Und Ben-Hadad, König von Aram zog zusammen all seine Streitmacht, und zweiunddreißig Könige waren mit ihm, und Pferde und Streitwagen; und er zog hinauf, und belagerte Samaria und stritt wider dasselbe;

ENTONCES Ben-adad rey de Siria juntó á todo su ejército, y con él treinta y dos reyes, con caballos y carros: y subió, y puso cerco á Samaria, y combatióla.

And Ben-hadad the king of Syria gathered all his host together: and there were thirty and two kings with him, and horses, and chariots: and he went up and besieged Samaria, and warred against it.

Und sandte Boten an Achab, König von Israel, nach der Stadt,

And he sent messengers to Ahab king of Israel into the city, and said unto him, Thus saith Ben-hadad,

Und ließ ihm sagen: So spricht Ben-Hadad: Dein Silber und dein Gold ist mein, und deine Weiber und deine Söhne, die guten, sie sind mein.

Así ha dicho Ben-adad: Tu plata y tu oro es mío, y tus mujeres y tus hijos hermosos son míos.

Thy silver and thy gold is mine; thy wives also and thy children, even the goodliest, are mine.

‘Your silver and your gold are mine. Your wives also and your children, even the best, are mine.’”

Und es antwortete der König von Israel und sprach: Nach deinem Worte, mein Herr König; dein bin ich und alles, was mein ist.

Y el rey de Israel respondió, y dijo: Como tú dices, rey señor mío, yo soy tuyo, y todo lo que tengo.

And the king of Israel answered and said, My lord, O king, according to thy saying, I am thine, and all that I have.

Und es kamen die Boten zurück und sagten: Also spricht Ben-Hadad und sagt: Habe ich an dich gesandt und sagen lassen, du sollst dein Silber und dein Gold, deine Weiber und deine Söhne mir geben?

Y volviendo los mensajeros otra vez, dijeron: Así dijo Ben-adad: Yo te envié á decir: Tu plata y tu oro, y tus mujeres y tus hijos me darás.

And the messengers came again, and said, Thus speaketh Ben-hadad, saying, Although I have sent unto thee, saying, Thou shalt deliver me thy silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy children;

The messengers came again and said, “Ben Hadad says, ‘I sent indeed to you, saying, “You shall deliver me your silver, your gold, your wives, and your children;

Fürwahr, um diese Zeit morgen werde ich meine Knechte zu dir senden, daß sei dein Haus und deiner Knechte Häuser durchsuchen, und all deiner Augen Begehr sollen sie in ihre Hand legen und nehmen.

Además mañana á estas horas enviaré yo á ti mis siervos, los cuales escudriñarán tu casa, y las casas de tus siervos; y tomarán con sus manos, y llevarán todo lo precioso que tuvieres.

Yet I will send my servants unto thee to morrow about this time, and they shall search thine house, and the houses of thy servants; and it shall be, that whatsoever is pleasant in thine eyes, they shall put it in their hand, and take it away.

but I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, and they will search your house and the houses of your servants. Whatever is pleasant in your eyes, they will put it in their hand, and take it away.”’”

Und der König von Israel rief alle Ältesten des Landes und sprach: Wisset doch und sehet, daß er nach Bösem trachtet, denn er sandte an mich wegen meiner Weiber und meiner Söhne und meines Silbers und meines Goldes; und ich wollte sie ihm nicht vorenthalten.

Entonces el rey de Israel llamó á todos los ancianos de la tierra, y díjoles: Entended, y ved ahora cómo éste no busca sino mal: pues que ha enviado á mí por mis mujeres y mis hijos, y por mi plata y por mi oro; y yo no se lo he negado.

Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, Mark, I pray you, and see how this man seeketh mischief: for he sent unto me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for my gold; and I denied him not.

Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, “Please notice how this man seeks mischief; for he sent to me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for my gold; and I didn’t deny him.”

Und es sprachen zu ihm alle Ältesten und alles Volk: Höre nicht auf ihn und sei nicht willens.

Y todos los ancianos y todo el pueblo le respondieron: No le obedezcas, ni hagas lo que te pide.

And all the elders and all the people said unto him, Hearken not unto him, nor consent.

All the elders and all the people said to him, “Don’t listen, and don’t consent.”

