Als es nun mit Davids Leben zu Ende ging, gab er seinem Sohne Salomo folgende Weisungen:

Y LLEGÁRONSE los días de David para morir, y mandó á Salomón su hijo, diciendo:

Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,

Now the days of David came near that he should die; and he commanded Solomon his son, saying,

»Ich gehe jetzt den Weg alles Irdischen; so sei denn stark und zeige dich als Mann!

Yo voy el camino de toda la tierra: esfuérzate, y sé varón.

I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man;

“I am going the way of all the earth. You be strong therefore, and show yourself a man;

Beobachte alles, was der HERR, dein Gott, von dir fordert, indem du auf seinen Wegen wandelst, seine Satzungen und Gebote, seine Rechte und Verordnungen so hältst, wie im Gesetz Moses geschrieben steht; dann wirst du Glück haben in allem, was du unternimmst, und überall, wohin du dich wendest;

Guarda la ordenanza de Jehová tu Dios, andando en sus caminos, y observando sus estatutos y mandamientos, y sus derechos y sus testimonios, de la manera que está escrito en la ley de Moisés, para que seas dichoso en todo lo que hicieres, y en todo aquello á que te tornares;

And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:

and keep the instruction of the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn yourself.

dann wird auch der HERR seine Verheißung in Erfüllung gehen lassen, die er mir gegeben hat mit den Worten: ›Wenn deine Söhne auf ihren Weg achthaben, so daß sie in Treue vor mir wandeln mit ihrem ganzen Herzen und mit ihrer ganzen Seele, so soll es dir nie an einem Manne auf dem Thron Israels fehlen.‹

Para que confirme Jehová la palabra que me habló, diciendo: Si tus hijos guardaren su camino, andando delante de mí con verdad, de todo su corazón, y de toda su alma, jamás, dice, faltará á ti varón del trono de Israel.

That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

Then the LORD may establish his word which he spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your children are careful of their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail you,’ he said, ‘a man on the throne of Israel.’

Nun weißt du selbst ja auch, wie Joab, der Sohn der Zeruja, gegen mich gehandelt hat, wie er sich nämlich gegen die beiden obersten Heerführer Israels, gegen Abner, den Sohn Ners, und gegen Amasa, den Sohn Jethers, benommen hat, indem er sie ermordete und für das im Kriege vergossene Blut mitten im Frieden Rache nahm und unschuldiges Blut an den Gürtel um seine Hüften und an die Schuhe an seinen Füßen gebracht hat.

Y ya sabes tú lo que me ha hecho Joab hijo de Sarvia, lo que hizo á dos generales del ejército de Israel, á Abner hijo de Ner, y á Amasa hijo de Jether, los cuales él mató, derramando en paz la sangre de guerra, y poniendo la sangre de guerra en su talabarte que tenía sobre sus lomos, y en sus zapatos que tenía en sus pies.

Moreover thou knowest also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner, and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.

“Moreover you know also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, even what he did to the two captains of the armies of Israel, to Abner the son of Ner and to Amasa the son of Jether, whom he killed, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war on his sash that was around his waist and in his sandals that were on his feet.

So handle nun nach deiner Weisheit und laß sein graues Haar nicht in Frieden in das Totenreich hinabfahren!

Tú pues harás conforme á tu sabiduría; no dejarás descender sus canas á la huesa en paz.

Do therefore according to thy wisdom, and let not his hoar head go down to the grave in peace.

Do therefore according to your wisdom, and don’t let his gray head go down to Sheol in peace.

Dagegen sollst du den Söhnen des Gileaditers Barsillai Liebe erweisen: sie sollen zu denen gehören, die an deinem Tisch speisen; das haben sie durch ihr Entgegenkommen verdient, als ich vor deinem Bruder Absalom fliehen mußte.

Mas á los hijos de Barzillai Galaadita harás misericordia, que sean de los convidados á tu mesa; porque ellos vinieron así á mí, cuando iba huyendo de Absalom tu hermano.

But shew kindness unto the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be of those that eat at thy table: for so they came to me when I fled because of Absalom thy brother.

But show kindness to the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be among those who eat at your table; for so they came to me when I fled from Absalom your brother.

