verschwägerte sich Salomo mit dem Pharao, dem König von Ägypten; er heiratete nämlich eine Tochter des Pharaos und führte sie in die Davidsstadt, bis er mit dem Bau seines Palastes sowie mit dem Bau des Tempels des HERRN und der Ringmauer um Jerusalem fertig war.

Y SALOMÓN hizo parentesco con Faraón rey de Egipto, porque tomó la hija de Faraón, y trájola á la ciudad de David, entre tanto que acababa de edificar su casa, y la casa de Jehová, y los muros de Jerusalem alrededor.

And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh’s daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.

Das Volk mußte damals leider noch auf den Höhen opfern, weil bis zu dieser Zeit dem Namen des HERRN noch kein eigenes Haus erbaut worden war.

Hasta entonces el pueblo sacrificaba en los altos; porque no había casa edificada al nombre de Jehová hasta aquellos tiempos.

Salomo antwortete: »Du hast deinem Knecht, meinem Vater David, große Huld erwiesen, weil er vor dir in Wahrheit und Gerechtigkeit und mit aufrichtigem Herzen gegen dich gewandelt ist, und du hast ihm auch diese große Huld bewahrt und ihm einen Sohn gegeben, der auf seinem Throne sitzt, wie dieser Tag beweist.

Y Salomón dijo: Tú hiciste gran misericordia á tu siervo David mi padre, según que él anduvo delante de ti en verdad, en justicia, y con rectitud de corazón para contigo: y tú le has guardado esta tu grande misericordia, que le diste hijo que se sentase en su trono, como sucede en este día.

And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

Solomon said, “You have shown to your servant David my father great loving kindness, because he walked before you in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with you. You have kept for him this great loving kindness, that you have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is today.

Nun denn, HERR, mein Gott, weil du selbst deinen Knecht an meines Vaters David Statt zum König gemacht hast, ich aber noch ein junger Mann bin, der weder aus noch ein weiß,

Ahora pues, Jehová Dios mío, tú has puesto á mí tu siervo por rey en lugar de David mi padre: y yo soy mozo pequeño, que no sé cómo entrar ni salir.

And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.

und weil dein Knecht in der Mitte deines Volkes steht, das du erwählt hast, eines so großen Volkes, daß man es vor Menge nicht zählen noch berechnen kann:

Y tu siervo está en medio de tu pueblo al cual tú escogiste; un pueblo grande, que no se puede contar ni numerar por su multitud.

And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.

so wollest du deinem Knecht ein verständiges Herz geben, damit er dein Volk zu regieren versteht und zwischen gut und böse zu unterscheiden weiß; denn wer wäre sonst imstande, dieses dein so zahlreiches Volk zu regieren?«

Da pues á tu siervo corazón dócil para juzgar á tu pueblo, para discernir entre lo bueno y lo malo: porque ¿quién podrá gobernar este tu pueblo tan grande?

Diese Rede gefiel dem HERRN wohl, daß Salomo nämlich eine solche Bitte ausgesprochen hatte;

darum antwortete Gott ihm: »Weil du diese Bitte ausgesprochen und dir nicht ein langes Leben oder Reichtum gewünscht oder auch um den Tod deiner Feinde gebeten, sondern dir Einsicht erbeten hast, um Verständnis für das Recht zu besitzen,

And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;

God said to him, “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself long life, nor have you asked for riches for yourself, nor have you asked for the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice,

so will ich deine Bitte erfüllen: Siehe, ich will dir ein weises und einsichtsvolles Herz geben, so daß deinesgleichen nicht vor dir gewesen ist und deinesgleichen nach dir nicht erstehen wird.

He aquí lo he hecho conforme á tus palabras: he aquí que te he dado corazón sabio y entendido, tanto que no haya habido antes de ti otro como tú, ni después de ti se levantará otro como tú.

Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.

Aber auch das will ich dir verleihen, was du dir nicht erbeten hast, sowohl Reichtum als auch Ehre, so daß kein anderer König dir gleich sein soll, solange du lebst.