Und er sprach zu den Boten Ben-Hadads: Saget meinem Herrn, dem Könige: Alles, wofür du an deinen Knecht zuerst gesandt hast, will ich tun, aber dies vermag ich nicht zu tun; und die Boten gingen hin und brachten das Wort zurück.

Entonces él respondió á los embajadores de Ben-adad: Decid al rey mi señor: Haré todo lo que mandaste á tu siervo al principio; mas esto no lo puedo hacer. Y los embajadores fueron, y diéronle la respuesta.

Wherefore he said unto the messengers of Ben-hadad, Tell my lord the king, All that thou didst send for to thy servant at the first I will do: but this thing I may not do. And the messengers departed, and brought him word again.

Therefore he said to the messengers of Ben Hadad, “Tell my lord the king, ‘All that you sent for to your servant at the first I will do, but this thing I cannot do.’” The messengers departed and brought him back the message.

Und Ben-Hadad sandte zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: So sollen mir die Götter tun und so fortfahren, wenn der Staub Samarias ausreichen soll für die hohle Hand alles Volkes, das mir zu Fuße folgt.

Y Ben-adad tornó á enviarle á decir: Así me hagan los dioses, y así me añadan, que el polvo de Samaria no bastará á los puños de todo el pueblo que me sigue.

And Ben-hadad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me.

Ben Hadad sent to him, and said, “The gods do so to me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria will be enough for handfuls for all the people who follow me.”

Und der König von Israel antwortete und sprach: Redet zu ihm: Es rühme sich nicht, der sich gürtet, wie der, so sich abgürtet!

Y el rey de Israel respondió, y dijo: Decidle, que no se alabe el que se ciñe, como el que ya se desciñe.

And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off.

The king of Israel answered, “Tell him, ‘Don’t let him who puts on his armor brag like he who takes it off.’”

Und es geschah, als er dieses Wort hörte, da trank er und die Könige in den Hütten, und er sprach zu seinen Knechten: Stellet euch auf, und sie stellten sich auf wider die Stadt.

Y como él oyó esta palabra, estando bebiendo con los reyes en las tiendas, dijo á sus siervos: Poned. Y ellos pusieron contra la ciudad.

And it came to pass, when Ben-hadad heard this message, as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions, that he said unto his servants, Set yourselves in array. And they set themselves in array against the city.

Und siehe, da trat ein Prophet herzu zu Achab, dem König Israels, und sprach: So spricht Jehovah: Hast du all diese große Menge gesehen? Siehe, Ich gebe sie heute in deine Hand, auf daß du wissest, daß Ich Jehovah bin.

Y he aquí un profeta se llegó á Achâb rey de Israel, y le dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová: ¿Has visto esta grande multitud? he aquí yo te la entregaré hoy en tu mano, para que conozcas que yo soy Jehová.

And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab king of Israel, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into thine hand this day; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

Behold, a prophet came near to Ahab king of Israel, and said, “The LORD says, ‘Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will deliver it into your hand today. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”

Und Achab sprach: Durch wen? Und Er sprach: So spricht Jehovah: Durch die Jungen der Obersten der Landschaften. Und er sprach: Wer soll den Streit anbinden? Und Er sprach: Du!

Y respondió Achâb: ¿Por mano de quién? Y él dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová: Por mano de los criados de los príncipes de las provincias. Y dijo Achâb: ¿Quién comenzará la batalla? Y él respondió: Tú.

And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Even by the young men of the princes of the provinces. Then he said, Who shall order the battle? And he answered, Thou.

Ahab said, “By whom?” He said, “The LORD says, ‘By the young men of the princes of the provinces.’” Then he said, “Who shall begin the battle?” He answered, “You.”

Und er musterte die Jungen der Obersten der Landschaften und es waren zweihundertzweiunddreißig. Und nach ihnen musterte er alles Volk, alle Söhne Israels, siebentausend.

Entonces él reconoció los criados de los príncipes de las provincias, los cuales fueron doscientos treinta y dos. Luego reconoció todo el pueblo, todos los hijos de Israel, que fueron siete mil.

Then he numbered the young men of the princes of the provinces, and they were two hundred and thirty two: and after them he numbered all the people, even all the children of Israel, being seven thousand.

Und die Jungen der Obersten der Landschaften zogen zuerst aus, da sandte Ben-Hadad hin, und sie sagten ihm an und sprachen: Männer ziehen aus Samaria aus.

