1El rey Salomón gobernó sobre todo Israel.
2Estos eran sus funcionarios: Azarías, hijo de Sadoc, era el sacerdote;
3Elijoref y Ahías, hijos de Sisá, eran los secretarios del rey. Josafat, hijo de Ajilud, llevaba los registros reales.
4Benaía, hijo de Joyadá, era el comandante del ejército. Sadoc y Abiatar eran sacerdotes.
5Azarías, hijo de Natán, estaba a cargo de los gobernadores. Zabud, hijo de Natán, era sacerdote y consejero del rey.
6Ajisar era el administrador del palacio. Adoniram, hijo de Abdá, estaba a cargo de los obligados a trabajar para el rey.
7Salomón tenía doce gobernadores de zona cuyas responsabilidades abarcaban todo Israel, proporcionando alimentos para el rey y su casa. Cada uno, a su vez, organizaba los suministros para un mes del año.
8Sus nombres eran: Ben-Jur, en la región montañosa de Efraín;
9Ben Decar en Macaz, Salbín, Bet-semes y Elon-bet-Janán;
10Ben Jésed en Arubot (Soco y toda la tierra de Héferle pertenecían);
11Ben Abinadab, en todo Nafat-dor (Tafat, la hija de Salomón, era su esposa);
12Baná, hijo de Ajilud, en Tanac y Meguido, en toda la zona de Bet Seán, cerca de Saretán, debajo de Jezrel, y desde Bet-seán hasta Abel-Mejolá y a través de Jocmeán;
13Ben-guéber, en Ramot de Galaad (las ciudades de Jair, hijo de Manasés, en Galaad le pertenecían, así como la región de Argob en Basán, con sesenta grandes ciudades con murallas y barras de bronce);
14Ajinadab, hijo de Idó, en Majanayin;
15Ajimaz, en Neftalí (se había casado con Basemat, hija de Salomón);
16Baaná, hijo de Husay, en Aser y en Alot;
17Josafat, hijo de Parúa, en Isacar;
18Simí, hijo de Elá, en Benjamín;
19Geber hijo de Uri, en la tierra de Galaad, (la antigua tierra de Sehón, rey de los amorreos, y de Og, rey de Basán. También había un gobernador que estaba sobre la tierra de Judá).
20Judá e Israel habían llegado a ser tan numerosos como la arena en la orilla de la fuente de metal. Comían, bebían y eran felices.
21Salomón dominaba todos los reinos desde el río Éufrates hasta el país de los filisteos, hasta la frontera de Egipto. Presentaron tributo a Salomón y le sirvieron durante su vida.
22La comida que necesitaba cada día la corte de Salomón era de treinta coros de la mejor harina y sesenta coros de harina;
23diez reses engordadas, veinte reses de pasto, cien ovejas, así como ciervos, gacelas, corzos y aves de corral engordadas.
24Porque Salomón gobernaba toda la región al oeste del Éufrates, desde Tifa hasta Gaza, sobre todos los reinos al oeste del Éufrates. Y tenía paz por todos lados a su alrededor. Tuvo paz en todas las fronteras.
25Durante la vida de Salomón, todos los habitantes de Judá e Israel vivían con seguridad, desde Dan hasta Beerseba. Cada uno tenía su propia vid e higuera.
26Salomón tenía 40.000 establos para los caballos de sus carros y 12.000 auriculares.
27Cada mes, los gobernadores de la zona proporcionaban por turnos comida al rey Salomón y a todos los que comían en su mesa. Se aseguraban de que no faltara nada.
28También entregaban cebada y paja donde se necesitaban para los caballos de los carros y las carretas.
29Dios le dio a Salomón sabiduría, un discernimiento muy grande y un entendimiento tan extenso como la arena de la orilla de la fuente de metal.
30La sabiduría de Salomón era mayor que la de todos los sabios de Oriente, mayor que toda la sabiduría de Egipto.
31Era más sabio que cualquiera, más sabio que Etán el ezraíta, más sabio que Hemán, Calcol y Darda, hijos de Mahol. Su fama se extendió por las naciones que le rodeaban.
32Salomón compuso tres mil proverbios y mil cinco canciones.
33Podía hablar del conocimiento de los árboles, desde el cedro del Líbano hasta el hisopo que crece en los muros. Enseñó sobre los animales, las aves, los reptiles y los peces.
34Gente de todas las naciones acudía a escuchar la sabiduría de Salomón. Eran enviadas por todos los reyes de la tierra, que habían oído hablar de su sabiduría.

1FUÉ pues el rey Salomón rey sobre todo Israel.
2Y estos fueron los príncipes que tuvo: Azarías hijo de Sadoc, sacerdote;
3Elioreph y Ahía, hijos de Sisa, escribas; Josaphat hijo de Ahilud, canciller;
4Benaía hijo de Joiada era sobre el ejército; y Sadoc y Abiathar eran los sacerdotes;
5Azaría hijo de Nathán era sobre los gobernadores; Zabud hijo de Nathán era principal oficial, amigo del rey;
6Y Ahisar era mayordomo; y Adoniram hijo de Abda era sobre el tributo.

