Ainsi, les officiers approvisionnaient le roi Stillemon, et chacun avait son mois pour subvenir à ce qui était demandé pour sa table ; et ils n'intervertissaient jamais l'ordre établi. Ils faisaient transporter l'orge et la paille pour les chevaux de selle et les attelages du roi, en tout lieu où il se trouvait, chacun selon ce qui lui était prescrit.

HIRAM rey de Tiro envió también sus siervos á Salomón, luego que oyó que lo habían ungido por rey en lugar de su padre: porque Hiram había siempre amado á David.

Tú sabes como mi padre David no pudo edificar casa al nombre de Jehová su Dios, por las guerras que le cercaron, hasta que Jehová puso sus enemigos bajo las plantas de sus pies.

Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.

“You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of the LORD his God because of the wars which were around him on every side, until the LORD put his enemies under the soles of his feet.

Car il était chef de toute la contrée en deçà de l'Euphrate, et la paix régnait tout alentour de ses territoires.

Ahora Jehová mi Dios me ha dado reposo por todas partes; que ni hay adversarios, ni mal encuentro.

But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent.

Et le Seigneur avait doué Salomon d'une grande intelligence, d'une grande sagesse, et d'une richesse de cœur abondante comme le sable du rivage de la mer.

Yo por tanto he determinado ahora edificar casa al nombre de Jehová mi Dios, como Jehová lo habló á David mi padre, diciendo: Tu hijo, que yo pondré en lugar tuyo en tu trono, él edificará casa á mi nombre.

And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name.

Manda pues ahora que me corten cedros del Líbano; y mis siervos estarán con los tuyos, y yo te daré por tus siervos el salario que tú dijeres: porque tú sabes bien que ninguno hay entre nosotros que sepa labrar la madera como los Sidonios.

Now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians.

Now therefore command that cedar trees be cut for me out of Lebanon. My servants will be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you say. For you know that there is nobody among us who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.”

Y como Hiram oyó las palabras de Salomón, holgóse en gran manera, y dijo: Bendito sea hoy Jehová, que dió hijo sabio á David sobre este pueblo tan grande.

And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, which hath given unto David a wise son over this great people.

Y envió Hiram á decir á Salomón: He oído lo que me mandaste á decir: yo haré todo lo que te pluguiere acerca de la madera de cedro, y la madera de haya.

And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which thou sentest to me for: and I will do all thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.

Mis siervos la llevarán desde el Líbano á la mar; y yo la pondré en balsas por la mar hasta el lugar que tú me señalares, y allí se desatará, y tú la tomarás: y tú harás mi voluntad en dar de comer á mi familia.

My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon unto the sea: and I will convey them by sea in floats unto the place that thou shalt appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and thou shalt receive them: and thou shalt accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.

La sagesse de Salomon s'accrut et surpassa celle des anciens, celle de tous les sages de l'Égypte.

Dió pues Hiram á Salomón madera de cedro y madera de haya todo lo que quiso.

Alors, le Pharaon vint d'Égypte ; il prit Gazer et il la livra aux flammes ; il extermina le Chananéen qui habitait Mergab, et il donna ces conquêtes à sa fille, femme de Salomon, et Salomon rebâtit Gazer.

Donne donc tes ordres, et que l'on coupe des arbres du Liban ; voici mes serviteurs pour aider les tiens, et je te paierai le salaire de tes services comme tu le demanderas ; car tu sais que parmi nous personne n'est aussi habile que les Sidoniens à travailler le bois.

Or, Hiram fut grandement réjoui d'entendre ces paroles, et il dit : Béni soit aujourd'hui le Seigneur, qui a donné à David un fils aussi sage pour gouverner ce peuple nombreux.

Puis, il envoya dire à Salomon : J'ai ouï toutes les choses au sujet desquelles tu as envoyé près de moi ; je ferai tout ce que tu veux ; cèdres et sapins,

Mes serviteurs transporteront tout du Liban à la mer ; on en formera des radeaux jusqu'au lieu que tu m'indiqueras ; là, je les ferai délier, et tu les enlèveras, et tu feras tout ce que je désire en donnant des vivres à ma maison.

Hiram donna donc à Salomon des cèdres, des sapins et tout ce qu'il voulut.

Et Salomon donna à Hiram vingt mille mesures de froment pour alimenter sa maison, et vingt mille mesures d'huile battue ; voilà ce que Salomon donna par an à Hiram.

Or, le Seigneur avait donné à Salomon la sagesse comme il le lui avait dit. Et la paix régnait entre Hiram et Salomon, qui contractèrent entre eux une alliance.

Le roi imposa une corvée à tout Israël, et il requit pour ce service trente mille hommes.

Il les fit partir pour le Liban, dix mille par dix mille qui se relevaient mois par mois ; ils passaient un mois au Liban et deux mois chez eux. Adoniram était à leur tête.