Y los criados de los príncipes de las provincias salieron los primeros. Y había Ben-adad enviado quien le dió aviso, diciendo: Han salido hombres de Samaria.

And the young men of the princes of the provinces went out first; and Ben-hadad sent out, and they told him, saying, There are men come out of Samaria.

Und er sprach: Ziehen sie im Frieden heraus, so fasset sie lebendig. Und sind sie zum Streit ausgezogen, so fasset sie lebendig.

El entonces dijo: Si han salido por paz, tomadlos vivos; y si han salido para pelear, tomadlos vivos.

And he said, Whether they be come out for peace, take them alive; or whether they be come out for war, take them alive.

He said, “If they have come out for peace, take them alive; or if they have come out for war, take them alive.”

Und diese zogen aus von der Stadt, die Jungen der Obersten der Landschaften, und die Streitmacht, die hinter ihnen war.

Und sie schlugen, jeder Mann seinen Mann, und Aram floh, und Israel setzte ihnen nach, und Ben-Hadad, der König Arams, entrann zu Pferd, und die Reiter.

E hirió cada uno al que venía contra sí: y huyeron los Siros, siguiéndolos los de Israel. Y el rey de Siria, Ben-adad, se escapó en un caballo con alguna gente de caballería.

And they slew every one his man: and the Syrians fled; and Israel pursued them: and Ben-hadad the king of Syria escaped on an horse with the horsemen.

Und der König von Israel zog aus und schlug Pferd und Streitwagen, und schlug Aram in einer großen Schlacht.

Y salió el rey de Israel, é hirió la gente de á caballo, y los carros; y deshizo los Siros con grande estrago.

And the king of Israel went out, and smote the horses and chariots, and slew the Syrians with a great slaughter.

Und der Prophet trat zum König von Israel herzu und sprach zu ihm: Gehe, stärke dich und wisse und siehe, was du tust. Denn bei der Rückkehr des Jahres zieht der König von Aram wider dich herauf.

Llegándose luego el profeta al rey de Israel, le dijo: Ve, fortalécete, y considera y mira lo que has de hacer; porque pasado el año, el rey de Siria ha de venir contra ti.

And the prophet came to the king of Israel, and said unto him, Go, strengthen thyself, and mark, and see what thou doest: for at the return of the year the king of Syria will come up against thee.

The prophet came near to the king of Israel and said to him, “Go, strengthen yourself, and plan what you must do, for at the return of the year, the king of Syria will come up against you.”

Und die Knechte des Königs von Aram sagten ihm: Götter der Berge sind ihre Götter, darum waren sie zu stark für uns. Vielleicht aber, wenn wir mit ihnen in der Ebene streiten, werden wir stärker sein als sie.

Y los siervos del rey de Siria le dijeron: Sus dioses son dioses de los montes, por eso nos han vencido; mas si peleáremos con ellos en la llanura, se verá si no los vencemos.

And the servants of the king of Syria said unto him, Their gods are gods of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.

Tue aber so: Nimm die Könige weg, jeden Mann von seinem Orte und setze Statthalter an ihrer Stelle;

Und berechne dir eine Streitmacht wie die Streitmacht, die von dir gefallen ist, Pferd um Pferd und Streitwagen um Streitwagen, auf daß wir wider sie streiten in der Ebene, ob wir da nicht stärker sind als sie. Und er hörte auf ihre Stimme und tat also.

Y tú, fórmate otro ejército como el ejército que perdiste, caballos por caballos, y carros por carros; luego pelearemos con ellos en campo raso, y veremos si no los vencemos. Y él les dió oído, é hízolo así.

And number thee an army, like the army that thou hast lost, horse for horse, and chariot for chariot: and we will fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they. And he hearkened unto their voice, and did so.

Muster an army like the army that you have lost, horse for horse and chariot for chariot. We will fight against them in the plain, and surely we will be stronger than they are.” He listened to their voice and did so.

Und es geschah bei der Rückkehr des Jahres, da musterte Ben-Hadad Aram und zog hinauf nach Aphek zum Streite wider Israel.

And it came to pass at the return of the year, that Ben-hadad numbered the Syrians, and went up to Aphek, to fight against Israel.

Und die Söhne Israels ließen sich mustern und versorgten sich, und zogen ihnen entgegen. Und die Söhne Israels lagerten ihnen gegenüber, wie zwei Herdlein von Ziegen, und Aram füllte das Land.

