Bien sabes el deseo que tuvo mi padre David, y que no pudo edificar el templo al Nombre del Señor su Dios a causa de las guerras que tenía con sus vecinos, hasta que el Señor se los puso bajo las plantas de sus pies.
Tú sabes como mi padre David no pudo edificar casa al nombre de Jehová su Dios, por las guerras que le cercaron, hasta que Jehová puso sus enemigos bajo las plantas de sus pies.
Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
“You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of the LORD his God because of the wars which were around him on every side, until the LORD put his enemies under the soles of his feet.
Mas ahora el Señor mi Dios, me ha dado reposo por todas partes, y no tengo enemigo ni obstáculo alguno.

Por eso pienso edificar un templo al Nombre del Señor Dios mío, como lo dejó el Señor ordenado a mi padre David, diciendo: Tu hijo a quien pondré en tu lugar sobre tu solio, ése ha de edificar el templo al Nombre mío.
Yo por tanto he determinado ahora edificar casa al nombre de Jehová mi Dios, como Jehová lo habló á David mi padre, diciendo: Tu hijo, que yo pondré en lugar tuyo en tu trono, él edificará casa á mi nombre.
And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name.

Da, pues, orden a tus gentes que me corten cedros del Líbano, y mis gentes se juntarán con las tuyas, y por el salario de éstas te daré yo todo lo que pidieres; porque bien sabes que en mi pueblo no hay quien sepa labrar la madera como los sidonios.
Manda pues ahora que me corten cedros del Líbano; y mis siervos estarán con los tuyos, y yo te daré por tus siervos el salario que tú dijeres: porque tú sabes bien que ninguno hay entre nosotros que sepa labrar la madera como los Sidonios.
Now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians.

Así que oyó Hiram la embajada de Salomón , se alegró sobremanera, y exclamó: Bendito sea hoy el Señor Dios que dio a David un hijo sapientísimo para gobernar un pueblo tan numeroso.
Y como Hiram oyó las palabras de Salomón, holgóse en gran manera, y dijo: Bendito sea hoy Jehová, que dió hijo sabio á David sobre este pueblo tan grande.
And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, which hath given unto David a wise son over this great people.

Inmediatamente Hiram envió a decir a Salomón : He oído todo lo que me pides; cumpliré todos tus deseos en orden a las maderas de cedro y abeto.
Y envió Hiram á decir á Salomón: He oído lo que me mandaste á decir: yo haré todo lo que te pluguiere acerca de la madera de cedro, y la madera de haya.
And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which thou sentest to me for: and I will do all thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.

Mis siervos las transportarán desde el Líbano al mar, y haré acomodarlas en almadías o balsas, dirigiéndolas al lugar que me señalares, y las haré arrimar allí, y tú las mandarás recoger. Entretanto me suministrarás lo que necesite para el arreglo de mi casa.
Mis siervos la llevarán desde el Líbano á la mar; y yo la pondré en balsas por la mar hasta el lugar que tú me señalares, y allí se desatará, y tú la tomarás: y tú harás mi voluntad en dar de comer á mi familia.
My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon unto the sea: and I will convey them by sea in floats unto the place that thou shalt appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and thou shalt receive them: and thou shalt accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.

Daba, pues, Hiram a Salomón maderas de cedro y abeto, cuantas éste quería;
Dió pues Hiram á Salomón madera de cedro y madera de haya todo lo que quiso.