Ferner befindet sich in deiner Nähe der Benjaminit Simei, der Sohn Geras, aus Bahurim; der hat die frechsten Flüche gegen mich ausgestoßen an dem Tage, als ich mich nach Mahanaim begab. Aber er ist mir dann an den Jordan entgegengekommen, und ich habe ihm mit einem Schwur beim HERRN zugesagt: ›Ich will dich nicht hinrichten lassen.‹

También tienes contigo á Semei hijo de Gera, hijo de Benjamín, de Bahurim, el cual me maldijo con una maldición fuerte el día que yo iba á Mahanaim. Mas él mismo descendió á recibirme al Jordán, y yo le juré por Jehová, diciendo: Yo no te mataré á cuchillo.

And, behold, thou hast with thee Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Bahurim, which cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but he came down to meet me at Jordan, and I sware to him by the LORD, saying, I will not put thee to death with the sword.

“Behold, there is with you Shimei the son of Gera, the Benjamite of Bahurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim; but he came down to meet me at the Jordan, and I swore to him by the LORD, saying, ‘I will not put you to death with the sword.’

Nunmehr aber laß du ihn nicht ungestraft! Du bist ja ein kluger Mann und wirst schon wissen, wie du mit ihm zu verfahren hast, um sein graues Haar blutbefleckt in das Totenreich hinabfahren zu lassen.«

Empero ahora no lo absolverás: que hombre sabio eres, y sabes cómo te has de haber con él: y harás descender sus canas con sangre á la sepultura.

Now therefore hold him not guiltless: for thou art a wise man, and knowest what thou oughtest to do unto him; but his hoar head bring thou down to the grave with blood.

Now therefore don’t hold him guiltless, for you are a wise man; and you will know what you ought to do to him, and you shall bring his gray head down to Sheol with blood.”

Hierauf legte sich David zu seinen Vätern und wurde (zu Jerusalem) in der Davidsstadt begraben.

Die Zeit aber, die David über Israel regiert hat, betrug vierzig Jahre: sieben Jahre hat er in Hebron und dreiunddreißig Jahre in Jerusalem regiert.

Los días que reinó David sobre Israel fueron cuarenta años: siete años reinó en Hebrón, y treinta y tres años reinó en Jerusalem.

And the days that David reigned over Israel were forty years: seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.

Nunmehr saß Salomo auf dem Thron seines Vaters David, und sein Königtum erstarkte zu außerordentlicher Macht.

Y se sentó Salomón en el trono de David su padre, y fué su reino firme en gran manera.

Then sat Solomon upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly.

Solomon sat on David his father’s throne; and his kingdom was firmly established.

Adonia aber, der Sohn der Haggith, begab sich zu Bathseba, der Mutter Salomos. Als diese ihn fragte: »Bedeutet dein Kommen Gutes?«, antwortete er: »Ja, etwas Gutes.«

Entonces Adonía hijo de Haggith vino á Bath-sheba madre de Salomón; y ella dijo: ¿Es tu venida de paz? Y él respondió: Sí, de paz.

And Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bath-sheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, Comest thou peaceably? And he said, Peaceably.

Then Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. She said, “Do you come peaceably?” He said, “Peaceably.

Dann fuhr er fort: »Ich habe eine Bitte an dich.« Sie erwiderte: »Rede!«

En seguida dijo: Una palabra tengo que decirte. Y ella dijo: Di.

He said moreover, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And she said, Say on.

He said moreover, I have something to tell you.” She said, “Say on.”

Da sagte er: »Du weißt selbst, daß das Königtum (eigentlich) mir zukam und daß ganz Israel in mir den zukünftigen König sah; aber die Sache kam dann anders, und das Königtum ist meinem Bruder zugefallen, weil es vom HERRN für ihn bestimmt war.

Y él dijo: Tú sabes que el reino era mío, y que todo Israel había puesto en mí su rostro, para que yo reinara: mas el reino fué traspasado, y vino á mi hermano; porque por Jehová era suyo.

And he said, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign: howbeit the kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother’s: for it was his from the LORD.

He said, “You know that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign. However, the kingdom is turned around, and has become my brother’s; for it was his from the LORD.

Nun aber habe ich eine einzige Bitte an dich; schlage sie mir nicht ab!« Sie entgegnete ihm: »Rede!«

Y ahora yo te hago una petición: no me hagas volver mi rostro. Y ella le dijo: Habla.

