ENTONCES Ben-adad rey de Siria juntó á todo su ejército, y con él treinta y dos reyes, con caballos y carros: y subió, y puso cerco á Samaria, y combatióla.

Thy silver and thy gold is mine; thy wives also and thy children, even the goodliest, are mine.

Der Konig Israels antwortete und sprach: Mein Herr Konig, wie du geredet hast; ich bin dein und alles, was ich habe.

And the king of Israel answered and said, My lord, O king, according to thy saying, I am thine, and all that I have.

so will ich morgen urn diese Zeit meine Knechte zu dir senden, dafi sie dein Haus und deiner Untertanen Hauser besuchen; und was dir lieblich ist, sollen sie in ihre Hande nehmen und wegtragen.
Además mañana á estas horas enviaré yo á ti mis siervos, los cuales escudriñarán tu casa, y las casas de tus siervos; y tomarán con sus manos, y llevarán todo lo precioso que tuvieres.
Yet I will send my servants unto thee to morrow about this time, and they shall search thine house, and the houses of thy servants; and it shall be, that whatsoever is pleasant in thine eyes, they shall put it in their hand, and take it away.

Da rief der Konig Israels alien Altesten des Landes und sprach: Merket und sehet, wie bose er's vornimmt! Er hat zu mir gesandt urn meine Weiber und Kinder, Silber und Gold, und ich habe ihm des nicht gewehret.
Entonces el rey de Israel llamó á todos los ancianos de la tierra, y díjoles: Entended, y ved ahora cómo éste no busca sino mal: pues que ha enviado á mí por mis mujeres y mis hijos, y por mi plata y por mi oro; y yo no se lo he negado.
Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, Mark, I pray you, and see how this man seeketh mischief: for he sent unto me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for my gold; and I denied him not.

Wherefore he said unto the messengers of Ben-hadad, Tell my lord the king, All that thou didst send for to thy servant at the first I will do: but this thing I may not do. And the messengers departed, and brought him word again.
Therefore he said to the messengers of Ben Hadad, “Tell my lord the king, ‘All that you sent for to your servant at the first I will do, but this thing I cannot do.’” The messengers departed and brought him back the message.
Da sandte Benhadad zu ihm und lieft ihm sagen: Die Gotter tun mir dies und das, wo der Staub Samarias genug sein soil, daß alles Volk unter mir eine Handvoll davon bringe.
Y Ben-adad tornó á enviarle á decir: Así me hagan los dioses, y así me añadan, que el polvo de Samaria no bastará á los puños de todo el pueblo que me sigue.
And Ben-hadad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me.

Aber der Konig Israels antwortete und sprach: Saget: Der den Harnisch anlegt, soil sich nicht rühmen, als der ihn hat abgelegt.
Y el rey de Israel respondió, y dijo: Decidle, que no se alabe el que se ciñe, como el que ya se desciñe.
And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off.

Da das Benhadad horete und ereben trank mit den Konigen in den Gezelten, sprach er zu seinen Knechten: Schicket euch! Und sie schickten sich wider die Stadt.

And it came to pass, when Ben-hadad heard this message, as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions, that he said unto his servants, Set yourselves in array. And they set themselves in array against the city.

Und siehe, ein Prophet trat zu Ahab, dem Konige Israels, und sprach: So spricht der HERR: Du hast je gesehen all diesen grofien Haufen. Siehe, ich will ihn heute in deine Hand geben, daß du wissen sollst, ich sei der HERR.
Y he aquí un profeta se llegó á Achâb rey de Israel, y le dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová: ¿Has visto esta grande multitud? he aquí yo te la entregaré hoy en tu mano, para que conozcas que yo soy Jehová.
And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab king of Israel, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into thine hand this day; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
Behold, a prophet came near to Ahab king of Israel, and said, “The LORD says, ‘Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will deliver it into your hand today. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”
Ahab sprach: Durch wen? Er sprach: So spricht der HERR: Durch die Knaben der Landvogte. Er sprach: Wer soil den Streit anspannen? Er sprach: Du.

Da zahlete er die Knaben der Landvogte, und ihrer waren zweihundert und zweiunddreiftig. Und zahlete nach ihnen das ganze Volk aller Kinder Israel: siebentausend Mann.

E hirió cada uno al que venía contra sí: y huyeron los Siros, siguiéndolos los de Israel. Y el rey de Siria, Ben-adad, se escapó en un caballo con alguna gente de caballería.
And they slew every one his man: and the Syrians fled; and Israel pursued them: and Ben-hadad the king of Syria escaped on an horse with the horsemen.