And the children of Israel were numbered, and were all present, and went against them: and the children of Israel pitched before them like two little flocks of kids; but the Syrians filled the country.

Und es trat ein Mann Gottes herzu und sprach zu dem König von Israel und sagte: So spricht Jehovah: Weil Aram sprach: Ein Gott der Berge ist Jehovah, und kein Gott der Talgründe, so habe Ich all diese große Menge in deine Hand gegeben, auf daß ihr wisset, daß Ich Jehovah bin.

And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

A man of God came near and spoke to the king of Israel, and said, “The LORD says, ‘Because the Syrians have said, “The LORD is a god of the hills, but he is not a god of the valleys,” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the LORD.’”

Und sieben Tage lagerten diese jenen stracks gegenüber; und es geschah am siebenten Tage, daß der Streit nahte, und die Söhne Israels schlugen von Aram hunderttausend Fußvolk an einem Tag.

Siete días tuvieron asentado campo los unos delante de los otros, y al séptimo día se dió la batalla: y mataron los hijos de Israel de los Siros en un día cien mil hombres de á pie.

And they pitched one over against the other seven days. And so it was, that in the seventh day the battle was joined: and the children of Israel slew of the Syrians an hundred thousand footmen in one day.

They encamped opposite each other for seven days. Then on the seventh day the battle was joined; and the children of Israel killed one hundred thousand footmen of the Syrians in one day.

Und die Übriggebliebenen flohen nach Aphek in die Stadt. Und es fiel die Stadtmauer auf siebenundzwanzigtausend Mann, die übriggeblieben waren, und Ben-Hadad floh und kam in die Stadt von Kammer zu Kammer.

Los demás huyeron á Aphec, á la ciudad: y el muro cayó sobre veinte y siete mil hombres que habían quedado. También Ben-adad vino huyendo á la ciudad, y escondíase de cámara en cámara.

But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; and there a wall fell upon twenty and seven thousand of the men that were left. And Ben-hadad fled, and came into the city, into an inner chamber.

Und seine Knechte sprachen zu ihm: Siehe doch, wir haben gehört, daß die Könige vom Hause Israel barmherzige Könige sind; so laß uns denn Säcke um unsere Lenden legen und Stricke um unsere Häupter und hinausgehen zum König von Israel; vielleicht läßt er deine Seele am Leben.

And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life.

His servants said to him, “See now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings. Please let us put sackcloth on our bodies and ropes on our heads, and go out to the king of Israel. Maybe he will save your life.”

Und sie gürteten Säcke um ihre Lenden und Stricke um ihre Häupter, und kamen zum König von Israel und sprachen: Dein Knecht Ben-Hadad spricht: Laß meine Seele am Leben! Und er sprach: Lebt er noch? Er ist mein Bruder.

Ciñeron pues sus lomos de sacos, y sogas á sus cabezas, y vinieron al rey de Israel, y dijéronle: Tu siervo Ben-adad dice: Ruégote que viva mi alma. Y él respondió: Si él vive aún, mi hermano es.

So they girded sackcloth on their loins, and put ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, Thy servant Ben-hadad saith, I pray thee, let me live. And he said, Is he yet alive? he is my brother.

So they put sackcloth on their bodies and ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, “Your servant Ben Hadad says, ‘Please let me live.’” He said, “Is he still alive? He is my brother.”

Die Männer aber deuteten es, und eilten und faßten es auf, ob es von ihm sei, und sprachen: Dein Bruder ist Ben-Hadad? Und er sprach: Gehet hinein, holet ihn! Und Ben-Hadad kam zu ihm heraus, und er ließ ihn in den Streitwagen heraufsteigen.

Esto tomaron aquellos hombres por buen agüero, y presto tomaron esta palabra de su boca, y dijeron: ¡Tu hermano Ben-adad! Y él dijo: Id, y traedle. Ben-adad entonces se presentó á Achâb, y él le hizo subir en un carro.

Now the men did diligently observe whether any thing would come from him, and did hastily catch it: and they said, Thy brother Ben-hadad. Then he said, Go ye, bring him. Then Ben-hadad came forth to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.

Now the men observed diligently and hurried to take this phrase; and they said, “Your brother Ben Hadad.” Then he said, “Go, bring him.” Then Ben Hadad came out to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.