And now I ask one petition of thee, deny me not. And she said unto him, Say on.

Now I ask one petition of you. Don’t deny me.” She said to him, “Say on.”

Da fuhr er fort: »Bitte doch den König Salomo – denn dich wird er sicherlich nicht abweisen –, er möge mir Abisag von Sunem zur Frau geben.«

El entonces dijo: Yo te ruego que hables al rey Salomón, (porque él no te hará volver tu rostro,) para que me dé á Abisag Sunamita por mujer.

And he said, Speak, I pray thee, unto Solomon the king, (for he will not say thee nay,) that he give me Abishag the Shunammite to wife.

He said, “Please speak to Solomon the king (for he will not tell you ‘no’), that he give me Abishag the Shunammite as wife.”

Bathseba erwiderte darauf: »Gut! Ich will deinethalben mit dem König reden.«

Y Bath-sheba dijo: Bien; yo hablaré por ti al rey.

And Bath-sheba said, Well; I will speak for thee unto the king.

Bathsheba said, “All right. I will speak for you to the king.”

Als Bathseba sich nun zum König Salomo begab, um wegen Adonias mit ihm zu reden, erhob sich der König, ging ihr entgegen, verneigte sich vor ihr und setzte sich dann wieder auf seinen Stuhl; dann ließ er auch für die Königin-Mutter einen Stuhl hinstellen, und sie setzte sich zu seiner Rechten.

Y vino Bath-sheba al rey Salomón para hablarle por Adonía. Y el rey se levantó á recibirla, é inclinóse á ella, y volvió á sentarse en su trono, é hizo poner una silla á la madre del rey, la cual se sentó á su diestra.

Bath-sheba therefore went unto king Solomon, to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself unto her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a seat to be set for the king’s mother; and she sat on his right hand.

Bathsheba therefore went to King Solomon, to speak to him for Adonijah. The king rose up to meet her and bowed himself to her, and sat down on his throne and caused a throne to be set for the king’s mother; and she sat on his right hand.

Darauf sagte sie: »Ich habe eine kleine Bitte an dich: schlage sie mir nicht ab!« Der König erwiderte ihr: »Bitte nur, liebe Mutter! Denn ich werde dich nicht abweisen.«

Y ella dijo: Una pequeña petición pretendo de ti; no me hagas volver mi rostro. Y el rey le dijo: Pide, madre mía, que yo no te haré volver el rostro.

Then she said, I desire one small petition of thee; I pray thee, say me not nay. And the king said unto her, Ask on, my mother: for I will not say thee nay.

Then she said, “I ask one small petition of you; don’t deny me.” The king said to her, “Ask on, my mother, for I will not deny you.”

Da sagte sie: »Möchte doch Abisag von Sunem deinem Bruder Adonia zur Frau gegeben werden!«

Y ella dijo: Dése Abisag Sunamita por mujer á tu hermano Adonía.

And she said, Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah thy brother to wife.

She said, “Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah your brother as wife.”

Da gab der König Salomo seiner Mutter folgende Antwort: »Warum bittest du für Adonia nur um Abisag von Sunem? Bitte für ihn doch lieber gleich um das Königtum! Er ist ja mein älterer Bruder, und auf seiner Seite stehen der Priester Abjathar und Joab, der Sohn der Zeruja!«

Y el rey Salomón respondió, y dijo á su madre: ¿Por qué pides á Abisag Sunamita para Adonía? Demanda también para él el reino, porque él es mi hermano mayor; y tiene también á Abiathar sacerdote, y á Joab hijo de Sarvia.

And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.

King Solomon answered his mother, “Why do you ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom also, for he is my elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.”

Hierauf schwur der König Salomo beim HERRN: »Gott strafe mich jetzt und künftig, wenn diese Bitte den Adonia nicht das Leben kostet!

Y el rey Salomón juró por Jehová, diciendo: Así me haga Dios y así me añada, que contra su vida ha hablado Adonía esta palabra.

Then king Solomon sware by the LORD, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life.

Then King Solomon swore by the LORD, saying, “God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life.