Da trat ein Prophet zum Konige Israels und sprach zu ihm: Gehe hin und starke dich; und merke und siehe, was du tust! Denn der Konig zu Syrien wird wider dich heraufziehen, wenn das Jahr urn ist.
Llegándose luego el profeta al rey de Israel, le dijo: Ve, fortalécete, y considera y mira lo que has de hacer; porque pasado el año, el rey de Siria ha de venir contra ti.
And the prophet came to the king of Israel, and said unto him, Go, strengthen thyself, and mark, and see what thou doest: for at the return of the year the king of Syria will come up against thee.
The prophet came near to the king of Israel and said to him, “Go, strengthen yourself, and plan what you must do, for at the return of the year, the king of Syria will come up against you.”
Denn die Knechte des Konigs zu Syrien sprachen zu ihm: Ihre Gotter sind Berggotter; darum haben sie uns angewonnen. O daß wir mit ihnen auf der Ebene streiten muftten! Was gilt's, wir wollten ihnen angewinnen?
Y los siervos del rey de Siria le dijeron: Sus dioses son dioses de los montes, por eso nos han vencido; mas si peleáremos con ellos en la llanura, se verá si no los vencemos.
And the servants of the king of Syria said unto him, Their gods are gods of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.

Und sie lagerten sich stracks gegen jene, sieben Tage. Am siebenten Tage zogen sie zuhauf in Streit; und die Kinder Israel schlugen der Syrer hunderttausend Fuftvolks auf einen Tag.
Siete días tuvieron asentado campo los unos delante de los otros, y al séptimo día se dió la batalla: y mataron los hijos de Israel de los Siros en un día cien mil hombres de á pie.
And they pitched one over against the other seven days. And so it was, that in the seventh day the battle was joined: and the children of Israel slew of the Syrians an hundred thousand footmen in one day.

Da sprachen seine Knechte zu ihm: Siehe, wir haben gehoret, daß die Konige des Hauses Israel barmherzige Konige sind; so laftt uns Sacke urn unsere Lenden tun und Stricke urn unsere Haupter und zum Konige Israels hinausgehen; vielleicht laftt er deine Seele leben.
Entonces sus siervos le dijeron: He aquí, hemos oído de los reyes de la casa de Israel que son reyes clementes: pongamos pues ahora sacos en nuestros lomos, y sogas en nuestras cabezas, y salgamos al rey de Israel: por ventura te salvará la vida.
And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life.
His servants said to him, “See now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings. Please let us put sackcloth on our bodies and ropes on our heads, and go out to the king of Israel. Maybe he will save your life.”
Und sie gurteten Sacke urn ihre Lenden und Stricke um ihre Haupter und kamen zum Konige Israels und sprachen: Benhadad, dein Knecht, laftt dir sagen: Lieber, laft meine Seele leben! Erabersprach: Lebt er noch, so ist er mein Bruder.
Ciñeron pues sus lomos de sacos, y sogas á sus cabezas, y vinieron al rey de Israel, y dijéronle: Tu siervo Ben-adad dice: Ruégote que viva mi alma. Y él respondió: Si él vive aún, mi hermano es.
So they girded sackcloth on their loins, and put ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, Thy servant Ben-hadad saith, I pray thee, let me live. And he said, Is he yet alive? he is my brother.
So they put sackcloth on their bodies and ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, “Your servant Ben Hadad says, ‘Please let me live.’” He said, “Is he still alive? He is my brother.”
Und die Manner nahmen eilend das Wort von ihm und deuteten es fur sich und sprachen: Ja, dein Bruder Benhadad. Er sprach: Kommt und bringet ihn! Da ging Benhadad zu ihm heraus. Und lieft ihn auf den Wagen sitzen
Esto tomaron aquellos hombres por buen agüero, y presto tomaron esta palabra de su boca, y dijeron: ¡Tu hermano Ben-adad! Y él dijo: Id, y traedle. Ben-adad entonces se presentó á Achâb, y él le hizo subir en un carro.
Now the men did diligently observe whether any thing would come from him, and did hastily catch it: and they said, Thy brother Ben-hadad. Then he said, Go ye, bring him. Then Ben-hadad came forth to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.
Now the men observed diligently and hurried to take this phrase; and they said, “Your brother Ben Hadad.” Then he said, “Go, bring him.” Then Ben Hadad came out to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.
und sprach zu ihm: Die Stadte, die mein Vater deinem Vater genommen hat, will ich dirwiedergeben; und mache dir Gassen zu Damaskus, wie mein Vater zu Samaria getan hat, so will ich miteinem Bunde dich lassen. Und er machte mit ihm einen Bund und liefi ihn ziehen.
Y díjole Ben-adad: Las ciudades que mi padre tomó al tuyo, yo las restituiré; y haz plazas en Damasco para ti, como mi padre las hizo en Samaria. Y yo, dijo Achâb, te dejaré partir con esta alianza. Hizo pues con él alianza, y dejóle ir.
And Ben-hadad said unto him, The cities, which my father took from thy father, I will restore; and thou shalt make streets for thee in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria. Then said Ahab, I will send thee away with this covenant. So he made a covenant with him, and sent him away.
Ben Hadad said to him, “The cities which my father took from your father I will restore. You shall make streets for yourself in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria.” “I”, said Ahab, “will let you go with this covenant.” So he made a covenant with him and let him go.
Da sprach ein Mann unter den Kindern der Propheten zu seinem Nachsten durch das Wort des HERRN: Lieber, schlage mich! Er aber weigerte sich, ihn zu schlagen.
Entonces un varón de los hijos de los profetas dijo á su compañero por palabra de Dios: Hiéreme ahora. Mas el otro varón no quiso herirle.
And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour in the word of the LORD, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man refused to smite him.