Y aun también te he dado las cosas que no pediste, riquezas y gloria: tal, que entre los reyes ninguno haya como tú en todos tus días.

And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.

Und wenn du auf meinen Wegen wandelst, indem du meine Satzungen und Gebote beobachtest, wie dein Vater David gewandelt ist, so will ich dir auch ein langes Leben verleihen.«

Als nun Salomo erwachte, erkannte er, daß es ein bedeutungsvoller Traum gewesen war. Als er dann nach Jerusalem zurückgekehrt war, trat er vor die Bundeslade des HERRN, brachte Brandopfer dar und richtete Heilsopfer her und veranstaltete ein Festmahl für alle seine Diener.

Y como Salomón despertó, vió que era sueño: y vino á Jerusalem, y presentóse delante del arca del pacto de Jehová, y sacrificó holocaustos, é hizo pacíficos; hizo también banquete á todos sus siervos.

Damals kamen zwei Dirnen zum König und traten vor ihn;

And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.

Da geschah es zwei Tage nach meiner Niederkunft, daß auch dieses Weib ein Kind gebar, und wir beide waren allein, kein Fremder war sonst bei uns im Hause, nur wir beide befanden uns im Hause.

Da starb das Kind dieses Weibes in der Nacht, weil sie es im Schlaf erdrückt hatte.

Da sagte das andere Weib: »Nein, mein Kind ist das lebende, und dein Kind ist das tote!«, jene aber versicherte: »Nein, dein Kind ist das tote und mein Kind das lebende!« So stritten sie vor dem Könige.

And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king.

The other woman said, “No! But the living one is my son, and the dead one is your son.” The first one said, “No! But the dead one is your son, and the living one is my son.” They argued like this before the king.

Da sagte der König: »Die eine behauptet: ›Dieses, das lebende Kind, gehört mir, und dein Kind ist das tote‹; die andere behauptet: ›Nein, dein Kind ist das tote und mein Kind das lebende!‹«

El rey entonces dijo: Esta dice: Mi hijo es el que vive, y tu hijo es el muerto: y la otra dice, No, mas el tuyo es el muerto, y mi hijo es el que vive.

Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living.

Then the king said, “One says, ‘This is my son who lives, and your son is the dead one;’ and the other says, ‘No! But your son is the dead one, and my son is the living one.’”

Dann befahl der König: »Holt mir ein Schwert!« Als man nun das Schwert vor den König gebracht hatte,

And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.

befahl er: »Teilt das lebende Kind in zwei Teile und gebt dieser Frau die eine Hälfte und jener die andere Hälfte!«

Da rief die Frau, der das lebende Kind gehörte – denn die mütterliche Liebe zu ihrem Kinde kam bei ihr zum Durchbruch –, dem König die Worte zu: »Mit Vergunst, Herr! Gebt ihr das lebende Kind und tötet es ja nicht!« Die andere aber rief: »Es soll weder mir noch dir gehören: zerteilt es!«

Entonces la mujer cuyo era el hijo vivo, habló al rey (porque sus entrañas se le conmovieron por su hijo), y dijo: ¡Ah, señor mío! dad á ésta el niño vivo, y no lo matéis. Mas la otra dijo: Ni á mí ni á ti; partidlo.

Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.

Then the woman whose the living child was spoke to the king, for her heart yearned over her son, and she said, “Oh, my lord, give her the living child, and in no way kill him!” But the other said, “He shall be neither mine nor yours. Divide him.”

Da entschied der König: »Die da, welche gerufen hat: ›Gebt ihr das lebende Kind und tötet es ja nicht!‹, die ist seine Mutter.«

Als nun ganz Israel den Richterspruch vernahm, den der König gefällt hatte, fühlte man Ehrfurcht vor dem König, denn man erkannte, daß eine göttliche Weisheit in ihm wohnte, um Recht zu sprechen.