So wahr der HERR lebt, der mich (als König) eingesetzt und mich den Thron meines Vaters David hat besteigen lassen und der mir nach seiner Verheißung ein Haus gebaut hat: heute noch muß Adonia sterben!«

Ahora pues, vive Jehová, que me ha confirmado y me ha puesto sobre el trono de David mi padre, y que me ha hecho casa, como me había dicho, que Adonía morirá hoy.

Now therefore, as the LORD liveth, which hath established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me an house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day.

Now therefore as the LORD lives, who has established me and set me on my father David’s throne, and who has made me a house as he promised, surely Adonijah shall be put to death today.”

Hierauf beauftragte der König Salomo Benaja, den Sohn Jojadas; der stieß ihn nieder; so starb er.

Entonces el rey Salomón envió por mano de Benaía hijo de Joiada, el cual dió sobre él, y murió.

And king Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him that he died.

King Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell on him, so that he died.

Dem Priester Abjathar aber befahl der König: »Begib dich nach Anathoth auf dein Landgut! Denn du hast eigentlich den Tod verdient; aber ich will dich heute nicht töten lassen, weil du die Lade Gottes des HERRN vor meinem Vater David getragen und weil du an allen Leiden, die meinen Vater betroffen haben, teilgenommen hast.«

Y á Abiathar sacerdote dijo el rey: Vete á Anathoth á tus heredades, que tú eres digno de muerte; mas no te mataré hoy, por cuanto has llevado el arca del Señor Jehová delante de David mi padre, y además has sido trabajado en todas las cosas en que fué trabajado mi padre.

And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the Lord GOD before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.

To Abiathar the priest the king said, “Go to Anathoth, to your own fields, for you are worthy of death. But I will not at this time put you to death, because you bore the Lord GOD’s ark before David my father, and because you were afflicted in all in which my father was afflicted.”

So verstieß also Salomo den Abjathar, so daß er nicht mehr Priester des HERRN war; und damit ging die Drohung in Erfüllung, die der HERR einst gegen das Haus Elis in Silo ausgesprochen hatte.

Así echó Salomón á Abiathar del sacerdocio de Jehová, para que se cumpliese la palabra de Jehová que había dicho sobre la casa de Eli en Silo.

So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being priest unto the LORD; that he might fulfil the word of the LORD, which he spake concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.

So Solomon thrust Abiathar out from being priest to the LORD, that he might fulfill the LORD’s word which he spoke concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.

Als nun die Kunde von diesem allem zu Joab drang – Joab hatte nämlich zu Adonia gehalten, während er sich an Absalom nicht angeschlossen hatte –, da floh Joab in das Zelt des HERRN und umfaßte die Hörner des Altars.

Y vino la noticia hasta Joab: porque también Joab se había adherido á Adonía, si bien no se había adherido á Absalom. Y huyó Joab al tabernáculo de Jehová, y asióse á los cornijales del altar.

Then tidings came to Joab: for Joab had turned after Adonijah, though he turned not after Absalom. And Joab fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.

This news came to Joab; for Joab had followed Adonijah, although he didn’t follow Absalom. Joab fled to the LORD’s Tent, and held onto the horns of the altar.

Als nun dem König Salomo gemeldet wurde, daß Joab in das Zelt des HERRN geflohen sei und dort neben dem Altar stehe, da sandte Salomo Benaja, den Sohn Jojadas, hin mit dem Befehl: »Gehe hin, stoße ihn nieder!«

Y fué hecho saber á Salomón que Joab había huído al tabernáculo de Jehová, y que estaba junto al altar. Entonces envió Salomón á Benaía hijo de Joiada, diciendo: Ve, y da sobre él.

And it was told king Solomon that Joab was fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD; and, behold, he is by the altar. Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, fall upon him.

King Solomon was told, “Joab has fled to the LORD’s Tent; and behold, he is by the altar.” Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, “Go, fall on him.”

Benaja begab sich also in das Zelt des HERRN und sagte zu Joab: »So lautet des Königs Befehl: ›Komm heraus!‹« Aber er antwortete: »Nein, hier will ich sterben!« Da meldete Benaja dies dem König mit den Worten: »So hat Joab gesprochen, und so hat er mir geantwortet.«

Y entró Benaía al tabernáculo de Jehová, y díjole: El rey ha dicho que salgas. Y él dijo: No, sino aquí moriré. Y Benaía volvió con esta respuesta al rey, diciendo: Así habló Joab, y así me respondió.