Da sprach er zu ihm: Darum, daß du der Stimme des HERRN nicht hast gehorchet, siehe, so wird dich ein Lowe schlagen, wenn du von mir gehest. Und da er von ihm abging, fand ihn ein Lowe und schlug ihn.

Then said he unto him, Because thou hast not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as soon as thou art departed from me, a lion shall slay thee. And as soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and slew him.
Then he said to him, “Because you have not obeyed the LORD’s voice, behold, as soon as you have departed from me, a lion will kill you.” As soon as he had departed from him, a lion found him and killed him.
Und erfand einen andern Mann und sprach: Lieber, schlage mich! Und der Mann schlug ihn wund.
Encontróse luego con otro hombre, y díjole: Hiéreme ahora. Y el hombre le dió un golpe, é hízole una herida.
Then he found another man, and said, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man smote him, so that in smiting he wounded him.
Then he found another man, and said, “Please strike me.” The man struck him and wounded him.
Da ging der Prophet hin und trat zum Konige an den Weg und verstellete sein Angesicht mit Asche.

Und da der Konig voruberzog, schrie er den Konig an und sprach: Dein Knecht war ausgezogen mitten im Streit. Und siehe, ein Mann war gewichen und brachte einen Mann zu mir und sprach: Verwahre diesen Mann; wo man sein wird missen, so soil deine Seele anstatt seiner Seele sein, Oder sollst einen Zentner Silbers darwagen.
Y como el rey pasaba, él dió voces al rey, y dijo: Tu siervo salió entre la tropa: y he aquí apartándose uno, trájome un hombre, diciendo: Guarda á este hombre, y si llegare á faltar, tu vida será por la suya, ó pagarás un talento de plata.
And as the king passed by, he cried unto the king: and he said, Thy servant went out into the midst of the battle; and, behold, a man turned aside, and brought a man unto me, and said, Keep this man: if by any means he be missing, then shall thy life be for his life, or else thou shalt pay a talent of silver.
As the king passed by, he cried to the king, and he said, “Your servant went out into the middle of the battle; and behold, a man came over and brought a man to me, and said, ‘Guard this man! If by any means he is missing, then your life shall be for his life, or else you shall pay a talent of silver.’
Und da dein Knecht hie und da zu tun hatte, war der nicht mehr da. Der Konig Israels sprach zu ihm: Das ist dein Urteil, du hast es selbst gefallet.
Y como tu siervo estaba ocupado á una parte y á otra, él desapareció. Entonces el rey de Israel le dijo: Esa será tu sentencia: tú la has pronunciado.
And as thy servant was busy here and there, he was gone. And the king of Israel said unto him, So shall thy judgment be; thyself hast decided it.

Da tat er eilend die Asche von seinem Angesicht; und der Konig Israels kannte ihn, daß er der Propheten einer war.

And he hasted, and took the ashes away from his face; and the king of Israel discerned him that he was of the prophets.
He hurried, and took the headband away from his eyes; and the king of Israel recognized that he was one of the prophets.
Und er sprach zu ihm: So spricht der HERR: Darum, dafi du hast den verbannten Mann von dir gelassen, wird deine Seele fur seine Seele sein und dein Volk fur sein Volk.
Y él le dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová: Por cuanto soltaste de la mano el hombre de mi anatema, tu vida será por la suya, y tu pueblo por el suyo.
And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Because thou hast let go out of thy hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore thy life shall go for his life, and thy people for his people.
He said to him, “The LORD says, ‘Because you have let go out of your hand the man whom I had devoted to destruction, therefore your life will take the place of his life, and your people take the place of his people.’”
