En el mes de zif, es decir, el segundo mes del cuarto año del reinado de Salomón se comenzó la edificación del templo del Señor. (Habían transcurrido cuatrocientos ochenta años desde que el pueblo de Israel había salido de la esclavitud en Egipto).

Y FUÉ en el año cuatrocientos ochenta después que los hijos de Israel salieron de Egipto, en el cuarto año del principio del reino de Salomón sobre Israel, en el mes de Ziph, que es el mes segundo, que él comenzó á edificar la casa de Jehová.

And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

In the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the LORD’s house.

El templo del Señor tenía veintisiete metros de largo, nueve de ancho, y trece y medio de alto.

La casa que el rey Salomón edificó á Jehová, tuvo sesenta codos de largo y veinte de ancho, y treinta codos de alto.

And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.

The house which King Solomon built for the LORD had a length of sixty cubits, and its width twenty, and its height thirty cubits.

A lo largo del frente había un pórtico de nueve metros de largo, y cuatro metros y medio de ancho.

Y el pórtico delante del templo de la casa, de veinte codos de largo, según la anchura de la casa, y su ancho era de diez codos delante de la casa.

And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.

The porch in front of the temple of the house had a length of twenty cubits, which was along the width of the house. Ten cubits was its width in front of the house.

Llevaba ventanas estrechas en todo su contorno.

E hizo á la casa ventanas anchas por de dentro, y estrechas por de fuera.

And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.

He made windows of fixed lattice work for the house.

A lo largo de los muros, a ambos costados del templo, se construyeron salas anexas.

Edificó también junto al muro de la casa aposentos alrededor, contra las paredes de la casa en derredor del templo y del oráculo: é hizo cámaras alrededor.

And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:

Against the wall of the house, he built floors all around, against the walls of the house all around, both of the temple and of the inner sanctuary; and he made side rooms all around.

Estas salas tenían tres pisos de alto, siendo el piso bajo de dos metros con veinticinco centímetros de ancho; el segundo piso medía dos metros con setenta centímetros de ancho, y el piso superior era de tres metros con quince centímetros de ancho. Las medidas de la parte exterior del templo habían sido reducidas, para que las vigas que sostenían las salas no descansaran sobre las paredes.

El aposento de abajo era de cinco codos de ancho, y el de en medio de seis codos de ancho, y el tercero de siete codos de ancho: porque por de fuera había hecho disminuciones á la casa en derredor, para no trabar las vigas de las paredes de la casa.

The nethermost chamber was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house.

The lowest floor was five cubits wide, and the middle was six cubits wide, and the third was seven cubits wide; for on the outside he made offsets in the wall of the house all around, that the beams should not be inserted into the walls of the house.

Las piedras usadas en la construcción del templo eran completamente labradas en la cantera, de modo que toda la estructura fue edificada sin que se oyera sonido de martillo, de hacha o de otra herramienta en el lugar de la edificación.

Y la casa cuando se edificó, fabricáronla de piedras que traían ya acabadas; de tal manera que cuando la edificaban, ni martillos ni hachas se oyeron en la casa, ni ningún otro instrumento de hierro.

And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.

The house, when it was under construction, was built of stone prepared at the quarry; and no hammer or ax or any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was under construction.

La entrada a la sala contigua del templo estaba en el costado derecho de la misma, y por medio de escaleras en forma de caracol se podía subir al segundo piso; un segundo tramo de escaleras servía para subir hasta el tercer piso.

La puerta del aposento de en medio estaba al lado derecho de la casa: y subíase por un caracol al de en medio, y del aposento de en medio al tercero.

The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third.

The door for the middle side rooms was in the right side of the house. They went up by winding stairs into the middle floor, and out of the middle into the third.

Después de acabado el templo, Salomón la hizo cubrir con vigas y tablones de cedro.

Labró pues la casa, y acabóla; y cubrió la casa con artesonados de cedro.

So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.

Como ya se ha dicho, había un anexo a cada lado del edificio, unido a las paredes del templo por medio de vigas de cedro. Cada piso del anexo tenía dos metros con veinticinco centímetros de alto.

Y edificó asimismo el aposento en derredor de toda la casa, de altura de cinco codos, el cual se apoyaba en la casa con maderas de cedro.

And then he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.

He built the floors all along the house, each five cubits high; and they rested on the house with timbers of cedar.

Entonces el Señor envió este mensaje a Salomón: «Si haces lo que yo te diga, y sigues todos mis mandamientos e instrucciones, cumpliré lo que le prometí a David, tu padre.

Y fué palabra de Jehová á Salomón, diciendo:

And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,

Esta casa que tú edificas, si anduvieres en mis estatutos, é hicieres mis derechos, y guardares todos mis mandamientos andando en ellos, yo tendré firme contigo mi palabra que hablé á David tu padre;

Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:

“Concerning this house which you are building, if you will walk in my statutes, and execute my ordinances, and keep all my commandments to walk in them, then I will establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father.

Viviré en medio del pueblo de Israel y jamás lo abandonaré».

Y habitaré en medio de los hijos de Israel, y no dejaré á mi pueblo Israel.

And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

Finalmente, el templo quedó construido.

Así que, Salomón labró la casa, y acabóla.

Todo el interior, desde el piso hasta el techo, fue recubierto con cedro, y los pisos fueron hechos de tablas de pino.

Y aparejó las paredes de la casa por de dentro con tablas de cedro, vistiéndola de madera por dentro, desde el solado de la casa hasta las paredes de la techumbre: cubrió también el pavimento con madera de haya.

And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.

He built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar; from the floor of the house to the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood. He covered the floor of the house with cypress boards.

El Lugar Santísimo, que estaba al fondo del templo, y medía nueve metros, también fue recubierto de madera de cedro, desde el piso hasta el techo.