And Benaiah came to the tabernacle of the LORD, and said unto him, Thus saith the king, Come forth. And he said, Nay; but I will die here. And Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, Thus said Joab, and thus he answered me.

Benaiah came to the LORD’s Tent, and said to him, “The king says, ‘Come out!’” He said, “No; but I will die here.” Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, “This is what Joab said, and this is how he answered me.”

Da befahl ihm der König: »Tu ihm, wie er gesagt hat: stoße ihn nieder und begrabe ihn und schaffe so das Blut, das Joab ohne Grund vergossen hat, von mir und von meines Vaters Hause weg!

Y el rey le dijo: Haz como él ha dicho; mátale y entiérralo, y quita de mí y de la casa de mi padre la sangre que Joab ha derramado injustamente.

And the king said unto him, Do as he hath said, and fall upon him, and bury him; that thou mayest take away the innocent blood, which Joab shed, from me, and from the house of my father.

The king said to him, “Do as he has said, and fall on him, and bury him, that you may take away the blood, which Joab shed without cause, from me and from my father’s house.

Der HERR lasse ihm seine Blutschuld auf sein eigenes Haupt zurückfallen, weil er zwei Männer, die ehrenhafter und besser waren als er, niedergestoßen und mit dem Schwert ermordet hat, ohne daß mein Vater David etwas davon wußte, nämlich Abner, den Sohn Ners, den Heerführer der Israeliten, und Amasa, den Sohn Jethers, den Heerführer der Judäer:

Y Jehová hará tornar su sangre sobre su cabeza: que él ha muerto dos varones más justos y mejores que él, á los cuales mató á cuchillo sin que mi padre David supiese nada: á Abner hijo de Ner, general del ejército de Israel, y á Amasa hijo de Jether, general de ejército de Judá.

And the LORD shall return his blood upon his own head, who fell upon two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, my father David not knowing thereof, to wit, Abner the son of Ner, captain of the host of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the host of Judah.

The LORD will return his blood on his own head, because he fell on two men more righteous and better than he, and killed them with the sword, and my father David didn’t know it: Abner the son of Ner, captain of the army of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the army of Judah.

deren Blut möge auf das Haupt Joabs und auf das Haupt seiner Nachkommen für alle Zukunft zurückfallen! David aber und seinen Nachkommen, seinem Hause und seinem Thron möge für alle Zeiten Heil vom HERRN zuteil werden!«

La sangre pues de ellos recaerá sobre la cabeza de Joab, y sobre la cabeza de su simiente para siempre: mas sobre David y sobre su simiente, y sobre su casa y sobre su trono, habrá perpetuamente paz de parte de Jehová.

Their blood shall therefore return upon the head of Joab, and upon the head of his seed for ever: but upon David, and upon his seed, and upon his house, and upon his throne, shall there be peace for ever from the LORD.

So their blood will return on the head of Joab and on the head of his offspring forever. But for David, for his offspring, for his house, and for his throne, there will be peace forever from the LORD.”

Da ging Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas, hinauf und versetzte ihm den Todesstoß; er wurde alsdann bei seinem Hause in der Steppe (Juda) begraben.

Entonces Benaía hijo de Joiada subió, y dió sobre él, y matólo; y fué sepultado en su casa en el desierto.

So Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up, and fell upon him, and slew him: and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.

Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up and fell on him, and killed him; and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.

Der König machte hierauf Benaja, den Sohn Jojadas, an Joabs Statt zum obersten Heerführer und übertrug dem Priester Zadok die Stelle Abjathars.

Y el rey puso en su lugar á Benaía hijo de Joiada sobre el ejército: y á Sadoc puso el rey por sacerdote en lugar de Abiathar.

And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his room over the host: and Zadok the priest did the king put in the room of Abiathar.

The king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his place over the army; and the king put Zadok the priest in the place of Abiathar.

Weiter ließ der König den Simei rufen und sagte zu ihm: »Baue dir ein Haus in Jerusalem und bleibe dort wohnen! Du darfst von dort nicht weggehen, wohin es auch sei!

Después envió el rey, é hizo venir á Semei, y díjole: Edifícate una casa en Jerusalem, y mora ahí, y no salgas de allá á una parte ni á otra;

And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Build thee an house in Jerusalem, and dwell there, and go not forth thence any whither.