Und er sprach zu ihm: Die Städte, die mein Vater von deinem Vater genommen hat, will ich zurückgeben und lege dir Gassen in Damaskus an, wie mein Vater in Samaria getan. Und ich will dich auf diesen Bund entlassen. Und er schloß einen Bund mit ihm, und ließ ihn.

Y díjole Ben-adad: Las ciudades que mi padre tomó al tuyo, yo las restituiré; y haz plazas en Damasco para ti, como mi padre las hizo en Samaria. Y yo, dijo Achâb, te dejaré partir con esta alianza. Hizo pues con él alianza, y dejóle ir.

And Ben-hadad said unto him, The cities, which my father took from thy father, I will restore; and thou shalt make streets for thee in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria. Then said Ahab, I will send thee away with this covenant. So he made a covenant with him, and sent him away.

Ben Hadad said to him, “The cities which my father took from your father I will restore. You shall make streets for yourself in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria.” “I”, said Ahab, “will let you go with this covenant.” So he made a covenant with him and let him go.

Und ein Mann von den Söhnen der Propheten sprach zu seinem Genossen durch das Wort Jehovahs: Schlage mich doch! Der Mann aber weigerte sich, ihn zu schlagen.

Entonces un varón de los hijos de los profetas dijo á su compañero por palabra de Dios: Hiéreme ahora. Mas el otro varón no quiso herirle.

And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour in the word of the LORD, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man refused to smite him.

A certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his fellow by the LORD’s word, “Please strike me!” The man refused to strike him.

Und er sprach zu ihm: Weil du nicht auf die Stimme Jehovahs gehört hast, siehe, so gehst du hin von mir und der Löwe wird dich schlagen. Und er ging von ihm weg, und der Löwe fand ihn und schlug ihn.

Y él le dijo: Por cuanto no has obedecido á la palabra de Jehová, he aquí en apartándote de mí, te herirá un león. Y como se apartó de él, topóle un león, é hirióle.

Then said he unto him, Because thou hast not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as soon as thou art departed from me, a lion shall slay thee. And as soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and slew him.

Then he said to him, “Because you have not obeyed the LORD’s voice, behold, as soon as you have departed from me, a lion will kill you.” As soon as he had departed from him, a lion found him and killed him.

Und er fand einen anderen Mann und sprach: Schlage mich doch! Und es schlug ihn der Mann, erschlug und verwundete ihn.

Encontróse luego con otro hombre, y díjole: Hiéreme ahora. Y el hombre le dió un golpe, é hízole una herida.

Then he found another man, and said, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man smote him, so that in smiting he wounded him.

Then he found another man, and said, “Please strike me.” The man struck him and wounded him.

Y como el rey pasaba, él dió voces al rey, y dijo: Tu siervo salió entre la tropa: y he aquí apartándose uno, trájome un hombre, diciendo: Guarda á este hombre, y si llegare á faltar, tu vida será por la suya, ó pagarás un talento de plata.

And as the king passed by, he cried unto the king: and he said, Thy servant went out into the midst of the battle; and, behold, a man turned aside, and brought a man unto me, and said, Keep this man: if by any means he be missing, then shall thy life be for his life, or else thou shalt pay a talent of silver.

Und es geschah, während dein Knecht hin und her zu tun hatte, siehe, da war er nicht mehr da. Und der König von Israel sprach zu ihm: So ist dein Gericht, du hast es selbst entschieden.

And as thy servant was busy here and there, he was gone. And the king of Israel said unto him, So shall thy judgment be; thyself hast decided it.

Und er nahm eilig die Asche von seinen Augen weg, und der König Israels erkannte ihn, daß er einer von den Propheten war.

And he hasted, and took the ashes away from his face; and the king of Israel discerned him that he was of the prophets.

He hurried, and took the headband away from his eyes; and the king of Israel recognized that he was one of the prophets.

Und er sprach zu ihm: So spricht Jehovah: Weil du den von Mir verbannten Mann aus der Hand entlassen, so wird deine Seele statt seiner Seele und dein Volk statt seinem Volke sein.

And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Because thou hast let go out of thy hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore thy life shall go for his life, and thy people for his people.

He said to him, “The LORD says, ‘Because you have let go out of your hand the man whom I had devoted to destruction, therefore your life will take the place of his life, and your people take the place of his people.’”

Und der König von Israel ging nach Haus mißmutig und verdrossen, und er kam nach Samaria.