Asimismo hizo al cabo de la casa un edificio de veinte codos de tablas de cedro, desde el solado hasta lo más alto; y fabricóse en la casa un oráculo, que es el lugar santísimo.

And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place.

He built twenty cubits of the back part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the ceiling. He built this within, for an inner sanctuary, even for the most holy place.

La parte que estaba frente al Lugar Santísimo era el Lugar Santo, y medía dieciocho metros de largo.

Y la casa, á saber, el templo de dentro, tenía cuarenta codos.

And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits long.

In front of the temple sanctuary was forty cubits long.

El templo estaba cubierta de cedro por dentro, y la madera estaba tallada con diseños de flores abiertas y en botón, de modo que no se veía ni una sola piedra.

Y la casa estaba cubierta de cedro por de dentro, y tenía entalladuras de calabazas silvestres y de botones de flores. Todo era cedro; ninguna piedra se veía.

And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.

There was cedar on the house within, carved with buds and open flowers. All was cedar. No stone was visible.

El cofre del pacto del Señor estaba en la sala interior, es decir, en el Lugar Santísimo.

Y adornó el oráculo por de dentro en medio de la casa, para poner allí el arca del pacto de Jehová.

And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.

He prepared an inner sanctuary in the middle of the house within, to set the ark of the LORD’s covenant there.

Este santuario interior tenía nueve metros de largo, nueve de ancho y nueve de alto. Sus muros y el techo estaban recubiertos con oro puro. El altar de madera de cedro, que estaba frente al Lugar Santísimo, también fue recubierto de oro.

Y el oráculo estaba en la parte de adentro, el cual tenía veinte codos de largo, y otros veinte de ancho, y otros veinte de altura; y vistiólo de oro purísimo: asimismo cubrió el altar de cedro.

And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.

Within the inner sanctuary was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in width, and twenty cubits in its height. He overlaid it with pure gold. He covered the altar with cedar.

Salomón hizo recubrir de oro puro el interior del resto del templo del Señor, incluyendo el altar de cedro. E hizo cadenas de oro para proteger la entrada al Lugar Santísimo.

De suerte que vistió Salomón de oro puro la casa por de dentro, y cerró la entrada del oráculo con cadenas de oro, y vistiólo de oro.

So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.

Cubrió pues de oro toda la casa hasta el cabo; y asimismo vistió de oro todo el altar que estaba delante del oráculo.

He overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. He also overlaid the whole altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary with gold.

Dentro del santuario interior, Salomón colocó dos querubines de madera de olivo, cada uno de cuatro metros y medio de alto. Fueron colocados de modo que sus alas extendidas llegaban de pared a pared y se tocaban entre sí al centro de la sala; cada ala tenía dos metros y veinticinco centímetros, de modo que cada querubín medía cuatro metros y medio de ala a ala. Los dos eran idénticos en todas sus dimensiones, y cada uno fue recubierto de oro.

Hizo también en el oráculo dos querubines de madera de oliva, cada uno de altura de diez codos.

And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high.

In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high.

La una ala del querubín tenía cinco codos, y la otra ala del querubín otros cinco codos: así que había diez codos desde la punta de la una ala hasta la punta de la otra.

And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.

Five cubits was the length of one wing of the cherub, and five cubits was the length of the other wing of the cherub. From the tip of one wing to the tip of the other was ten cubits.

Asimismo el otro querubín tenía diez codos; porque ambos querubines eran de un tamaño y de una hechura.

La altura del uno era de diez codos, y asimismo el otro.

Y puso estos querubines dentro de la casa de adentro: los cuales querubines extendían sus alas, de modo que el ala del uno tocaba á la pared, y el ala del otro querubín tocaba á la otra pared, y las otras dos alas se tocaban la una á la otra en la mitad de la casa.

And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.

And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.

La entrada al santuario interior tenía postes que, con el dintel, formaban cinco lados y ángulos,

Y cubrió de oro el piso de la casa, de dentro y de fuera.

Y á la entrada del oráculo hizo puertas de madera de oliva; y el umbral y los postes eran de cinco esquinas.

And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall.

y sus dos puertas de madera de olivo fueron talladas con querubines, palmeras y flores abiertas, todo recubierto de oro.

Las dos puertas eran de madera de oliva; y entalló en ellas figuras de querubines y de palmas y de botones de flores, y cubriólas de oro: cubrió también de oro los querubines y las palmas.

The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.

So he made two doors of olive wood; and he carved on them carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold. He spread the gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees.

Luego hizo postes cuadrados de madera de olivo para la entrada.

Igualmente hizo á la puerta del templo postes de madera de oliva cuadrados.

So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall.

Había dos puertas plegables de madera de pino, y cada puerta tenía bisagras, de modo que podía girar sobre sí misma.

Pero las dos puertas eran de madera de haya; y los dos lados de la una puerta eran redondos, y los otros dos lados de la otra puerta también redondos.

And the two doors were of fir tree: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.

Estas puertas fueron talladas con querubines, palmeras y flores abiertas, y fueron cuidadosamente recubiertas con oro.

And he carved thereon cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved work.

El muro del patio interior tenía tres hileras de piedra labrada y una hilera de vigas de cedro.

And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.

Los cimientos del templo del Señor se echaron en el mes de zif, en el cuarto año del reinado de Salomón,

y todo el edificio se terminó de construir, conforme a los planos, en el mes de bul, que es el mes octavo, del año undécimo de su reinado. Tardaron, pues, siete años en edificarlo.

Y en el undécimo año, en el mes de Bul, que es el mes octavo, fué acabada la casa con todas sus pertenencias, y con todo lo necesario. Edificóla pues, en siete años.

And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