The king sent and called for Shimei, and said to him, “Build yourself a house in Jerusalem, and live there, and don’t go anywhere else.

Sobald du dich nämlich von da entfernst und auch nur über den Bach Kidron gehst, so kannst du dich darauf verlassen, daß du sterben mußt: dein Blut kommt dann über dein eigenes Haupt!«

Porque sabe de cierto que el día que salieres, y pasares el torrente de Cedrón, sin duda morirás, y tu sangre será sobre tu cabeza.

For it shall be, that on the day thou goest out, and passest over the brook Kidron, thou shalt know for certain that thou shalt surely die: thy blood shall be upon thine own head.

For on the day you go out and pass over the brook Kidron, know for certain that you will surely die. Your blood will be on your own head.”

Simei erwiderte dem König: »Gut so! Wie mein Herr, der König, befohlen hat, so wird dein Knecht tun.« So wohnte denn Simei lange Zeit in Jerusalem.

Y Semei dijo al rey: La palabra es buena; como el rey mi señor ha dicho, así lo hará tu siervo. Y habitó Semei en Jerusalem muchos días.

And Shimei said unto the king, The saying is good: as my lord the king hath said, so will thy servant do. And Shimei dwelt in Jerusalem many days.

Aber nach Ablauf von drei Jahren begab es sich, daß dem Simei zwei Sklaven zu Achis, dem König von Gath, dem Sohne Maachas, entliefen. Als man nun dem Simei mitteilte, daß seine Sklaven sich in Gath befänden,

Pero pasados tres años, aconteció que se le huyeron á Semei dos siervos á Achîs, hijo de Maachâ, rey de Gath. Y dieron aviso á Semei, diciendo: He aquí que tus siervos están en Gath.

And it came to pass at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei ran away unto Achish son of Maachah king of Gath. And they told Shimei, saying, Behold, thy servants be in Gath.

machte Simei sich auf, ließ seinen Esel satteln und begab sich nach Gath zu Achis, um seine Sklaven ausfindig zu machen; er zog also hin und holte seine Sklaven aus Gath zurück.

Sobald nun Salomo erfuhr, daß Simei sich von Jerusalem nach Gath begeben habe und von dort wieder zurückgekommen sei,

ließ der König den Simei vor sich kommen und sagte zu ihm: »Habe ich dich nicht beim HERRN schwören lassen und dir die bestimmte Versicherung gegeben: ›Sobald du dich von hier entfernst, wohin es auch sei, so kannst du dich darauf verlassen, daß du sterben mußt?‹ Damals erklärtest du mir: ›Gut so! Ich habe es gehört.‹

Entonces el rey envió, é hizo venir á Semei, y díjole: ¿No te conjuré yo por Jehová, y te protesté, diciendo: El día que salieres, y fueres acá ó acullá, sabe de cierto que has de morir? Y tú me dijiste: La palabra es buena, yo la obedezco.

And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Did I not make thee to swear by the LORD, and protested unto thee, saying, Know for a certain, on the day thou goest out, and walkest abroad any whither, that thou shalt surely die? and thou saidst unto me, The word that I have heard is good.

Warum hast du dich nun an den beim HERRN geschworenen Eid und an den von mir erteilten Befehl nicht gehalten?«

¿Por qué pues no guardaste el juramento de Jehová, y el mandamiento que yo te impuse?

Der König fügte dann noch hinzu: »Du weißt selbst, wie schwer du dich gegen meinen Vater David vergangen hast – du erinnerst dich dessen noch recht gut –; so läßt denn der HERR jetzt deine Bosheit auf dein Haupt zurückfallen.

Dijo además el rey á Semei: Tú sabes todo el mal, el cual tu corazón bien sabe, que cometiste contra mi padre David; Jehová pues, ha tornado el mal sobre tu cabeza.

Der König Salomo dagegen wird gesegnet sein und der Thron Davids immerdar feststehen vor dem HERRN!«

Y el rey Salomón será bendito, y el trono de David será firme perpetuamente delante de Jehová.

And king Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the LORD for ever.

Darauf erteilte der König dem Benaja, dem Sohn Jojadas, Befehl; der ging hinaus und stieß ihn nieder: so starb er. Als nun das Königtum sich in Salomos Hand befestigt hatte,