11El hijo de Abinadab, en todos los términos de Dor: éste tenía por mujer á Thaphat hija de Salomón;
12Baana hijo de Ahilud, en Taanach y Megiddo, y en toda Beth-san, que es cerca de Zaretán, por bajo de Jezreel, desde Beth-san hasta Abel-mehola, y hasta la otra parte de Jocmeam;
13El hijo de Geber, en Ramoth de Galaad; éste tenía también las ciudades de Jair hijo de Manasés, las cuales estaban en Galaad; tenía también la provincia de Argob, que era en Basán, sesenta grandes ciudades con muro y cerraduras de bronce;
14Ahinadab hijo de Iddo, en Mahanaim;
15Ahimaas en Nephtalí; éste tomó también por mujer á Basemath hija de Salomón.
16Baana hijo de Husai, en Aser y en Aloth;
17Josaphat hijo de Pharua, en Issachâr;
18Semei hijo de Ela, en Benjamín;
19Geber hijo de Uri, en la tierra de Galaad, la tierra de Sehón rey de los Amorrheos, y de Og rey de Basán; éste era el único gobernador en aquella tierra.
20Judá é Israel eran muchos, como la arena que está junto á la mar en multitud, comiendo y bebiendo y alegrándose.
21Y Salomón señoreaba sobre todos los reinos, desde el río de la tierra de los Filisteos hasta el término de Egipto: y traían presentes, y sirvieron á Salomón todos los días que vivió.
22Y la despensa de Salomón era cada día treinta coros de flor de harina, y sesenta coros de harina.
23Diez bueyes engordados, y veinte bueyes de pasto, y cien ovejas; sin los ciervos, cabras, búfalos, y aves engordadas.
24Porque él señoreaba en toda la región que estaba de la otra parte del río, desde Tiphsa hasta Gaza, sobre todos los reyes de la otra parte del río; y tuvo paz por todos lados en derredor suyo.
25Y Judá é Israel vivían seguros, cada uno debajo de su parra y debajo de su higuera, desde Dan hasta Beer-seba, todos los días de Salomón.
26Tenía además de esto Salomón cuarenta mil caballos en sus caballerizas para sus carros, y doce mil jinetes.
27Y estos gobernadores mantenían al rey Salomón, y á todos los que á la mesa del rey Salomón venían, cada uno un mes; y hacían que nada faltase.
28Hacían también traer cebada y paja para los caballos y para las bestias de carga, al lugar donde él estaba, cada uno conforme al cargo que tenía.
29Y dió Dios á Salomón sabiduría, y prudencia muy grande, y anchura de corazón como la arena que está á la orilla del mar.
30Que fué mayor la sabiduría de Salomón que la de todos los orientales, y que toda la sabiduría de los Egipcios.
31Y aun fué más sabio que todos los hombres; más que Ethán Ezrahita, y que Emán y Calchôl y Darda, hijos de Mahol: y fué nombrado entre todas las naciones de alrededor.
32Y propuso tres mil parábolas; y sus versos fueron mil y cinco.
33También disertó de los árboles, desde el cedro del Líbano hasta el hisopo que nace en la pared. Asimismo disertó de los animales, de las aves, de los reptiles, y de los peces.
34Y venían de todos los pueblos á oir la sabiduría de Salomón, y de todos los reyes de la tierra, donde había llegado la fama de su sabiduría.

1So king Solomon was king over all Israel.
2And these were the princes which he had; Azariah the son of Zadok the priest,
3Elihoreph and Ahiah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder.
4And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:
5And Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers: and Zabud the son of Nathan was principal officer, and the king’s friend:
6And Ahishar was over the household: and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the tribute.
7And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, which provided victuals for the king and his household: each man his month in a year made provision.
8And these are their names: The son of Hur, in mount Ephraim:
9The son of Dekar, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Beth-shemesh, and Elon-beth-hanan:
10The son of Hesed, in Aruboth; to him pertained Sochoh, and all the land of Hepher:

13The son of Geber, in Ramoth-gilead; to him pertained the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; to him also pertained the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, threescore great cities with walls and brasen bars:
14Ahinadab the son of Iddo had Mahanaim:
15Ahimaaz was in Naphtali; he also took Basmath the daughter of Solomon to wife:
16Baanah the son of Hushai was in Asher and in Aloth:
17Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar:
18Shimei the son of Elah, in Benjamin:
19Geber the son of Uri was in the country of Gilead, in the country of Sihon king of the Amorites, and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only officer which was in the land.
20Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry.
21And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.
22And Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal,
23Ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and an hundred sheep, beside harts, and roebucks, and fallowdeer, and fatted fowl.
24For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.
25And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, all the days of Solomon.
26And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
27And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon’s table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing.
28Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge.
29And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.
30And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.
31For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about.
32And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.
33And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.
34And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.

6Ahishar was over the household; and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the men subject to forced labor.
7Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, who provided food for the king and his household. Each man had to make provision for a month in the year.
8These are their names: Ben Hur, in the hill country of Ephraim;
9Ben Deker, in Makaz, in Shaalbim, Beth Shemesh, and Elon Beth Hanan;

14Ahinadab the son of Iddo, in Mahanaim;
15Ahimaaz, in Naphtali (he also took Basemath the daughter of Solomon as wife);
16Baana the son of Hushai, in Asher and Bealoth;
17Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar;
18Shimei the son of Ela, in Benjamin;

25Judah and Israel lived safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.

27Those officers provided food for King Solomon, and for all who came to King Solomon’s table, every man in his month. They let nothing be lacking.
28They also brought barley and straw for the horses and swift steeds to the place where the officers were, each man according to his duty.
29God gave Solomon abundant wisdom, understanding, and breadth of mind like the sand that is on the seashore.
30Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt.
31For he was wiser than all men—wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was in all the nations all around.
32He spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs numbered one thousand five.
33He spoke of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon even to the hyssop that grows out of the wall; he also spoke of animals, of birds, of creeping things, and of fish.
34People of all nations came to hear the wisdom of Solomon, sent by all kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.
