon seigneur sera couché avec ses pères, il arrivera que nous serons, moi et mon fils Salomon, traités comme des criminels. »
De otra suerte acontecerá, cuando mi señor el rey durmiere con sus padres, que yo y mi hijo Salomón seremos tenidos por culpables.
Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted offenders.
Otherwise it will happen, when my lord the king sleeps with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon will be considered criminals.”
Comme elle parlait encore avec le roi, voici que Nathan, le prophète, arriva.

Y dieron aviso al rey, diciendo: He aquí Nathán profeta: el cual como entró al rey, postróse delante del rey inclinando su rostro á tierra.
And they told the king, saying, Behold Nathan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.

Car il est descendu aujourd'hui, il a immolé des bœufs, des veaux gras et des brebis en quantité, et il a invité tous les fils du roi, les chefs de l'armée et le prêtre Abiathar. Et voici qu'ils mangent et boivent devant lui, et ils disent : Vive le roi Adonias !

For he is gone down this day, and hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the king’s sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah.

Mais il n'a invité ni moi, ton serviteur, ni le prêtre Sadoc, ni Banaïas, fils de Joïadas, ni Salomon, ton serviteur.

Est-ce bien par la volonté de mon seigneur le roi qu'une telle chose a lieu, sans que tu aies fait connaître à tes serviteurs qui doit s'asseoir sur le trône du roi mon seigneur, après lui ? »
¿Es este negocio ordenado por mi señor el rey, sin haber declarado á tu siervo quién se había de sentar en el trono de mi señor el rey después de él?
Is this thing done by my lord the king, and thou hast not shewed it unto thy servant, who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?

Le roi David répondit et dit : « Appelez-moi Bethsabée. » Elle entra devant le roi et se présenta devant le roi.
Entonces el rey David respondió, y dijo: Llamadme á Bath-sheba. Y ella entró á la presencia del rey, y púsose delante del rey.
Then king David answered and said, Call me Bath-sheba. And she came into the king’s presence, and stood before the king.

Et le roi fit ce serment : « Vive Yahweh qui m'a délivré de toutes les adversités !

Que como yo te he jurado por Jehová Dios de Israel, diciendo: Tu hijo Salomón reinará después de mí, y él se sentará en mi trono en lugar mío; que así lo haré hoy.
Even as I sware unto thee by the LORD God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day.

Bethsabée s'inclina le visage contre terre et se prosterna devant le roi ; et elle dit : « Vive à jamais mon seigneur, le roi David ! »
Entonces Bath-sheba se inclinó al rey, su rostro á tierra, y haciendo reverencia al rey, dijo: Viva mi señor el rey David para siempre.
Then Bath-sheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever.

Là, le prêtre Sadoc et Nathan le prophète l'oindront pour roi sur Israël ; et vous sonnerez de la trompette et vous direz : Vive le roi Salomon !
Y allí lo ungirán Sadoc sacerdote y Nathán profeta por rey sobre Israel; y tocaréis trompeta, diciendo: ¡Viva el rey Salomón!

Le prêtre Sadoc descendit avec Nathan le prophète, Banaïas, fils de Joïadas, les Céréthiens et les Phéléthiens, et, ayant fait monter Salomon sur la mule du roi David, ils le menèrent à Gihon.
Y descendió Sadoc sacerdote, y Nathán profeta, y Benaía hijo de Joiada, y los Ceretheos y los Peletheos, é hicieron subir á Salomón en la mula del rey David, y lleváronlo á Gihón.
So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David’s mule, and brought him to Gihon.

And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon.

Il parlait encore, et voici que Jonathas, fils de prêtre Abiathar, arriva. Adonias lui dit : « Viens, car tu es un brave et porteur de bonnes nouvelles. »
Estando aún él hablando, he aquí Jonathán hijo de Abiathar sacerdote vino, al cual dijo Adonía: Entra, porque tú eres hombre de esfuerzo, y traerás buenas nuevas.
And while he yet spake, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came: and Adonijah said unto him, Come in; for thou art a valiant man, and bringest good tidings.

Y el rey ha enviado con él á Sadoc sacerdote y á Nathán profeta, y á Benaía hijo de Joiada, y también á los Ceretheos y á los Peletheos, los cuales le hicieron subir en la mula del rey;

Le prêtre Sadoc et Nathan le prophète l'ont oint pour roi à Gihon ; de là ils sont remontés remontés joyeux, et la ville est en émoi : c'est là le bruit que vous avez entendu.
Y Sadoc sacerdote y Nathán profeta lo han ungido en Gihón por rey: y de allá han subido con alegrías, y la ciudad está llena de estruendo. Este es el alboroto que habéis oído.

Et même les serviteurs du roi sont venus pour bénir notre seigneur le roi David, en disant : Que ton Dieu rende le nom de Salomon plus grand que ton nom, et qu'il élève son trône au-dessus de ton trône ! Et le roi s'est prosterné sur son lit.
Y aun los siervos del rey han venido á bendecir á nuestro señor el rey David, diciendo: Dios haga bueno el nombre de Salomón más que tu nombre, y haga mayor su trono que el tuyo. Y el rey adoró en la cama.
And moreover the king’s servants came to bless our lord king David, saying, God make the name of Solomon better than thy name, and make his throne greater than thy throne. And the king bowed himself upon the bed.

Tous les conviés d'Adonias furent saisis de terreur ; ils se levèrent et s'en allèrent chacun de son côté.
Ellos entonces se estremecieron, y levantáronse todos los convidados que estaban con Adonía, y fuése cada uno por su camino.

Mas Adonía, temiendo de la presencia de Salomón, levantóse y fuése, y cogió los cornijales del altar.
And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.

On l'annonça à Salomon en ces termes : « Voici qu'Adonias a peur du roi Salomon, et voici qu'il a saisi les cornes de l'autel en disant : Que le roi Salomon me jure aujourd'hui qu'il ne fera pas mourir son serviteur par l'épée ! »
Y fué hecho saber á Salomón, diciendo: He aquí que Adonía tiene miedo del rey Salomón: pues ha cogido los cornijales del altar, diciendo: Júreme hoy el rey Salomón que no matará á cuchillo á su siervo.
And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he hath caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me to day that he will not slay his servant with the sword.
Solomon was told, “Behold, Adonijah fears King Solomon; for, behold, he is hanging onto the horns of the altar, saying, ‘Let King Solomon swear to me first that he will not kill his servant with the sword.’”
Salomon dit : « S'il se montre homme brave, il ne tombera pas à terre un de ses cheveux ; mais s'il se trouve du mal en lui, il mourra. »
Y Salomón dijo: Si él fuere virtuoso, ni uno de sus cabellos caerá en tierra: mas si se hallare mal en él, morirá.
And Solomon said, If he will shew himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die.

Et le roi Salomon envoya des gens qui le firent descendre d'auprès de l'autel. Et Adonias vint se prosterner devant le roi Salomon ; et Salomon lui dit : « Va dans ta maison. »
