Salomon avait autorité sur tous les pays situés entre le Fleuve et le pays des Philistins, jusqu'à la frontière d'Egypte; ils lui apportaient des présents et lui restèrent soumis toute sa vie durant.

Tú sabes como mi padre David no pudo edificar casa al nombre de Jehová su Dios, por las guerras que le cercaron, hasta que Jehová puso sus enemigos bajo las plantas de sus pies.

Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.

Car il commandait à tout le pays en deçà du Fleuve et à tous les rois de cette région, depuis Tifsah jusqu'à Gaza, et était en paix avec tous ses voisins d'alentour.

Ahora Jehová mi Dios me ha dado reposo por todas partes; que ni hay adversarios, ni mal encuentro.

Juda et Israël, pendant toute la vie de Salomon, demeurèrent en sécurité, chacun sous sa vigne et sous son figuier, depuis Dan jusqu'à Bersabée.

Yo por tanto he determinado ahora edificar casa al nombre de Jehová mi Dios, como Jehová lo habló á David mi padre, diciendo: Tu hijo, que yo pondré en lugar tuyo en tu trono, él edificará casa á mi nombre.

Salomon avait quarante mille attelages de chevaux pour ses chars et douze mille chevaux de selle.

Manda pues ahora que me corten cedros del Líbano; y mis siervos estarán con los tuyos, y yo te daré por tus siervos el salario que tú dijeres: porque tú sabes bien que ninguno hay entre nosotros que sepa labrar la madera como los Sidonios.

Now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians.

Now therefore command that cedar trees be cut for me out of Lebanon. My servants will be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you say. For you know that there is nobody among us who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.”

Les intendants en question, chacun dans son mois, pourvoyaient le roi Salomon et tous ceux qui étaient admis à sa table, sans les laisser manquer de rien.

Y como Hiram oyó las palabras de Salomón, holgóse en gran manera, y dijo: Bendito sea hoy Jehová, que dió hijo sabio á David sobre este pueblo tan grande.

And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, which hath given unto David a wise son over this great people.

L'orge et la paille destinées aux chevaux et autres montures, ils les amenaient, chacun selon sa consigne, à l'endroit où se trouvait le roi.

Y envió Hiram á decir á Salomón: He oído lo que me mandaste á decir: yo haré todo lo que te pluguiere acerca de la madera de cedro, y la madera de haya.

La sagesse de Salomon était plus grande que celle de tous les Orientaux, plus grande que toute la sagesse des Egyptiens.

Dió pues Hiram á Salomón madera de cedro y madera de haya todo lo que quiso.

Lorsque Hiram eut connaissance du message de Salomon, il s'en réjouit fort et dit: "Béni soit l'Eternel d'avoir donné à David un fils capable de gouverner ce grand peuple!"

Et il manda ce qui suit à Salomon: "J'ai reçu ton message; je ferai tout ce que tu désires, en ce qui concerne et le bois de cèdre et le bois de cyprès.

Mes serviteurs les transporteront du Liban à la mer; je les ferai assembler en radeaux, qui iront par mer jusqu'à l'endroit que tu me désigneras; là je les ferai disjoindre, et tu en prendras livraison. De ton côté, tu me satisferas en assurant l'entretien de ma maison."

Hiram fournit ainsi à Salomon du bois de cèdre et du bois de cyprès, autant qu'il en voulait;

et Salomon fournit à Hiram, pour l'entretien de sa maison, vingt mille kôr de froment et vingt kôr d'huile d'olives concassées; voilà ce qu'il lui fournissait chaque année.

Le Seigneur avait doué Salomon de sagesse, comme il le lui avait promis; Hiram et Salomon vivaient en paix, et ils conclurent entre eux une alliance.

Le roi Salomon leva un contingent sur la totalité d'Israël, contingent qui se monta à trente mille hommes.

Il les envoya au Liban, dix mille hommes par mois à tour de rôle; ils passaient un mois sur le Liban et deux mois dans leurs foyers; Adoniram dirigeait le service.

Salomon employa soixante-dix mille hommes pour porter les fardeaux, et quatre-vingt mille pour extraire les pierres de la montagne,

indépendamment des inspecteurs préposés par Salomon aux travaux, trois mille trois cents hommes, chargés de la police des travailleurs.

Sur l'ordre du roi, on tira des carrières de grosses et lourdes pierres, des pierres de taille, pour les fondations du temple.

Et les ouvriers de Salomon et ceux de Hiram et les Ghibléens équarrissaient et façonnaient le bois et la pierre pour l'édification du temple.
